Brayflox is the first real test for people everything before that is super easy so you don't get all that prepared for it and you get some who had an easy ride like Tanks who are just not ready for a dungeon that makes you pay more attention. Some do better with it than others when it comes to learning their class and teamwork skills.


Had a really weird experience in AV recently. Wasn't on WHM i was leveling another class and there was a WHM who was leveling also. Gets in and he does nothing except say "Full clear" great...Awesome....Protect would be nice too. Like 3 minutes of silence and the Tank decides to get on with it and somewhere in that protect is eventually cast missing the Tank. So we carry on clearing mobs and everything is fine. First boss. Healer does very little barely keeps us alive never uses divine seal with regen but it goes down easy enough though people had to use fruit at two stacks instead of 3-4. So this is where the big issue started we get to that one room with the fruit that later spawns mobs if you don't kill them. I instinctively nuke the fruit and we kill the mobs.

WHM is like"wtf?" i ignore it and then he's like "If you kill the fruit again i AFK" at this point i start laughing at him being such a self important dork. I'd sort of understand him having an attitude if he was good and worth it but he wasn't really. Anyway since i main WHM i start pointing out what he does wrong on the second boss. Never uses divine seal, When he has nothing to do he just AFK's until somebody needs healing never uses cleric stance. Didn't even use esuna until i reminded him 3 times. So this makes WHM even more angry and then he vote kicks me which the other two accept for some reason. Fair enough pointless to be on such a toxic run. I'd genuinely forgot about the fruit thing had he just been like "Oh we get more EXP if you let the mobs spawn" i probably would have just been like "Oh yeah i forgot about that i could use the EXP too. But he starts throwing a tantrum and acting like he is a healing god that could never be replaced.

Queued again for it an hour later and got a lvl 50 Healer doing roulette who was much better. Kinda wanted to see last boss with Mr.Moody pants though i bet he'd just do nothing and people would struggle to stay alive with 2-3 stacks. No holy on seeds etc.

ever had a brayflox group where everybody, including tank, was 2hit from everything?
well i had on a run with my WHM, and after 5 wipes before even reaching the first boss we agreed on dissolve the group

Had a tank and a nin yell at me for sleeping mobs (adds). They weren't saying a word until we wiped on a time I failed to sleep an add that attacked me (but the tank was pulling the entire room). I die trying to somehow keep team alive, myself, and the mob away from me (no one helps me of course). It was a nightmare. First time people baretted me for supporting team since I barely have enough mana to repeatedly cast cure2 on 6+ pulls with no break.

They eventually leave me alone when I told them they should kick me as I must have been a horrible human being. Their attitudes changed when they heard that. I shouldn't have to ask to be kicked for people to let up on the bashing. Of course, if I were a dps, I would have been dropped like a hat >_<

Had an extremely bad run of CT with a tank that had to be trolling. Barely geared for the run and pretty much screwed up every mechanic the party was trying to teach him; we lost 2 pots in the Thanatos fight since the tank was going all over the place and I couldn't balance between healing the party and healing the pots. The fight with the red devils went bad since troll tank decided to attack a boss belonging to another alliance and not helping with adds. The fight with King Behemoth was even worse since he didn't even click the towers and he let a tower get blown up, all while insisting that he was clicking the towers!


He was so bad that the other tank flat out told him that she hated him and that she treated him like crap to force him to learn better. What did the tank say? "That's ok". He had to be trolling. It's the only thing that makes sense. The other healer in our party was glad I came along because I was pretty much the only one carrying the entire group.

CT still gets a lot of trolls. It should be one of those things for easy tomes in and out. You normally get new people since people need to do it for the quest to unlock ST so the bonus is common so like 150 tomes per run plus a few Poetics. But unfortunately a lot of the time it's not easy because of people with nothing better to do than troll the run and do their best to cause wipes. Been running it a lot lately for soldiery to gear BLM but i think it's slowly driving me to madness. Did 4 runs yesterday and in three of them trolls were on the run in my group. Wiping the group on the three platform boss thingy by starting it before everyone is in so people already in just get wiped. Being a nuisance in chat and so on.

I've had this before - I usually get this in Darkhold... the Sacrificed Souls or which ever they are... the floaty glowy ball monsters *Rages against the floaty glowy balls*
They never fail to target me and only me after a pull - so I'm sort of stuck trying to heal the tank, any dps that may have pulled aggro or not out of AoEs and myself... all the while the little pain in the ass is canceling my casts. I usually sleep them, but in section like where the toads are can get a little hectic and my priority tends to be HP bars. Needless to say, I sometimes die in there, whereas I'm usually fine and dandy in the expert dungeons. >_>
Ran it twice in one night - died to the same circumstances. I hate Darkhold.
I would kill for Medica II (for extra HoT) or Holy in that dungeon. *Twitch*

I'm actually surprised they changed their attitude. o_O Usually they just go ahead and do it (kick people) at the suggestion, regardless who's actually fault (or if none at fault) >_>
From what I read of your horror story, I didn't see anything seriously bad to warrant a kick anyway. Shit happens *Shrug*. Most people don't realize what they're doing/saying and/or just don't adjust their attitudes just to save face.... so... I'm surprised.

Assuming they didn't want to kick the healer and wait for another one. DPS are dime a dozen so if you kick one and queue a replacement you get one in like 30 seconds usually and you can be waiting a while for a healer replacement. I think just some people try to shift the blame for their own mistakes come across some random ones where a Garuda EX the DPS were slow so we kept losing pillars before the big attack and wiping and some DPS was making some random excuse about the Tank position. Usually nobody really cares that much if you make a mistake and are like "Sorry i screwed that up" but some just blame others and start a huge argument.

Idk. It was one wipe 75% in the dungeon on a non-boss pull. I think they were miffed that their flow was broken. I was doing well before and after that one thing (and get all 3 comms). Idk. I don't think the community is all bad, just sometimes people can lash out at every little thing when their isn't enough support for genuine good or efforted play.

Alas, if you aren't playing the way someone wants, either by achieving the goal as fast as possible or playing EXACTLY like how they want, people start to rage. I think playing too many single player games and playing multiplayer games in single-player mode/mindset is an aspect to people not knowing how to work with others.

In the cozy little study, the Lalafell sat reclined in his leather chair by the chimney. The logs popped and hissed as the fire burned in the hearth. Kiko had a toy pipe in his mouth, blowing bubbles as he read his book, Healing Horror Stories. He noticed your presence again.

Kiko let out a high-pitched chuckle, taking his bubblepipe away from his mouth. "I didn't realize it, but I was living a Horror Story this whole time," he squeaked. "I didn't know I was supposed to attack the enemy when my groupmates didn't need healing. Hehe! Scary, huh?"

I may be shuned for this but meh...

What I have is not a Healer horror story but a DPS horror story, maybe will be good for a change of pace?

Anyway, while I do my dailies I have been farming for Solds and so I try to run a lowbie roulette as Im doing random stuff, sometimes it pops after all, and it was the case this time, so why not? Someone needs me on low levels! So lets go!!

And so, the first thing I say is "hi~♪" and all go "hi" too, so at least is a polite party that greets people! woo, nice start.
Then the screen clears out and reveals to me the dungeon I am destined to run through and open a path for my companions as their DPS, and it was one of the very first 3 D:!! That one that reminds me of the little-mermaid (not like you'd know) with many pirates and clams and stuff...

So I say, "oh well, there goes most of my high level skills, even the mudras" (I was a NIN) "poison, combos... the more I think of it, the more depressing it goes".

And so, tank (which was a gladiator) comments that it was his first time as a tank, Healer doesnt mind at all since she is also leveling her CNJ (but said she might fall asleep), and my pal DPS for this run, a THM which said he was lvling too, mained DRG, so pretty much I was the only weirdo with a Job instead of a class... but I cant just register for low roulettes with my Class right D:? it might be bad...

Either way, I comment its fine by me, after all I like slow runs, but as soon as the Tank hits the first mob, one doubt surfaces to my mind... how good can the Tank hold my agro? I know I was synched down to the ground, and my synched gears might actually be worse than the optimal lvl 18 HQ gear for the dungeon, but I hardly believed the Tank was in optimal gear since well, for one, he has less HP than me by almost 100!!

So I poked the first mob this Tank companion of mine went for first after waiting 2~3 GCD, and my surprise was kinda astonoshing, had the mob on me after 3 moves of my own despite the headstart D: (without poison)!!

So first thing I do after the mob is clear is open my char status screen and unequip all accesories, then try on again on next mob... nope, no good, my over all gear was still higher spec even on down synch!! so after that mob, I undid my belt...

And then switched to a lower weapon...

And then took off my gloves...

And then removed my hat...

And ten stripped my top...

And then threw off my shoes...

And then I had to stare at my pants... luckily for me I had a level 1 pair so I was not rocking it on underwear...

After the first miniboss also got the lvl 15 boots (which I wanted anyway for glamour's sake) and no longer had to worry about stepping on something pointy and hurtin my feet!!

Either way, by then we already ran through the clams and sometimes I couldnt avoid surpassing the Tank's agro (I actually do pay attention to how much agro Im generating and procure never steal the tank's spot light) which resulted in the Tank lossing tempo and a domino effect that lead to everyone else getting agro and our Healer having a hard time... so yep, stripping myself off and utterly stopping DPS at times was a must :|

Since all that from the beginning to the first mini-boss I was too preocupied with my own agro in relation to the Tank, I wasn't able to pay real much attention to everyone else, but once I managed to nerf myself down enough (from ilvl 106 to 13), I started to notice a few details from the other guys.

For one the THM was, uhm... cute, I would say. He was Firing all the things, but only one by one, at level 18, you have Fira enabled so I guess he forgot about it, and me too. Of course, when he ran out of MP he would promptly switch to Blizzard spells, but ooooi, THM frieeeend, Blizzara is AoE, alright, but you have to get closer~♪ also Blizzard is still better damage wise and you forgot to Transpose :v

Still, he managed to actually Bind the mobs on the 3rd boss with a well timed Blizzara so I think thats alright XD (he never used in the whole dun Fira tho).

And the Healer, she was pretty nice, she might have fallen asleep a few times but, I cant blame her, after all it was a lvl 18 synch dun, well, she wasnt synched from so far, her weapon was ilvl 16... I suppose she was on the 20+?

In any case, she did her job a bit too well, if any of us got even as little as much as 1 damage, we would get an immediate heal. As mindful as I am on the Agro metters (which I think its odd for a DPS) I don't think that was a good idea... she kept us alive but still sometimes she would get the Agro from a few mobs and Tank would run after them. This specially if I failed to control my own Agro...

So, overall, the party was a trainwreck! We were so terrible we were so good! so it was actually very balanced! So there were no wipes, no major problems and was over all quite the nice run. Noobs are cute XP

At the end of the run I did point out their faults tho.
Tank for starters, had an ilvl 5 weapon, no wonder I was beating his Agro even tho I nerfed myself down to ilvl 13. And he never used the shield throw skill you get from the gladiator lvl 15 class quest, so I pointed him to go get it and he'll also get a weapon there.
The THM also got a bit scolded by me for the Blizzara mess but it was ok in the end, he did properly aim the adds that poped if they poped on the boss and well, just didnt aim at the same target as the Tank a few times, which pulled mobs to him, but thats ok.
The CNJ, didnt get to hear her opinion of my comment of her stepping on the overheal for too much, so I guess that she fell asleep in the end...

They were all very open minded and recived the critisism with open arms, sadly I couldnt comm them all :|

Also the thing about Fire II? If the tank couldn't keep hate off you how do you think he would be able to keep it off an AoEing THM? It was smart for him to just use Fire.

The Tank was doing his job pretty well, he might have lost agro to me pretty quickly on almost anything I even so slightly as poked if I went with all, but he was holding off for the other 2 descently well, I believe he could have done well even if the THM went for Fira.

And about the CNJ, I know I am being rude telling them about the overheal, I did tell them it was great they were focusing on heal more than anything tho, but as being such a low level dungeon, I believe (from my healer friend's opinion) that is quite the boring dungeon for healers, is it not? So being on your toes to heal everything even if you over heal by tripple the amount needed, arent you doing more harm than good? (well, this applies for everything actually) The person never threw any DoT or picked up her slingshot, but I am of the belief that if a healer does that, they just have too much free time, and if they feel like helping my job while theirs is fine, then Im good. Im not a healer myself, so feel free to tell me out :\

Over all, they were a learning party, and pushing my way to go as fast as possible wouldn't have been good for them, I just pointed these out at the end of the run instead of during the run.

His thick hardback book, Healing Horror Stories, had been fitfully cast aside, lying on the floor with its covers open and pages ruffled. Upon your entry he scowled at you, but he was not at all intimidating.

"I went to Brayflox Longstop," he said, crossing his arms tightly, "and there was an Arcanist in the party whom I broke into a full-bodied sweat keeping alive! That Twelvedamned Elezen of a fool! Before any of us were prepared to depart, he ran ahead of our leader -- our Gladiator! -- and proceeded to bombard our enemies with his magic! It was so insufferable that I wanted to leave, but I couldn't let my party down. We eventually finished our crawl, and he with us, but...

"How that fool ever made it so far, only the gods may know. Hmph!"

CT, still full of trolls despite so few people running the raid. Had a tank in my party who wanted to act cute by stripping off all of her armor and slapping on the ghost sheet costume from the halloween event. I refused to heal and revive her after that.

Even had that sort of trolling in ST. Some Monk decided to fight naked and die every 2 seconds and what made it worse was the SCH who i assume was one of their friends decided to focus on them constantly chain ressing them. Other people were having problems and they were just standing there doing a slow res since they had Swiftcast on CD just to raise the Monk who would then get killed seconds later all while talking nonsense in chat. I guess that stuff will start getting worse too when ST is no longer the thing people need to do for gear and mats.

So I just came back from a week-long duty finder vacation and poked my friend into progressing through some trials. We took a trip to our good friend google to read up on the fights for an idea of what was to come, then headed off on our merry way.. to nightmares.

Our first fight was Ultima HM. Based on the number of phases and mechanics, my friend was a bit wary.. but overly optimistic/naive me was all "oh, but on the forums, people say it's easy now since everyone's overgeared.. might not be that bad!" Of course, we wiped in seconds. Luckily, the group was all willing to keep trying.. wipe.. after wipe.. after wipe.. Getting farther each time, but still, a bit depressing.

As I became more comfortable with the mechanics/memorized when and where I needed to move, I started paying more attention to my co-healer whitemage. About 90~95% of the time, she was casting Medica.. one person takes a little bit of damage? Medica!! Rarely, if multiple people had taken significant damage, I'd see a Medica II. Also from time to time, she would cast Cure, or rarer still, Cure II.. Interestingly enough, not on herself though.. and she never did learn how to dodge anything.

From the DPS side, apparently only my friend and one other were going for orbs, as well as one of the tanks.. so most of our later wipes were due to not enough people taking care of those. In addition to the whitemage not being effective with heals, she also never once used raise. (I even asked after a wipe! Very politely, asked if she could help with ressing if she had the mp.. she never responded.) As a result, the DPS would throw themselves at the orbs and die, then I'd have to sit and slowcast res them up again.. and again.. and again..

We ended up with 25% echo (wiped with that at least once!) and less than 5 minutes left.. I was healing everyone I could and pushing way too much succor, to the point that I ran out of mp around the second airship phase and was spamming my embrace hotkey on the tank, waiting out the 20 seconds of aetherflow cd.. dps just barely managed to take care of the orbs, I got my mp back up and threw out more heals, and we killed it just before time ran out..

We almost didn't queue for another trial after that. A bit too traumatizing.. We attempted Garuda Ex next and ended up with a vote abandon, but still we went for a third later in the night.. Thornmarch HM, should be easier, right? Amusingly enough, we had 4 ninjas for DPS.. that combined with the music, made the run all the more surreal..

Despite people admitting they were new, the tank didn't have much patience.. marked two (but not all), and we wiped in the second phase. Regrouped, went for it again (did not mark more to help out DPS), and had another near wipe in the second phase.. tank and healer saw several people die and immediately left the duty. Heard the limit break noise, saw screen go black.. cutscene! One of the ninjas apparently had focus fired on the boss the whole time and managed to survive the aoe/finish it with the limit.. Quite an odd end to things.

Got a newly minted 50 DRG and was spamming Trial DR to get a variety of learning experiences for my rotation. Got into Ramuh HM and had a WHM who basically casted Medica II at the very beginning of the fight then sat there for the remainder doing nothing. Someone noticed, and at first we thought it was just the terror, but after he was freed he still did nothing. There was bitching involved from several party members but we cleared. WHM left immediately after they got the trial completion.

Some people -.-

That moment when the WHM disconnects and you as the SCH has to solo heal Shiva Extreme. I pop all my cooldowns when necessary and sling spells like a cowboy would sling bullets. We get the boss down to 20% and two dps die from double staff whiteout. Swiftcast resurrect one of them to have another die to the hailstorm. Pop cooldowns to get the party back up while I wait on swiftcast. 15% rolls around and I pop everything I have to fend off the whiteouts. Another dps dies to moving during thin ice. I slow rez the monk during bow phase. Eternal Staff mode and eternal whiteouts ensure. Pop cooldowns and get the party to full health. Mana is in the toilet and Aetherflow is on cooldown. I take a swig of my best elixer and keep trucking. I beg bard for a mage's ballad. Bard dies because monk overlaps hailstorms with her. I swiftcast rez, but my mana is gone. Double whiteout. We wipe at 9% Shiva.

It was a nightmare, but also kind of fun. I got full commendations at least :D

Actually I have 2 stories.

First I go for to Titan to advance mi main quest with my bard and a tank who offered to help me, got in with a Nin, and i think was a Sch, we begin the fight, first thing I notice healer dies with the stomp attack Titan does, he can't take it, i check his gear and find he has almost all his gear between ilvl 10-15, and then just disconected, obviously left with my friend and just requed and got inmediatly after it, only felt bad for the Nin because he said he took over 50 mins to get in DF.

Second was just today in a run for Brayflox, got with a Whm, and a Nin and a lvl 35 Gla!! He couldn't hold aggro, didn't use flash, would lose aggro with a single heal, he wanted to dps!! And in the last boss he wouldn't even try to get boss out of poison spits, eventually we managed to clear, but it was awful took over 1 hour.
And it didn't mater how much we told him to flash or stop dps'ing just didn't know what he was doing. Worst run in Brayflox so far...

Brayflox’s Longstop run. Party: Paladin (me), White Mage, Ninja and Monk. A tranquil run, until the Aiatar (last boss).

1st try: I held aggro,I dodged all the breath attacks and I kept the boss away from the poison pools, but I noticed that everyone was badly hurt and and had a lot of poison stacks . We wiped.

2nd try: I started with Shield Lob then Provoke and I ran to the bottom of arena to drag the boss, but the Ninja stole my aggro and died almost immediately. We wiped again.

3rd try: Everything fine until the middle of the fight when White Mage used all his MP. I barely kept me alive using Cure on myself, but I held the aggro and we won.

Just had an ST run where impatient DPS pulled Xande before a group's tank or healers were in, along with one of my group's DPS.
We beat him anyways but bleh, me and the other healer picked up the slack and kept healing and rezzing their dps.

Had a tank in WOD who decided during the Cerberus fight to hit return instead of letting me revive him. Our team nearly wiped, but me and the other healer picked everyone up. We asked why the tank left us and he said that us healers were not doing our jobs properly so he'd rather teleport away and save on repair costs (all while ignoring the fact that this tank was afk mostly and no one was grabbing adds off of me so I had to save myself). After telling him to grow up, he went on a tirade on how he played MMOs since so and so game and how he knows how to do his job properly, wah wah wah.


Then at the Cloud of Darkness, none of the healers in the other alliances were healing their tanks properly and the tanks were losing hate. When the boss went to our tank, she hit him hard before we could get some good heals in and killed him. Tank then bitched at me and the other healer again for "not doing our jobs" and yelled at us for not using Esuna, despite the fact that Bleeding can't be cured in that fight. Everyone in our party was getting pissed off at the tank and he said he was going to report me and the other healer. We promptly booted him out and gotten a MUCH more pleasant tank afterwards.

Lol that guy who tells you how to do your job without understanding how the fight works or how your job works within it. Those "Esuna me bro!" types are on my hate list along with the people who keep dying and never shut up asking for a raise in chat when they do. If there is a pressing need for me to esuna somebody i would be doing it and not just those in my party the whole raid XD.

So... let's get a little serious here. I had a horrible experience with this new "daily" (weekly?) quest. And I don't mean in just one of the raids. Ooooh no. All three. :)

The idiot that I am I had to go in order so I started with LotA (yaaaaay). I hate this place so much... Sooo basically, without getting into too much detail? Trolls. And which team had trolls? Mine! Of course! I think there were literally only 3 of us who were actually serious. We didn't fight a single boss without wiping at least once. It was sooooo much fun. Also, KB can go fuck himself.

Next was ST. Ah ST. How I love/hate this place. The issues here were... Well we never got a message for any new players but yet people were having issues with mechanics? What? I saw someone on my team run around a little with a purple orb and then start DPSing the boss. Then the orb exploded. And then at another point four of us (myself, the other healer and 2 DPS) were standing on a puddle and... someone brought an ice orb over. Yay. That's five of us all frozen. My team was screwed. The whole raid didn't wipe though. Thank god. The other issue was with the other healer on my team not dodging any of the quakes from Xande. We took so long to take him down he ended up doing three of them and each one killed my healer ally. WTF...

Then I get into World of Darkness. I really like this place. A lot. But this run got a little personal... Before Cerberus I asked in Alliance chat which team would be getting eaten. People discussed it and whatever but a comment in the middle of the convo was strange "I'd rather get eaten then look at that ugly name". Okay? Well during the fight the other healer on my team asked "Which name is ugly" and I said "I was wondering the same thing." Turns out it was my name? My tank replied to guy with "That's rude" before I even saw what he said. Basically because my charcters name is "Estelle Heartilly" it isn't creative and terible and ugly. And something about a cesspool(?). Becasue I'm taking the names of two character from popular RPGs (two character I happen to like) it is a bad name. I wasn't really offended because he didn't like my name, but he was incredibly rude. I started to ask him why he was saying that and such, and he started to talk to me like I was an idiot. This was during Cloud of Darkness too... We ended up wiping and I apologized to my team, but they told me it was fine and that he was being an ass and stuff. I don't care if you don't like my username, really, and I know it's not creative. But don't be rude about it... We ended up wiping more than once, with my team gradually getting more and more ticked that the other teams weren't even paying attention to meteor mechanics at all. We eventually finished, but it was clear my team did flat out the best. We had very few deaths and were on top of all the meteors. It was crazy.

Blah. Raids...

Just had one of those runs where you can't just help but wonder.

Doing Titan HM run for a FC members relic. DPS don't know what they're doing. The MT and the other are great, though.

Cut the story short. Titan's heart is just shattered and he's at roughly... 45%? All DPS are dead. Other tank is dead. Me and the other healer kept trying to get the DPS up, but to no avail. They were horribly geared and we simply couldn't keep them alive long enough through the tumults which had now reached 7 times or so.

Fast forward, Titan is hitting 20% HP now from just the tank hitting it. Me and the other healer are holding swiftcast to get up the BRD just before gaols on the other healer, who uses Mages, DPS's the gaol down and then dies during the next tumult. The other healer is freed and we pop everything to keep us two and the tank alive on the tumults which are now hitting an ungodly amount of times that I can no longer count.This repeats itself for over 10 minutes or so until we down Titan at the very end with 2 healers and the MT.

The OT and other DPS leave in a rage quit, without even a thank you for getting them through Titan HM.

Kill. Me.

Ran Trial DR on my DRG and got into Ifrit HM. About half the party was "new" (no Sold bonus message, but fairly low HPs / gear scores), including both tanks. Wasn't going to give it too much thought, just planned to Stun eruptions on DRG and help them smash Ifrit to history since this is the first real trial of the game.

PLD starts initial pull and I go straight into Ifrit. Without too much trouble, I pull hate. I was expecting that in all honesty, so I Elusive Jump away and give the PLD a few more seconds to build hate before I jump right back into things. Ifrit at this time is going nuts, cleaving and breathing on random party members, so clearly the MT is having trouble holding hate.

After a few more seconds, I pull hate again.

Okay...

Without much recourse, I decide that it might be best if I just MT after all, to prevent unintentional cleaves and deaths. Like, there IS Novus WHM standing there, they should be able to solo heal this without issue, even on a semi-squishy DRG like myself.

Oh, then I die due to lack of heals.

I'm not quite sure how someone with a Novus and drops from Shiva EX and Turn 6 can be so... unattentive.

Welp, at least I got the best hate reset of all time thanks to that.

I'm back on my feet and I just go straight in, doing my thing and watching the WHM at work. WHM is eating random AoEs, taking two tackles to the face, just overall making me think "Just what are you doing?"

Oh, then the MT dies. Yep, just goes splat. I now have hate once again and Ifrit is pounding my face in.

Once again, I get hardly any heals (the new WHM gave me a 1.1K Cure II, which I'm thankful for) before the WAR OT takes Ifrit off me and tanks it in the middle.

Well, at this point Ifrit dies, but needless to say, I wasn't impressed with Mr. Novus WHM. I don't quite get how people can get such gearing and play so... poorly >.>;

I did WoD as whm yesterday and even though the other healer was better geared, I ended up doing the bulk of the healing and raising. When I died on Cloud of Darkness, someone in another party raised me even though the other healer in my party was both alive and not out of mana.

Uhm... Healing stories, yes. I didn't realize it was a thread about general trial/dungeon complaints. It was just surprising to me is all.

Anything that is going to cause the healer grief and makes their job harder is going to get posted here.

Well, I can't speak for anyone else here, but if I were to post about everything that caused me grief when I'm on heals, it'd probably crash the forums.

But really, most of my "horror" stories are downright mundane - tanks who tunnelvision on one mob and ignore the others chewing on me and/or the DPSes, nineball DPSes who can't figure out "red cone/circle of doom = MOVE!", and so on, and so on.

Running Zodiac dungeons, working on getting item from Aurum Vale.

Tank is synced from 120ish, yet fails to hold aggro against my Baned DoTs and appropriate use of heals while fighting the first group of mobs. I watch as my DoTs tick and I gradually increase from green to yellow to orange, and finally red.

Afterwards I politely ask him to at least flash a little more frequently so that I can help AoE. His response was "Yes please tell me how to do the job I been doing for 3 years."

As I'm buffing up I finally notice that he's missing something important.

"...Shield Oath, please."

Silence.

Later, he explains a boss mechanic to the party before engaging.

DPS: "Yes please tell me how to kill this boss that I been killing for 3 years."

I did Keeper of the Lake yesterday through the roulette and I was having a lot of trouble healing the tank. They were taking piles of damage and they weren't even holding aggro at all. I didn't understand it until... Yeah, no shield oath. I asked them to put it on and they did. She was really nice about it and just explained she was doing low level fates and forgot she didn't have it on anymore.


A side question: Anyone else here have to solo heal any of World of Darkness yet? I had to solo heal Five Headed Dragon and Atomos yesterday. It was... actually pretty fun. Only got 2 comms though. :(

I solo healed once or twice due to impatient alliances rushing ahead and locking people out of the boss fights.

Story 1 -
My and a few of my FC mates's first run in WoD a few days ago - luckily I got in with an awesome alliance who were patient with me and my FC mates since we didn't get to run it within the first few days (so we were the odd newbs). Did watch vid, though, so we weren't completely clueless... just unsure until seeing/doing it ourselves.

Anyway, we get to Cerberus and it comes to the phase where he had to be re-chained. My co-healer noticed that no one got the other chain, so she ran to get it before we would all wipe - and was killed in the process. On the other side of that field, I had an ADD on me that was going to town and not being picked off and making it difficult to heal myself AND the rest of the party AND the other alliance - in all the chaos, next thing I know ADDs spill out everywhere and come at me like a pack of rabid coyotes.... so of course I died. Then the rest of the group started going down. Of course we got the "wtf <allianceletter> lol" crap.
It was my first run, so I'm thinking to myself "What did I do wrong? Were we supposed to be elsewhere?" I mean, yeah, I obviously got mowed down, but... did we miss something? Were we supposed to be doing something else? Thats how chaotic this moment felt.

Come to find out that the alliance who's tank who'd been holding the ADDs weren't healing their tank and I'm assuming my regen/medica II (either from on my party picking off ADDs or possibly a regen on him - I don't remember but it's something I'd do when I see an alliance tank getting hit a lot) brought everything to me.

Story 2 -
Newer FC mate still building his first 50 had opened CT, and we figured the best interim gear while he's gathering tomes is in ST. This would also be the first time he'd done a 24-man raid, or anything like this in any kind of MMO. Really, his first ever raid. So of course we had to take him through LoTA to get there. This was while the new weekly CT runs is now a thing, so you have more people speed running it - along with the flow of trolls.
I and the rest of my FC that went were really rusty for LoTA as we tended to only poke around in ST often (it's just funner, to me >_> and faster) prior to WoD. And then the one new FC mate.
A.) Pulls so soon multiple times that multiple people were locked out more than once, including half an alliance and both of our tanks at Atomos (and then the 'lol omfg newbs' starts).
B.) I think there were more than just our FC mate in my alliance that were new or possibly just as rusty as we were - so we were instructing in real time about bringing the ADDs to us and staying on the platform. More "omfg <alliance letter> sucks/it's all <letter>'s fault" regardless the inform that we had new people. Piece of shit trolls (because it mattered not and only worked in their favor).
C.) We get blamed again at the last fight when not everyone got on the pads (.....I'll admit it... that including myself.... I got too used to Glasya's more telegraphed floaty hissy-sound >.> Too rusty at LoTA and got too focused on healing those that hadn't run for the pads to notice the cast bar) - However, when we all wiped I noticed my compass..... the other two alliances were all spread out all over the field NEAR their respective pads, but not on their pads -_-
Finger-pointing Trolls.

I felt bad for my FC mate. His first raid and it was riddled with extra bullshit and unwarranted heckling/assholism from people that dredge from the local sewer system. I'd read that LoTA had become infested with trolls, but we had no choice (and with the weekly, we'll continue to have no choice if we want that allagan coating >_>).
Luckily, ST was a much nicer experience for him.

I'm hoping WoD remains to have less complacency for trolls and idiots. Last time I went in for the weekly, a ninja in another alliance got kicked almost immediately for being one of those "Just pull. *immediately runs in, alone, and pulls the boss*" people, and nearly wiping all of the alliances at the very start, since hate proceeded to bounce everywhere before the tanks got it under control. It was amazing we pulled through from that.
"Never do that again. You nearly killed all of us." *Ninja poofs soon after*. I clapped happily at my screen. I'm assuming they got voted out.

CT speedrus. Yes, been here, done that.
Yesterday I was in the mood for tanking (still story about healers) so I quequed for CT. We had a memo about first-timers.
1st trash pull: valefors' tails pointed at other plats so bum - half of ppl dead. Ignores and mobs get burned down in the middle. Next trashes at same pattern + no wait for buff or rez.
Dragon: Tanks ignore each other completely. I'm used to be ignored as a tank being untill everyone is dead so I tank Behe, but this was completely different. They dont seem to bother that other tank is ALREADY kiting boney to the plat, they provoke and pull it to the same plat that they use to kill 1st boney. When Dragon is dead alot of boneys start to run to boss so we get hit hard. I felt for healers at this moment.
I hate that overgear hit people hard in the head and they think they can A) ignore mechanics AT ALL, B) think that EVERYONE is overgeared and ready for this, even if first-timer stuff pops up.

Back when I originally started I had only just gotten my WHM to 50 before I had to go on hiatus for various work/moving to Korea reasons. I finally got my computer back after 3 months and I decide to try out the level 50 dungeons. Unfortunately, by this time the speedrunning craze had become full-blown, so my first encounter with Wanderer's Palace was a horrible experience. The tank barely waited for buffs, and immediately proceeds to pull half the mobs in the first section. Of course I'm like "What the holy hell is going on!?" but I get chewed out by the party for 1) not knowing how to speedrun, and 2) having crappy gear. After the first wipe, the tank proceeds to repeat the SAME EXACT MANEUVER, and we wipe again. Needless to say, this was one of my least enjoyable runs. Speed running has since left a horrible taste in my mouth ever since, even though I've gotten a lot better at healing them.

I just... I don't know anymore. I have no trouble in dungeons, at all, but when you throw me a curve ball I'm not expecting... Just...

I got Qarn HM in roulette. And let's just say... wtf. I get the tank was new but he had literally 7k HP. I'm a WHM and I have 5k. I've been spoiled I guess, because I was not prepared for how squishy this tank was. We were doing fine, but there were a few issues that rose... I did miss a Bene during one point early on because I only got 1 Holy out and I realized he was already at like 10%. I couldn't even DPS on either of the first two Bosses because he would literally get 4 shot. We did fine on the bosses, and whatever, but we get to the last one... Okay so I am trying to add to our very low DPS, at least in the beginning, and I dance around the things I need to dodge, well... I realize soon that nope, still can't DPS at all. I have to keep my eyes peeled on the tanks HP or he will plummet into 0% faster than I can cast Cure. Oh, and this is no exageration, he was taking about as much damage as my Cure was healing him, so I couldn't even use Cure. I had to stick with Cure II. Like.. WTF. So all I am doing is casting Cure II's (some Cures when I get a chance) and Stoneskins on the tank and I eventually run very low on MP. I pop SoS and we wipe... Because I get mummified. I am very good at dodging in this game, I never have issues, but this was just... I couldn't believe how much had to focus on the tanks health bar. It was unreal. So we attempt again and this time the tank went from 100-0% in like 4 secondds when the boss started to do his combo attacks. I was like.. WTF? Okay... So I raise him but... he doesn't pull hate fast enough and we wipe. Like I had no idea what happened. Then he complains and swears at me saying that I should keep him alive, at least once. And saying I can't dodge shit. The ninja also turns into a jerk when I was trying to explain that I turned into a mummy before because I couldn't get away from his "red beam". He thought I was talking about the purple attack, but when I explained I meant the ability where the boss follows you around all he could say was "that's not a beam" (which actually turned the ninja into a mummy in the next fight soo...) The Bard said she would be "very mad" if he died again. The boss took incredibly long to kill, even with everyone dodging nearly perfect. Our DPS was horribly low, and I couldn't even help as I was stuck healing a paper thin tank. I did my job, but this time I made a habit of completely overhealing the tank, and casting regen every 10 seconds. I left without saying a word.

Basically it broke my spirit that I was healing the best I could with what I was given and everyone just pointed the finger at me. It wasn't the lack of DPs to kill the boss faster, it wasn't the tanks lack of HP and Def. No. It was my fault because he was dead and he shouldn't be that way. When I have 100 MP after SoS there is an issue.

As a point of reference the tank would drop from about 7k to 4.5k-5k with a single attack. My Cure heals 1.3k~. There would be points where I would be casting Cure, he would bump up to 6k and then drop to 3.5k, so I would have to switch to Cure II or the damage would keep compiling into death. If I have to move to avoid a mechanic it very difficult to heal.

When I don't even have time to cast Medica II during the boss' phase where he runs around and hits random party members with his combo, what am I to do? I can't spend the time to cast a cure on a DPS or the tank will die. All I could do was rely on Regen and hope they didn't get targeted again.

Doing my weekly for WoD Carboncoat last night, was doing it on SCH and was paired with a WHM who apparently only knew how to jump around like a fool and occasionally heal (usually with a Swiftcast Medica II when only the tank took damage), basically very trollish behavior and left the bulk of the work to myself. Also I think pushed a Dark Storm into Cloud of Darkness via Fluid Aura fur "lulz". Didn't even both to DPS or anything when we were locked in with the one add, and just kept jumping. She should've been named "I'ma Frog" or something.

I don't mind carrying a total newbie through a dungeon because they're genuinely new. But trollish behavior... yeah..
