The complaint was that healers don't DPS when they got nothing better to do, in the Final Coil you should be having things to do.

You make time. Have you done Final Coil? Have any of you mongoloids complaining about "I ROLLED HEALER TO HEAL NOT 2 DPS LOL" done real content? Because if you haven't, there's no reason for you to be so conservative. If you have, you'd still know there are gaps where you can accomplish small but sure DPS.
It's no offense, but I can heal 1000 damage off of everyone with a Medica. Which is more efficient than casting stokeskin on even 2 people.
It's not wasted on tanks, but outside of the beginning of a fight, there isn't much reason to cast it if you're worried about MP management in most things worthwhile.
But really, WHM's aren't typically the ones that should be DPSing in those fights, SCH's should be. While Cleric's Stance inhbits all of our cures except Benediction, they still have access to lustrates and fairy cutes to help out.
I'm coming back to this thread because it amazes me how very few people seem to have realized this (or are not taking this into consideration)... I talked about it in another post, however I'm gonna describe here in more detail:
TL: DR; Sometimes pre-healing tanks (specially WARs) with SS is even more effective than a Cure 2. SS is f'in important.
OK, so, imagine you are a WHM who heals about 1900~2000 with cure 2. Now, you're healing a tank, let's say a Warrior, which has ~12k MAX HP buffed.
Now, a SS will shield that guy for (12.000 * 18%) = 2160 HP. That's 100~200 HP MORE than what a cure 2 will cure. On groups where the tank has bigger iLvl than the healer, or if the tank is a WAR, this difference will be even greater. Now, I was always used of finding my "breaking point" whenever I upgrade gear - the ammount of HP that, if the tank has more than that, SS is more HP per MP than Cure 2. I really thought EVERY WHM understood the importance of SS and did this.
Apparently I was mistaken.
I'm glad this game doesn't endorse DPS parsers. Prob I'd see PF groups booting healers for reasons of "low DPS".
Im no healer but after talking to my static I have come to this conclusion.
If your healer "NEEDS" to dps you should probably replace your dps.
If you dont have time to miss a dps ability you dont have time to dps.
If you thought a healer was a dps you are wrong.
As for the accuracy I believe it was added to make older content.
I really appreciate it when the WHM or SCH in our group tries to take the time to through out a little dps. However in the later turns with all of the aoe's and even in the first two with the adds and mechanics they are finding it tough. Most of the time their dps is below 20. They usually decide the time is better used mitigating the next mechanic so our dps can have better uptime and not worry about to maximize their dps.
It's not a question of can or can't... it's a question that it's all balance. If you're DPSing, you're not healing. that means ppl are not being topped off so you can do your awesome 100~150 DPS.
