NEWS: Personal Housing, Limit Break Changes etc

There's this system long ago in a Korean MMO which name escapes me that allows 'blood brother' or 'blood sister' with basically marriage perks. I wonder if FF14 can do the same. It's not 'marriage' per-se, but people who can't find a partner won't miss out I guess... lol.

It's so stupid to be worried about same sex marriage when we're talking about avatars and the avatars aren't even human anyway. I fully support same sex rights, including same sex marriage, and can't help but think that it's ridiculous that this is even still an issue in a video game make believe world. It would make more sense to put restrictions on the players than the avatars. NOT THAT I WANT THEM TO RESTRICT MARRIAGE but can't SE tell that my husband's account is owned by a man, and mine by a woman, even though we both play females?

The reason it's still an issue is because people (not necessarily all players, but some players and many non-players) turn same-sex marriage into a very political issue because, to them, it is a political issue that carries with it its own agendas and concessions.

I mean, I don't think that's true. I myself am an openly homosexual man and I would love to have same-sex marriage in this game. I really, genuinely do. But I also love FFXIV and I don't want it to get bad press from the people who would force same-sex marriage inclusion to be some kind of "malicious ploy to brainwash children to be gay" or whatever. It's foolish and immature to think that way, but a lot of people still think that way and it gets me very worried about marriage incoming into the game.

I would rather they not add a marriage system at all if they aren't going to include same sex marriage. Why bring cookies into a group of kindergarten kids and only give half of them cookies while telling the others, "Well maybe you'll get cookies someday, but we have to check with your classmates who already have cookies to see what they think about that."

PS4 doesn't operate on DX11. It's a different API that has equivalent features. PS4 is nearly identical to the PC version on maximum settings settings. Yoshida only mentioned that the the processing of the shadows is slightly different. The PC directx 11 version will be different that will include more features available from DX11. He did mentioned using shadow, lighting and reflections features. I don't know if he mentioned any other features that it will use.

I'm glad to hear that it's is aimed for before years end. I was expecting it next year based on previous comments.

Honestly? That's my viewpoint. I just don't think there should be a marriage system at all. If people want to get married, it should be organized by the players themselves. There is already a chapel in East Shroud that anyone can use and nothing is stopping anyone from getting RP-married there.

I don't think dx11 will be as awesome as it could be in ffxiv, but it's a better than nothing deal. I also fully expect quite a few bugs out of it for awhile. I do remember at one point they had mentioned hi res textures, but the was renegged into lighting effects. I just wish the terrain in the distance would be touched up. That ceiling in T1 is absolutely atrocious.

I'm not expecting a lot from it too. It should have some improved performance at least. Ya I remembered mention about hi res textures in beta, however that's under NDA. Did that really happen? :p
