Not really. If the F2P brought in higher populations, higher profits, they can easily drum up cash shop and game content.

Lower profits equals lower demand for new content, whether it's a F2P or P2P model.

I really think that F2P is a topic that deserves (and has many times had) it's own topic. Please try to keep to light chatter in here, or ideas/requests for pictures, as that is what this thread is for. If you really wish to have an in depth discussion about something as serious and complex as the various payment models of various games (all of which have many facets, both good and bad), please discuss it in a thread that either already exists on this topic or create one of your own. We're in a big forum here, not everything has to be in this thread, and I'm still concerned that you seem to be making a distinct effort to pull the thread away from it's purpose of light hearted fun.

New Game: I will say a topic. The next poster must use that topic as part of a story from their FFXIV experience. For instance'

Hamlet: My most memorable Hamlet run was when I pulled all the mobs as a crafter and kited a whole wave while everyone else widdled down the forces. I called it "Being a dragon. rawr"

I unlocked Dragoon. I thought it was gonna be a "new job" but it turned out to be just a couple new skills. Pretty lame

I'm game. Getting Drg: Unlocking Drg was pretty fun..tried by myself first no dice...had a guy help me the second a lvl 50 drg who beat the stupid out of the mobs and i knew right there...i was to be a drg

Not sure people are quite understanding the game aspect of it LOL Folks, you make a chain of topics ;P

Unlocking PLD: I heard you could solo all the level 30 job quests easily so I thought they were on par with the storyline quests. I went as a level 30 GLA to unlock its job and had me arse firmly handed to me by several level 30-35 foes if I recall correctly. Didn't know you could change classes inside the instance. Soon got my revenge as a THM though ^_^

As for why I started playing FFXIV, it's seriously eerily similar to Nique, like almost exactly except for preferred class/job... so I'm just gonna quote her

The only thing I might add is that based on the original concepts released to the public, I was also hoping for a slightly more technologically advanced world for an MMO, a bit like FF12 when it comes to say airship design and towering metropolitan cities like Archades. That part didn't really stay true though did it :(

Snurbles! I remember during the Tanaka era when EXP was random ToT we decided to go exploring and we went down deep into the ocean bits in LL and there was one lonely snurble. We killed it alot.

Inventory: always freaking full of gear sets and luminary crafting mats. I remember when the acessory reform came and I was excited to reduce the number of rings etc i carried but wound up having like double what I had before.

I levelled to 50 in some place that had a bunch of barriers you had to pass to get to the camp.

I can't remember more than that, but you guys probably know it.

MOST BORING. LEVELLING EXPERIENCE. EVER. In any game. Just awful.

Also, there was always people going AFK in my party. I'm talking like for an hour++.

Mhmm I can't recall. I suppose it was the lvl 40 leves spam. Dunes and the chicken one -_-

Most offensive? To be honest I couldn't give you one that I remember. I don't like the dumb ones like "Aaaaaa" and stuff.

supposed to be FATE Joined! but these Men In Black will drag me again...

My first companion was a mamas boy lalafell that royally peeved me off. It was only after finishing each quest and leaving the area that I remembered I could change him, but then it was always too late. I did a few quests with him before I finally remembered early enough to trade him in and I got a down to earth Roe. I liked him ^_^

Nothing. The whole game just sucked for me. There wasn't even an auction house.

If you mean my character, nothing. Everything was really easy.

I guess I was somewhat proud that I could run the game at 60+FPS, what with the horrible optimization lol

I don't remember, but the game required very little effort, and even with the VERY small amount of classes, they couldn't manage to get balancing right.

IIRC you could easily defeat anything by abusing certain Party setups.

WHM! I came back from a break after Jobs were introduced, and I knew exactly want I wanted to do. In the process of doing the quests, I ended up meeting my now good friend, and mischievous partner(in crime) Hamtaro. \o/

Prepare to unlock stuff. Yep, that's a first thing to do.

First thing I will do will be to organize my maxxed out inventory so I can actually do other things.

First thing I will do in ARR is party up with my LS members and go exploring and level Arcanist

I think it's Morys(of the Conjurers) I really enjoyed the Conjurers quests, and learning his story. Hildebrand was npretty enjoyable. And all the Job quests had good stories and NPC's too XD.

This was my first thought 2! U beat me to it =P
When we did the moogle fight, I use to try and stuff the moogles in my pouch and take them home to my Inn room
