True, but when they bother with social media I don't think that's much better, if at all. lmao

Because getting "some" things the way you (or me) personally don't want somehow means they shouldn't be thanked for anything at all? I thank them because I thoroughly enjoy my time playing FFXIV. Every time I log in, I find I'm having fun, and even with limited playtime, I feel like I'm progressing a story and accomplishing something meaningful each day. It doesn't feel like an "experiment" at all. No game is ever perfect, but this one, frankly, feels darn close. The music is exquisite, the story has me engaged, I find the classes fun to play, people I play with are constantly doing things that I can join in on, and the list goes on. Yeah, the UI could use with a little improvement (the chat log in particular), but that doesn't somehow detract from everything else that rocks. What I'm tired of is people taking a video game ultra-seriously, then picking particular things they don't like and declaring the entire game objectively terrible because of it. It's such an immature viewpoint.
So your solution to make the game great is to have extra limited playtime so you can barely do anything at all and achieve anything, and that in your mind makes you feel "rewarded" and that the game is close to perfect ? This is the most delusional post I have seen on this thread
they have done a great job improving certain things but sure let us praise them and get them to feel like what the wow devs felt like and make them think they cant do anything wrong how did that go again bad content classes that were not balanced and oh the other thing that went to court because of what they were doing to the female workers ohhhhhhhh trust me the square enix devs are not snowflakes they can take some criticism
Way to paint the people wanting to thank the devs as believing that they're special snowflakes that dont need no man, nor criticism. How pathetic.
We just want to make sure we also acknowledge their work on improving the game. Nobody is trying to shush or silence the balance feedback as it is mostly warranted and obviously helps improve the game. Stop living in this fantasy la-la land where you believe that anybody who tries to put matters in grounded perspective is out to get each and every one of you for "criticizing".
If we're gonna be referring to specifically between 6.0 - 6.2. Here's some notable improvements I personally deem good.
1. Better aethernet shard travel with the map showing up on screen
2. Activate skills on press rather than selecting a target first. Widely makes combat a lot smoother, especially on controller imo
3. Lottery housing system; you can argue all you want about how housing is still horribly broken, because nobody is denying that fact. However in terms of "improvement" in regards to the method of obtaining a house in a limited plot system; buying a lottery ticket is so much better than camping out by a placard clicking it like an idiot for a magical time window.
4. Adventurer Plates; regards to having more options to express our characters; this is a fun addition to the game.
5. PvP overhaul. It was practically dead before 6.1 and the individual job reworks, CC and series rewards imo is a much welcomed change from its previous iteration.
6. ARR + HW (and future) MSQ dungeon and duty reworks. Improving the sprout experience with adding trusts to these dungeons, introducing boss mechs much earlier and overall presentation to many of the boss fights gives ARR a bit more consistency in regards to the quality presented in HW and beyond.
7. UI feature updates such as changing the cooldown timer
8. Compact view for Actions and Traits; helps new players better digest how each skill connect with one another as well as see its upgrades much easier.
9. Removed a couple of annoying fluff quests in the Ivalice raids.
10. You can actually preview a coffer's contents
11. Removing restrictions to a lot of the gender locked items
12. Added checkmarks to items you've already obtained once before; makes collecting a lot easier.
13. Condensed the crafting recipe UI
14. Hrothgar and Viera have more hairstyles
15. Map area markers are more visible
There's a lot more that Im sure I'm missing but lets try to stop acting disingenuous with acting like dev team dont do any literal work on improving the game.
1. Better aethernet shard travel with the map showing up on screen
Really ? Lol, it's a better map sure, should they be thanked for that as if they did a massive job ? Nope.
2. Activate skills on press rather than selecting a target first. Widely makes combat a lot smoother, especially on controller imo
Okay ? This is very minor.
Lottery made it easier for multiowners to get additional houses, thanks to new worlds as well for that, not sure in what world it's fixed or even improved.
4. Adventurer Plates; regards to having more options to express our characters; this is a fun addition to the game.
Irrelevant.
5. PvP overhaul. It was practically dead before 6.1 and the individual job reworks, CC and series rewards imo is a much welcomed change from its previous iteration.
Sure, PVP was put back to life a little and then it just died down again because of imbalance.
Irrelevant.
7. UI feature updates such as changing the cooldown timer
Really ? Lol.
8. Compact view for Actions and Traits; helps new players better digest how each skill connect with one another as well as see its upgrades much easier.
Sure.
9. Removed a couple of annoying fluff quests in the Ivalice raids.
Irrelevant.
10. You can actually preview a coffer's contents
How is this anything "major" or something they should be thanked for ?
11. Removing restrictions to a lot of the gender locked items
Sure, I'll give you that one, we are still light years behind in customization though and so many things are still locked, which shouldnt, opening 2 sets isnt helping anything.
12. Added checkmarks to items you've already obtained once before; makes collecting a lot easier.
Once again, it's so minor its literally irrelevant.
13. Condensed the crafting recipe UI
Okay.
14. Hrothgar and Viera have more hairstyles
They still cant even wear helms and hats.
15. Map area markers are more visible
Irrelevant.
