Market Wards, enough is enough

After search by name everyone will give it a chance.

Market wards is already an Auction house... you need more casual "shopping time"... oh god.

I'm sorry, but no it f'in won't. It's a fundamentally flawed concept that has NO FEASIBLE SOLUTION. The amount of overhead that's incurred for trying to make simple transactions is a gigantic strain on server and client hardware; and it renders the whole system awkward at best.

I'll say it again for the millionth time: there is nothing that this system does, that couldn't be made better, faster, friendlier, and more convenient if they went with an NPC-less model.

Modeling gear. Retainers can do it. Menus cannot. There's something. :p

Being able to preview an item on yourself without equipping it on anyone isn't that hard to do.

Wrong, both Aion and WOW allow you to paint any gear on your character by Ctrl + Click.

Like how we purchased items or viewed history in FFXI. A generic "menu" button on the AH list brings up a menu from which you buy or preview an item (and whatever other options they decide to add).

In FFXI I did actually make money from Cooking (which was at 100) and Alchemy- people always had a demand for poison pots, prism powders, echo drops etc and were often too lazy to make it themselves. It is human nature to want convenience after all, especially if you are in a rush to get to an event or whatever.
I did also liked finding what I was looking for and purchasing it right there and then and having it in my inventory, yes.

I do not however demand that the current system has to be like that, I was simply taking into account some people's gripes and offering a compromise solution. :)

I don't actually mind the Market Wards, and with a few alterations and tweaks I think they will work out just fine.
I don't care if it is replaced by a FFXI AH type of system instead- i.e. direct purchasing and selling of goods from a counter, with gil being sent to a delivery box. As long as I can find what I'm looking for and go and purchase it, it doesn't bother me if I have to zone into a ward or get the item straight away. Not everyone shares this opinion though of course.

So then you aren't the target audience of my post.

People who crafted in XI are typically not the ones demanding an AH overhaul.

We ALL agree the Wards need to run more efficiently and search appropriately. There's no doubt about it.
