I'm sorry you feel that the reasons I offered weren't to your liking. That doesn't invalidate the way people feel, just because you don't like it. Sorry. ... Also, the bit about not needing to go buy a ticket is kind of a moot point, as the ticket (while arguably the most important aspect) is likely the least-expensive item ($150) required to host a gathering with friends when you weigh it against expenses like Travel and Lodging (Airplane / Train / Car / Gas / Hotel) and the like.
I did, but you completely sidestepped what I said, and what people actually want at this point. So I'll state it again for emphasis.
People want a formal response. If people can't go, that's fine. But at the very least, tell them WHY.
If there's any resolution to this entire situation to be had, it would be from that, I'd wager.
