Literally no one cares about JP except weebs. Majority of NA/EU players want to play together with each other.

I just say exclude JPN DCs from cross region DC travel, limit it to OCE-NA-EU.
Getting back on the issue, it appears that things are starting to stabilise however there are times where it'll log in with 400-500ms ping showing in the network section of resource monitor where pings to the IP address listed show what would be considered normal which requires logging out and back in until the data in resource monitor and command prompt are identical.
Glad its not just me then.... was about to spend hours on hold to my ISP.
Which is odd considering that I was getting around 140 at that time on Aether connected to an IP address that was giving 400 when pinged which is what I initially got on the first log in, but returning to the title screen and logging back in gave normal ping levels with the only difference when looking at the resource monitor at the time was the difference in ping at the character selection screen (the first log in the ping was at over 400 where the second attempt it was around 150) so there is a possibility that ping is being carried from the hub IP address to the server IP address.
However, that wouldn't explain the increase in ping in the traceroute the moment (or a hop or two after) it goes from the NTT nodes in the UK to the NTT nodes in the US unless getting normal ping is 100% RNG based at the moment.
Edit: It does appear that there's a lot of RNG at the moment as to if you'll get what would be considered normal ping or not as I just had to log out and back in on one character on Crystal 4+ times before the data from ping tests in command prompt and what I was actually getting matched up, so currently it is going to be a case of returning to the title screen and logging back in to get normal ping (going by the connection quality on the character selection screen doesn't help as I got a good once that ended up being 400+ ping).
I usually have 160 ping playing from EU to NA and now its around 450.
I hope they add NA/EU DC travel for times like now because this is getting ridiculous.
The worst is that there is no acknowledgement or communication from SE about this, like i dont know if they are working on this or if they are even aware which makes it very frustrating.
For anyone saying "just make a new EU character lol" i would rather quit the game than restart the 10.000+ hours i have invested into my character, not to mention friendships and everything else.
Anyway here's my traceroute if anyone is curious :(

The one they listed on the site is most likely the NA lobby server or a random world in the 3 DC and not the one you're actually on. But, like you said the one you want to send the trace route on is the one that the resource monitor show.
I'm also connecting from the EU as well, it all point to within NTT network is the cause of the issue. I have single digit latency leaving the country and soon as it arrives to state side of NTT, it jump to 350+ and by the time it reached the server it adds another 100ms on top.
Pretty much its unplayable without losing your sanity.
Adding to the pile, also UK player on NA servers, 184 is my usual ping, but since August 24th combos have been breaking, rolling my GCD smoothly is next to impossible, crafting macros are unusable. Playing like this is kind of miserable because single weaving can cause clipping but I'm in a static and have to do reclears on Tuesday. It's unfortunate that this happened right as the support staff got their holiday time.
I think what feitochan is saying might be right.
I actually noticed it a day before it became an issue for days on my end. I remember after daily reset I did Frontline only to notice it was unplayable due to action delays (hadn't done anything in-game before FL, so I didn't know there was an issue until then), so I went to Aether thinking it was a Primal issue but nope, no changes. I went to Crystal after that, again, no changes. I believe I logged into my EU alt then to check if there was a problem but of course, everything ran fine. I went back on my main, return to my home world and wow, everything ran fine. So I thought it was temp. server issue on NA side and didn't think anything of it... until I logged in the next day... and the next...
However today, RNG has blessed me with the ability to play on my NA main. I've done quite a few Frontline matches without problems. It's really weird. I don't want to log out now... (._. )
Had good ping yesterday all day (amazing tbh), however today at about 11 AM BST the ping ramped up to 500 ms, then dropped back to my usual 170ms. I suppose most people went to sleep or something but goodness gracious, playing 500 ms while doing Nier as mentor is excruciatingly awful.
Another day another NTT headache. It was normal for a little while earlier with 160-170 ping but then it started to go back up for no reason because why not.

I dont want to spam but i also want to keep engagement up on this issue in the hopes that it will somehow make SE acknowledge the problem.
Like just a small statement saying they know there is a problem, its so disheartening not knowing if this is going to be a permanent thing that they dont even know exist or care about.
I was kicked off last night 4-5 times, and often had periods where nothing would respond for 20+ seconds. I lost many cast attempts during Ruby Dragon thanks to this. Here's my response graph from last night and into early this morning (each time a request bottoms out, the given data center did not respond):

It seems like it's back to normal for me this morning.
Edit: it started up again right as I got home to play, at 4:26 PM this evening. Kicked during a raid with a 90006 error as usual.
Managed to actually get on today (2pm gmt) with around 300ms which is playable but still not the best, very much expecting it to drop out again when the majority of NA has woken up; just annoying that we haven't heard anything from SE about this, especially since it's it's during the 10yr anniversery event.
Welp it was only a matter of time, Warp is now causing 90k errors regularly just as I read would eventually happen. If it continues the game isn't just figeratively unplayable, it literally is.
Just to update, as of this morning, my ping seems to have improved again and my latency to NA seems to have normalized.
This is the first time since the issue first occurred that my latency is that far down again.
My traceroute, just for reference: (blanking out the closest IPs of mine for privacy)

Yesterday I had high ping during the day, about 11:30 AM BST. Happened during my mentor run in Paradigm's Breach, and clearly I wasn't the only one as many EU peeps along had the same issue. It was very difficult to do any fight when buttons didn't register at all. However, nearing completion, my ping stabilized and it was so for the entirety of the day until I went to sleep, so it seems they might be doing something?

It seems to be still happening during the night, however that's where more or less I'm about to go sleep. This one happened at 1:30 AM my time (which is about 12:30 AM BST). It's weird how it skyrocketed to 530 ms in 1 second lol.

I'm curious if sending those tracert reports at highest ping helps? It sure somehow did for me, though I'm not sure if it's because of the reports or if they're fixing the issue behind the scenes. I sent those reports every 30min - 1h.
Oops, guess I jinxed it

The EU players in my NA static are getting 800-1k ms pings. It is unplayable and we couldn't raid...
They used to have 160-250ms. Not great but fights got done. But not gonna play with how bad it suddenly got.
In US on a regional ISP and getting random horrific stutter because the San Jose NTT node keeps dropping packets.
Imagine being a paying customer but can't play the game unless you have vpn on.
Are you guys by chance EU players? Apparently this is happening to all EU players in the past few days. every one of us is lagging really hard. all my EU friends are lagging pretty badly.
EU player on NA here too, I've had similar issues for a bit over a week now too. Yesterday it was mostly alright, with ping spiking around this time yesterday for about an hour, then going back to normal, then spiking again in the EU evening for another hour or two.
Seems to be spiking again today, at roughly the same time as it first did yesterday, hopefully the "going back to normal" pattern will repeat itself too.
is anybody aware of any progress towards solving this or are we doomed to give up our mains and friends behind?
I am also a EU player on an NA server and the game is almost unplayable lately, it's heartbreaking. :(
I've been on a legacy server since 1.0 and my friends and my house are on Excalibur, I do not want to have to move servers.
Seemed to clear up yesterday, now its back to 425ms :/
Can also confirm this seems to be back. Was cleared up for me (at least during the times I played) for about a week
Same here, got back to normal the last four or so days, now its back to being awful again, yaaaaay
It's been fine the last few days. But we'll see.
Been unable to play for about 2 weeks, are the servers working again? Rather not spend money on a sub if I can't play the damn thing
Tha lag is back, been like this for 2 days.
I thought the issues had returned for my ISP, but turns out a Windows Update caused the "service host network service" to have high network usage via "delivery optimization" in Windows 10.
Went to check my retainers and noticed my ping was above 110ms, so I did a traceroute and it showed much higher ms on nodes well before NTT, so that told me something else was afoot. Then I opened Task Manager, and saw the culprit was indeed a Windows program called "service host network service" was gobbling up way more bandwidth than necessary.
So, after some YouTube searches, I used the command prompt "sfc /scannow" and that cleared up some files that must've been corrupted during the recent Windows Patch Tuesday. Took a few minutes to run, so some patience was required.
One restart later, and my latency's back to normal for FFXIV (around 59 to 64 ms).
Not sure if that'll help anyone else here, but it never hurts to check your PC to see if any Windows Updates of late messed with something. Chances are, knowing Microsoft, that's always a possibility.
