The problem is half these changes do nothing to streamline crafting. Making you use raw mats in place of parts does not make it fast and removing guild facilities and treatises does not make it faster or easier. These are useless changes that do not fix crafting. The only problem is the repetitive nature of the UI. But instead of addressing the real problem Yoshi decided to gut the system.
Your kidding right? If you level on parts and parts are removed you now have to level on something more complicated which makes it slower. Its not like its going to be faster to gather the new materials than it was to gather the old materials. The only thing these changes effect is leveling a craft and they effect it negatively. With the exception of removing Facilities and treatises of course, that serves literally no purpose.
Personally I would just like food recipes to produce multiples instead of using 8 materials for 1 item. Generally it's not too tough to get materials together but having to synth a million times for any semblance of a decent supply is lame. It's also why there's only specific foods made, I know I have only kept materials around for the few recipes that make 6 items per synth. Food doesn't have the "parts" issue and I'm not sure how they can simplify some recipes.
You seem to be on a different wavelength, my friend. No one here is arguing that the process of crafting itself is slower/faster. What will be faster here is the progress towards an end result. That end result being pieces of equipment. Or in your math:Quote:

No parts = Less synthing = Less time to make a Tunic.
You're talking about leveling a craft being slower thanks to these changes. That is highly debatable. All this change means is that there will be more equipment in the markets, and less nonsense items nobody wants.Quote:

Yeah I've been hoarding every ingredient cause they are almost never available in the wards, expensive from the NPC, and spread all over the earth. To make toad legs I had to travel to every city, and fish some ingredients myself.
I've had them for sale at less than cost on my retainer for more than 3 weeks and not 1 has sold. And it is Accuracy food! You would think there would be at least a couple DDs out there that want some accuracy. I guess not.
Anyway, more simplification would be nice.
Oh and it would REALLY NICE if food stacked to 99 like everything else. I can't even grind on Cul unless I want to lose bajillions in gil because nothing stacks past 12. It just sucks. Why can leatherworkers stack leather to 99... and loggers stack LOGS to 99 and I can only stack my juice to 12? Bogus.
I understand your concern with leveling faster or w/e it is you want to happen but maybe I became retarded at math. If you have to create the parts for a piece i.e. a Doublet and it requires the front, back, and both sleeves and you need lets just say for shits and giggles, 18 mats to make both sleeves; you're telling us that, the removal of those mats and having to take the time to make just those sleeves is FASTER then just taking cloth x 3, Brass ingot x2 (buttons) cotton yarn x3 and getting the whole product? O.o So 8 total mats to make one piece and only one time of doing it is SLOWER then the process of making each individual piece and THEN putting all together? Am I understanding you correctly Kiote? If not, can you please for the love of the gods, explain to us all ... ? Ty.
How do you propose they fix this than?
