That is quite interesting, thank you for posting it! I started in Gridania so got a lot of CON lore. :P
Hmm, based on that, I could see THM becoming white mage by getting quests to join this more exclusive Milvaneth Sacrarium. Probably unlikely, but a fun thing to consider. :)
When I said typically it was kinda an **anti-spoiler** to the miqote one shotting the rival. Vagueness due to people who might want to figure out more about quest, most of us in this thread have probably done all three though.
edit: its cool there's a guild of umbral thm and astral thm, i would lvoe whm off of thm, but conj would ragequit.
Here's how I view CON and THM. Conjurers connect with the mystical, while Thaumaturges connect with the spiritual.
Many fantasy games have the traditional mage and priest. FFXIV took a distinctly unique route. For this, I applaud them. Of course, it was so unique that the descriptions used to define the classes made the mage sound like the healer, and the priest sound like the offensive caster.
Thaumaturge does seem to be a departure from what you normally see in Final Fantasy games. Again, its description on the official site sounds like a dark DD caster:
This is interesting, indeed. Again, I initially chose CON because I wanted to be a healer. But now I'm starting to wonder if THM will end up splitting into two job choices, a holy healer (WHM) and a dark caster.Quote:
In the hands of a skilled practitioner, thaumaturgy can be a force of terrifying destruction. At the heart of this school of magic lies the ability to call forth and command the latent aether within oneself through deep introspection.
To mold that aether into sorcery, the thaumaturge makes use of a scepter or staff, within which is housed a medium - a natural stone imbued with magical properties. The guild is centered at the Arrzaneth Ossuary in Ul'dah, within whose hallowed walls are said to reside powers of life, death, and the beyond.
Thaumaturges are unparalleled in their powers of destruction, eclipsing even the Disciples of War.
By enfeebling enemies and enhancing their allies, thaumaturgy can prove to be an invaluable asset, particularly in battles of attrition.
Because of this, I held off on leveling my CON any further. It seems I may want to consider leveling my THM.
Sort of perplexes me. I created a character history based on being a CON from Gridania. Rowyne may be in for career change. ;)
