Well, what's the point of knowing the answer?

u make it sound like im desperate. Again to all of ya'll. That is not wat I'm aiming for here. I didn't put this topic just so i can hit on girls, get a girlfriend, get laid, etc. It just popped in my head, and i got curious and wanted ya'll opinion on it. so far I've hear it all, and thanks for sharing your opinions. it all makes sense to me now. Even though I don't like how ppl play the opposite sex cuz it doesnt feel real to me, that is just my opinion and ppl dont give a shit about other ppl's opinion. so why make a fuss about all this "hitting on girls" thing when its just a curiosity topic?
Actually me and my female friends are part of that "plenty" he talks of. It's okay if your gender comes up in a conversation that is on topic, but when people post stuff like "come to my gaming channel, hot chick gamer!", yeah, that's attention. When they shout "Will anyone carry this poor dragoon girl with them to clear Odin ; ;? Will give TIGHT hugs in bikini", that's attention and trying to take advantage of your gender. And sadly there's many of them out there.
I guess for me it comes down to:
I like people for who they are, not what they are.
I meet a Male Miqo'te or a Female Lalafell and the first thought that runs though my head is not 'omg are they really a guy/girl', it's 'this person is cool and I like them'. I can honestly say I have friends in game and I know their character, and I call them 'he' or 'she' based off what their character in game is, but I could care less if they are really a guy or girl in real life. In some instances I don't know what their real gender is and guess what, this might be a shock... I don't care.
If they want to tell me that's fine and up to them, but I honestly don't care. I like them for them, their personality and the way they act and treat others in game. Who cares who or what they are, as long as they are a good person they are fine with me. :)
it's very aggravating seeing people act like "normal" is the only thing that exists
especially when they have both been told multiple times by multiple people in just this thread, but also in just the very nature of the internet and it's spread of culture and information
That's just creepy... don't get me wrong I know people meet in MMO's and fall in love and get married and that is awesome when it happens!! :)
But if people are specifically playing MMO's to hit on people etc and don't like that guys play girls or vice verse - then go to a dating site and look for people there. I play this game to have fun, not to get hit on or harassed because players like that I play what I play, so feel its their job to make a move on me. :(
And no just because I play a female Miqo'te and just because I dress skimpy doesn't mean I'm asking to get hit on. It's because I like that look and it's how I dress her.
I guess the 25% was a bit dated. It seems to be around 33% now. The 40% just doesn't seem right though. If you look at these articles a little closer that 40% is never directly linked with MMOs. They artificially inflate that 40% by including "mobile games". Middle aged female gamers have skyrocketed since Farmville and Candy Crush were released.
And, I'm not talking about normal conversations or correcting people. I thought I already said that. There's a difference between being annoyed that some guy is calling you dude and telling everyone in a PUG that you are a girl for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
