Funny, in the Japanese forums the reps AND yoshida make lots of replies when they have discussions in the appropriate forum.... I see lots of posts with crowns on them in items synthesis and gathering forums there. Really, just take a look http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/forums/72 . I suppose its our reps fault for spoiling us ; ;.

As far as the repair stones of infinity goes, I have no problem with them so now I can base my gear off stats and appearance instead of repair mat rarity.

honestly, if they have this system, I don't know why each profession wont just be able to use these Dark matter to make level and profession appropriate REPAIR KITS that they can sell. This would move the repairing economy far quicker than having both PCs to be physically making a repair transaction.

The could sell these REPAIR KITS through their retainers and DoW/M classes can purchase and be able to repair in the field?

Also instead of dark matter, they could add duct tape. duct tape fixes anything.

Just like NA forum the JP forum is asking why is the repair item Dark Matter? they feel that Dark Matter is unknown element in previous FF series and doesn't match as a repair item. Also Dark Matter being some item you get towards end of the game in other FF series, why is it going to be a common item in FF14?

Boar Leather Spetch - 500
Cotton Fent - 1000
Canvas Fent - 270
Linen Fent - 750
Velveteen Fent - 1000

So, taking those common materials, roughly cost 1000 for r20-50 equipments, and roughly about 300 for r1-20. Lets see how much dark matter is going to sell for when the patch goes live and settles in after a week or two. Lets hope it's around 1k all around for grades 1-5.

Thankfully, SE prices for grades 1-3 Dark Matter is reasonable. It matches roughly the cost if not lower for repairs materials pre-patch 1.18. However, prices for 4 and 5 cost twice and four times as much as one would pay for repairs respectively for the materials alone. Don't forget, I didn't add tip cost if you were asking someone else to repair. I'm speaking solely about the repair materials themselves.

You can see the price increases exponentially from rank to rank. So, you can just imagine what the price would be when we break free of the r50 cap.

Here's the price from the NPC selling Dark Matter ;
(anyone that is selling it on bazaar over that price is ripping people off)
Grade 1: 100 gil
Grade 2: 600 gil
Grade 3: 1,500 gil
Grade 4: 2,800 gil
Grade 5: 4,500 gil
