Man, I'm glad I'm not the only one getting this. Leveling my PLD in Haukke Manor the other day was an exercise in frustration due to NINs doing this.

Pretty much like everyone said, Titan HM is a pain in the ass, so don't worry too much :D I still somewhat have trouble with Titan HM after so much time (but moreso from the WoTLs and apparent true-position lag... other times I'm just blinded by the effects of explosion smoke and flying dirt)
The bombs get annoying and it's frenetic enough even without the dang things flopping down in random patterns.
I just go towards where the last bomb dropped and wait on it - then watch where the first bomb(s) explode - after that I run towards the bomb that exploded first (just don't get caught in the one(s) exploding next to it). Easy with the pie wheel layout dropping singularly - just running to the middle then running to the first exploded spot - but more annoying when they drop by pairs/groupings (of say, three at a time...).
There is an awesome youtube tutorial on this fight, by Mister Happy, that tells you about the multiple boulder bomb layouts that will drop down, and what you should do for them :)
Pretty much every roulette since yesterday, It's been "pnch me in the face and violate me with a winebottle, MORE MORE MORE!!!" tanks in dungeons. Never asking if healer can handle big pulls, they just charge in to receive their beloved pain. As a Sch, I have no problems with big pulls, but be able to handle what you pull. When you're at half life and dropping fast, STOP-FUGGIN-PULLING!!! Let me heal your retarded ass, because it's gonna take all of my cd's and full attention to keep you alive, TANKS.
Mythflox was the start of all of this, and it's becoming seriously annoying. And if there's a Blm in party...God forbid 2...Tanks now literally grab all mobs up to the boss room, or damn close to it...then their HP drops like a sack of potatoes and they blame Blm then me. Fire 2 and Flare have long cast timers, and I can't heal stupid. This has been getting worse by the day.
I hear you there. Had a 2 BLM group get mad at me in Qarn when I "wasn't using holy enough," even though my MP was starting to get low from sloppy pulls and the tank kept letting adds get on me. The BLMs didn't seem all that strong either, although I could be wrong about them. It's like people automatically assume that 1 WHM + 2 BLM = autowin. The tank still has to put in some level of effort or it isn't going to work. Besides that, I've just seen sloppy things in the new three dungeons like tanks standing in almost every AOE and unnecessary dragging of mobs (in the time it would take you to drag a group of mites and vipers all the way to the guardian and his hands, it would be easier to just kill them and not risk the possibility that key party members will be grabbed at the absolute worst time when a bunch of stuff is trying to kill us!).
Again, I don't mind big pulls either, but please tanks... be smart about it. Don't get angry when I have to scale back my use of holy, either.
I had a Qarn run earlier today levelling my SCH where the tank couldn't hold aggro and died a couple of times because Eos was busy healing the rest of the party while I was trying to keep the poor fairy alive. The NIN in the group had the audacity to call me out on DPSing, even though I was doing everything I can to keep the party healthy and recover from mistakes on my end while trying to keep others alive from theirs. SOR-RY for trying to help clear that disaster of a run faster so we could all be on our way.
Why do people bitch at healers for contributing to DPS? Without it, they just twiddle their thumbs until a party member's HP reaches low amounts. It's so frustrating to deal with and I won't have any tolerance or reservations towards the next ignorant prick who tells me to stop playing the role properly.
Was horror at the very start, the rest of the dungeon was smooth as butter.
Did a high level roulette on my alt's WHM. Base thyrus as my weapon and af1.5 equipment (i90 stuff).
I do my normal routine, protect, stoneskin, move with the group. Tank stops and checks my gear then proceeds to pull the first group.
Then the second.
...And then pulled both groups to the final room.
The tank used Hallowed Ground, I healed her up and popped stoneskin on her before HG wore off. Then Cure 2 spam. Wasn't enough, Divine Seal! Barely able to keep up. DS wears, Presence of Mind! Working as well as DS was. ...But then it wore. Benediction fail, tank dies. Managed to keep the BRD/DRG up for another mob or two before I finally took hate and died.
The tank had respawned ahead of the rest of us and ran in again without waiting for at least me. SoS was down, I had enough MP to heal a bit. Buuuut tank died again anyway because she didn't wait for everyone, then I died again because I healed.
I really despise these "Go go go!" Tanks in any game they more often than not just get themselves killed by biting off more than they can chew. Some Tanks i know can handle it and they know what they are doing. These mad dog tunnel vision types are the absolute worst ones you can get. Then when they die and then die again because they ran in without even waiting for the Healer to put protect on them they start screaming and calling the Healer bad. In a random party the first thing you should be doing is seeing what your party can handle if you clean up the first few mobs in seconds then move on to bigger pulls don' just expect to pull huge and survive. I'm usually trying to figure out how competent the Tank/DPS are on the first couple of pulls
I was running ST quite a few times yesterday (I ended up stopping after getting raider's derp/fatigue -ie pressing wrong buttons, derping mechanics you just did a million times, etc-, taking a break, then attempting to return on monk..... just as the disconnect madness started to ocurr) on my WHM....... and I keep finding myself supporting both my party and some other Alliance's party, every other run.
Does anyone else end up like this, when running ST/Labrynth? Or is the general mindset just, "not my party, not my problem"?
I noticed this after watching an alliance tank MTing a trash mob take a proverbial arrow to the knee. Tossed regen on the fella like normal.... he was... running pretty low... threw a few cures. Okay, maybe the their healers were doing something, I was just glancing at the Alliance tank's HP to see who's MTing. Glanced again... super low HP. Cure spam him again. I see it going down again... I'm thinking to myself, "ahahaha.....*nervous laugh* They'll cure spam him, don't micro-manage anyone other than your party..." Sliver HP left at next glance. Ohshitted a bene - too late. Mob just comes spppeeewwwing out onto everything and wipes half the room. After that, I started noticing this trend and trying to keep that from occurring again. Which I hate to not be able to trust the other alliances and start any bad habits on myself (by focusing too much on the alliances and not enough on my own).
Of course, my party always takes priority - but I've had to take care of alliances members (tanks, mostly) almost like they're additional members to my own party (aka, they weren't getting enough from their own).... when I notice their HP bars just dropping like flies and left that way... Consistently... through out the whole raids. o_O I don't mind new people to the raid that may struggle a little, nor now and then throwing a raise or a cure spam or extra regen on another alliance's tank (I do on whom ever is MTing/getting damaged anyway) as a helping hand since shit does hit the fan, but I do mind when I end up having to super-babysit their alliance, on the side, when ever I have the chance. I just want to say, "There's two of you and nun'na you guys can keep an eye on your tank?".
Luckily, the parties I've been in have been easy to keep fairly healthy with only one or two cases where shit was hitting fans (like the aforementioned mob drop) but we recovered well enough.
And don't get me started on ninjas.... I have no idea why, but they're always the first to either flop on the floor like dead fish, or take massive damage at all times.... super low def, or just suicidal mindsets...? o_O
I heal other alliances when I can afford to, otherwise my party comes first. If the other alliances' healers are not doing their jobs, then I refuse to pick up their slack.
I have a couple of stories, last week I was healing Qarn HM, one dps was new, no big deal. Didn't really wipe or anything until the last boss. The tank didn't wait for one of the dps to watch the cutscene and ended up locking them out. I was dpsing but the boss' HP was still going down reeeeeally slow. Plus the tank kept getting mummified. We ended up wiping, which is fine. Next try the tank and new dps kept getting mummified. The tank ended up dying somehow and right as I rezzed him (which was right away) he went back to the entrance. I know it was an accident, but still lol. We still managed to beat him, I tanked the boss and kept everyone alive. It was pretty rough though!
Other story, I just got out of Sastasha HM with a tank in full myth gear trying to speedrun it. Now, I think that a lot of the trash in there and Qarn hits really hard...and some tanks don't seem to know how many mobs they can handle. When I saw them keep running after they pulled the first group all I could think was, "Oooooh, don't do that.." I've seriously never seen a tank's HP go down so fast, and it was only two groups. It's pretty much habit now for me to put up Shadow Flare, DoT's and Bane, I shouldn't have this time, because they ended up dying...pretty much in record time lol...Physick wasn't doing anything, everything was on CD from the first pull. And I never have issues in these new dungeons, I've also never had anyone die because I was stance dancing. After they rezzed they said "Baby pulls it is" I felt bad, but I ended up leaving. An overzealous tank with an attitude, low dps...It just wasn't going to end well, and I just don't feel like dealing with that today lol. I can admit that I messed up by even trying to put up DoT's, but the tank might want to stick with "Baby pulls" until they can handle bigger ones.
It's sort of situational but i'll heal the MT always if they are in another party and support a group who has a healer frozen or dead where i can. Sometimes my party is so good that i can leave them with medica II and heal the rest of the raid. You should be able to see what is happening around you to know if others need help.
My first time in Pharos Sirius.. I queued with a friend, and we got the perfect party! All four of us were new, but friendly and patient. Sure, we wiped a bunch, but after each wipe, we had a little strategy chat to see what we noticed and come up with ways to get past it. It was the nicest duty finder party I've come across yet!
The horror comes when we got to the final boss.. get buffs up, run in.. I go to heal tank.. Does nothing.
Well, there are zombies.. maybe the debuff prevents healing..? Try again, nothing.. Leeches, nothing.. Well crap, try to heal myself, nothing..
See in party chat.. "Oh no, healer is having connection issues"
;_; It was such a nice party, that even with me suddenly being hit with terrible awful lag, everyone was patient and still kept trying.. I even tried spamming succor, figuring maybe some aoe healing going through would work better than no healing..
..and then, when my connection got so bad that I was kicked from the game. My friend texted to let me know they were still going to wait for me, and I should try to reset my modem to see if it helped. Reset modem, router, ps3.. no go. Barely got back into game and everyone told me not to worry, but then I got kicked again and couldn't log back in. I feel so bad for "letting down" the party, especially since everyone was so nice about it. No clue why my internet went wonky, either..
Its an horror story, but not for the same reason.
I did ST as a SCH last night. I find ST a good place to practice Cleric Stance dancing, especially when there is a WHM in the party. So on the second boss, the WHM get a bit mad and shout "Mind helping me with healing", "Get off Cleric stance you ****". When there lot of damage to the whole party I get off cleric and help a bit, but when is everyone is full, it's a waste to stand there, when WHM is full of mana...
Then his BRD friend die, and the shitstorm start. I insta rez him and I get even more insulted. I explain to them that if I help with the dmg without no body dying, the run only go faster, so I dont see the problem. And they keep telling me to learn to play, that there is enough DPS and that they are "new cool players" so I should listen to them.
I ran ST at least 25 time in the past 2 weeks so I know the fight. It just upset me being pushed around because I'm trying to be a better player instead of waiting around.
A lot of players are ignorant of the fact that stance-dancing on SCH is a very low-difficulty exercise and assume that because you are in CS that you intend to stay that way at all times.
I hate when that happens D: A super feeling of 'helpless to do anything' while sitting there watching.... (I guess data is being received but nothing going out? I've had this a few times... watching my party do things, move around, and HP go down, but nothing I do/heal effects them - and then end up disconnected). My net does that in angry spurts. *Punts RCN*
But don't worry - it happens. The only way you would let the party down is if it was a purposeful quit/ragequit. Which it wasn't :)
Okay, then it's not just me derping and over-reaching into territory (other alliances) I shouldn't be (...though the last set of experiences have left me untrusting x_x)
Yeah, I don't mind helping alliances, just not when I find myself solo healing them (like in the trash-mob-tank-to-the-knee instance) on top of supporting my own party with my healer partner x_x
Today in Hullbreaker Isle, tank started looking at me, checking my gear (iLvl109), and I had bad premonition. Yes, crazy speed run by whole way.
Even both dps received damage during pull. But with luck I kept all alive. And after kill all tentacles, gave commendation for bard. I never give commendation for a tank doing speed run.
I think the good thing with ST is you get that first big mob pull to get a look at your party to decide how you will play. See what the other healer does if they are over healing and if party members take pointless damage. Sometimes for me the other healer can manage on their own so we end up just sort of swapping roles between damaging and healing solo it kind of works but takes your healing partner to have a brain. Seen everything from healers over healing when it's not needed to a hell party that takes damage from every AoE that you struggle to keep up so no time to damage and then you still get yelled at because half the party is dead.
So I finally got around to unlocking my "High Level Roulette", after playing the game for 8 months. Before I started working on my books I had 3 dungeons in the list that I hadn't run. "Pharos Sirius", "Copperbell Mines (Hard)" and "Haukke Manor (Hard)". I ended up doing both Copperbell and Haukke for my books, and decided to go ahead and do Pharos so that I could finally do the Roulette.
After running the Expert Roulette’s for so long, I was not used to the low level entry point. The run starts and the Warrior announces that he is new. I also state that I’m new. We have a BLM and a NIN in the run with us and myself the Scholar. I didn’t look at the gear at first and proceeded to do the run. My typical routine is to flip over to Cleric Stance and apply some dots and then spread them with Bane. By then it’s usually time for me to turn off Cleric Stance, and apply some heals as the tank has probably taken some hits by then. So I start to do that, and notice that that warrior is already down to 25% of his health. No problem, I heal him back up. The run goes “slowly” with the Warrior being very “squishy”. It was something I didn’t notice at first. It seemed like every time I watched his health he seemed to hold his own, but as soon as I took my eyes off of him, He would fall quickly.
I eventually examined him, and noticed that most of his gear is in the 50-60 ilvl range. I look at the one BLM and his gear is 110-120 and myself with 110. No wonder this run feels strange. I think the BLM was more on the ball then I was and was actually slowing down his damage output, so that the WAR could keep hate. We get to the first boss “Symond the Unsinkable”. The first try I loose the WAR. I’ll admit I did attempt to do some DPS so that might have been it. The throw a raise on the WAR and start healing the NIN who has the hate. The WAR runs over and is apparently unable to get back the hate from the NIN. The NIN goes down and then the WAR get’s back the hate. I don’t have switfcast anymore since I used it on the WAR. We get the boss down to about 25% and end up wiping because the adds became to much. We try again, and this time the NIN mentions to the WAR that he needs to move the boss out of some of the AOEs on the floor. The WAR doesn’t say anything but does make an effort to move the boss. This time we are able to defeat him. I’ve given up on doing any DPS. I’m just watching the WAR as he stays healthy and then in a blink he is down to 25%.
We get to the 2nd boss “Zu” and the NIN explains that we should only kill one egg at a time when the hatch. This fight is sort of a blur to me, I do know that the first time we wiped on it. The NIN states, “I said only kill one egg at a time”, and then is gone. Maybe it was a DC or maybe he was just frustrated. The rest of us go to the 2nd boss and another adventurer joins us. I think he was a NIN. He is also new to the dungeon and get’s turned around on level 2 (he didn’t know where the stairs were, and was running back to the entrance). I bring up the map and help him through his confusion and get him to us. Once again we attack Zu and this time only kill one egg at a time when they spawn.
We get to the door keeper “Tyrant” and get by him. So now we are at “Siren”. Even though I’ve only watched a video for the dungeon, I mention, when the boss leaves head to the center. She will either do a line AOE or and area one. If she does the line get out of the center otherwise stay there. We proceed to do the fight and the I think only the BLM was picking up the adds. Also every time Siren left the arena, the NIN would run in random patterns. We ended up wiping once again. We are 3 for 3 at this point, we’ve wiped on every boss we fight. So we group back up. We reiterate the fight, and mention that the adds should be burnt. We go at it again. I’m still only healing. The fight is hectic and at one point both the WAR and the NIN take damage. I’m focusing on the WAR trying to keep him alive, and luckily the NIN recognized this, and actually stopped attacking and moved to a safe spot. He waited for me to stabilize the WAR and then for me to get his life back up, and then resumed attacking. I think he was sitting at only 150 hit points or so. I also realized that I could kite the crawling adds so that would give the others more time to burn them down. We get the boss close 5% and I reach the point of "this boss has to die". Everyone is good, and I have 3 stacks of Atherflow with it off cooldown. So I just start energy draining the boss. That along with the rest of the damage, is enough.
All in all the only thing that really went against us was the fact the WAR was more or less at the level for the dungeon and didn’t out gear it like the rest of us did. It was a interesting run to say the least. But hey I’ve now unlocked the high level roulette so it works.
Like to preface this by saying, I don't believe all tanks, or even the majority are similar to the one in my story.
That said, I am noticing a growing trend of Paladin tanks who are now suddenly above using their defensive cooldowns.
Case in point, I'm running Sastasha HM. Tank was probably around the i111 range as he was full Soldiery gear plus one or two of the Ironworks pieces. Still, gear doesn't make up for bad practices. He decides because I am also i111 that apparently we are going to speedrun Sastasha.
Well, I'm not crazy about speedrunning, but I've gotten used to it. Well, he decides to start chain pulling amounts I've never seen done in Sastasha HM yet, we're talking pulls with mobs in excess of +10 enemies. While, that would have been taxing enough on me given I had no experience speedrunning the place, the PLD decides that he isn't going to use a single defensive cooldown, and also goes Sword Oath to, in his words "speed up the pulls".
(continued)
So, not only does it put greater strain on healing him because he doesn't have his permanent 20% defense boost, he won't cycle cooldowns and also can't hold hate away from the DPS.
After wiping on a few mob pulls he stops and starts blaming me in chat for letting him die. I try to explain to him it would help if he would go into Shield Oath and rotate his cooldowns. Then I get a message that was pretty much like: I shouldn't have to use my cooldowns unless I'm paired with shitty healers, like you. I should be able to DPS, but you can't seem to do your job at all.
Now, I try to be relax about these things as I can. I mean.. it's a game. But I do get a bit offended when I get called a bad healer because it's something I've prided myself in for years. So, I lashed back at him. He and I fight in party chat for a couple minutes, he drops and then we pick up a new tank and clear the instance with no trouble... just ugh.
Moral of the story, if you tank actually... you know... tank.
I'm fine with clumping a few mobs together if you have a BLM/BRD or two, but I was doing Qarn HM earlier with my SCH and the Tank ran off as soon as we had all loaded in and proceeded to round up literally every mob up to the first boss room.
Ofcourse, we wipe and the healer abuse begins. The tank then proceeds to start being incredibly childish and pulls 1 mob at a time and just stands in front of it. That run took almost an hour....
That Tank sounds very familiar though i won't name names since i could be banned for it and it's rude. In this situation best thing to do is just sit down and refuse to heal so they kick you and get another group it will take a couple extra minutes to find a new group. There are a couple of Tanks I've encountered in DF that do really ridiculous things then get abusive if they die from it. One of their favorite things to do often is to not aggro mobs properly as they run around finding more mobs so if i try to heal them on the run half the mobs charge at me and kill me and guess who's fault that will be. There are competent Tanks out there who can handle the big pulls properly but a lot of them their ego is bigger than their skill.
My main is White Mage (my only Lv.50 Job war/magic, iLevel 110 - all Lv.50 crafter), and I'm an active healer (never been on standby).
My story is from a perspective of a Paladin. So I wanted to do my daily low level roulette as a Paladin, in very early hours I was grouped with a Rouge, a Thaumaturge, and a Whitemage. Since myself and (probably) the WHM disabled 'cut scene' we are waiting the other DPSs to finish them to engage into battle.
As I waited, I casted StoneSkin on myslef (PLD), and WHM. The same time she (whm) casted Protection which only hit me & her, since DPSs CS didn't finish yet. when they were done, I casted SS on them and waited the whm to re-cast protection. 10 seconds no response. I said: "Hello", DPSs replied, but not the WHM.
I pulled the first two mobs, I noticed the whm: 1. didn't cast protect, 2. didn't heal normally**, 3. her 'pose' changed as "idle".
I asked her: "can you cast protect on the guys?", as I pulled the next group of mobs. Nope, nothing. I checked her character: WHM (only 50), with most gears from ST, legs and feet were Lv.55 (Green gears), Atma Thyrus. I wanted to dismiss her as a "Cheater" assuming she was a bot, because she tends to fix her position and don't move a lot. My attempt failed since at least 5 minutes should be gone before dismissing is available.
After 5 minutes were done, I voted dismiss as "Harassment", both DPSs voted in favour, she's out. We are on DF again, and guess who is back?? The same WHM!! Then it struck me, she was doing the dungeon for books. She was idle as we waited, then after a minute or so she wrote: "Seriously!?" and she came by again.
I asked her again: "Can you please cast protect on the THM & ROG?", she replied: "Are you dying?" (Meaning that its not necessary nor vital). So I replied: "with all my respect you're no better than a healing /follow healer", she said: "instead of wasting time, let's go". I said: "sure, I will go". I hit "Leave Duty".
I'm a White Mage; I heal, support and monitor, and this person is a WHM of Lv.50, not a healer! I feel sorry for the DPSs, I never thought there are really jerk healers out there!
** a healer's job is healing, yes. The above Whitemage was idle most of time and ONLY healing if my HP drops to 15%, fill me up and stand idle again. If I weren't moving like a humming bird I would have 100% KO.
If she don't want waste time, join on cleric. I hate myslef to be idle. I respect a WHM that let me die because he/she was fighting, or a WHM trying hard to over-heal, but NEVER a freaking idle-WHM.
On my femRoe alt, who mains scholar, my first run of Sastasha HM was with a paladin who stayed in Sword Oath. He said "If you can pull hate from me, I'll switch to Shield Oath." I think the DPS were a ninja and a black mage. He did put on Shield Oath for the bosses, though. So it's not really a horror story that much.
I was doing High Roulette with my scholar, and Hullbreaker Isle pops up.
as soon as the dungeon starts i see the soldiery bonus message
we get to the gorilla, one of the dps starts feeding him with ALL the bananas. at the same time.
I try to heal as much as I can, but I get d/c while the gorilla has something like 5 stack xD
everyone respawn at start of the dungeon, and then the drg starts saying "first time, guide us"
well, kinda a bit late, but still xD
I explain how the bosses works, but he still does the exact opposite of what I tell him.
when we get to the kraken, I explain to move to another platform when he gets targeted by the tornado...
NOPE.
I spent the entire fight casting more raise then cures.
it was like "oh, the drg is dead, I'll raise him" -->dragoon resurrected--->on another platform the Ninja got hit by another tornado---> raise the ninja---> oh look the drg is dead again--->raise--->uh, ninja's dead.
it was actually kinda funny, but @___@
Wow... I do believe that would be a sort of 'wtfwhm' right there... it doesn't even sound like they knew what Protect even did. 'Idlewhm'. xD
There are most definitely jerk healers out there .... I came out of a trial with one not too long ago (I was on WHM also, so it was my fellow healer). After the trial was beaten, they proceeded to condescendingly start lecturing a SMN not to heal, because it was 'not their place for their little 200 heals' and so on.
I honestly didn't notice the SMN healing much (I was too focused on the broader view of the party's HP). If he was doing nothing but healing, then that's a little weird - maybe a little annoying at a loss of DPS.... but I don't think the choice of words the other healer used, and continued to use, were necessary.
People are people...
Its weird when tanks do this. Shield oath reduces incoming damage by 20%, giving you as a healer far more opportunities to dps. Quite often, the tank is reducing overall dps if they are not in their tank stance since the pressure on the healer to just heal is increased significantly. O.o.
Anyway my horror story, farming turn 4 for allagan mats, get a tank who is clearly spiritbonding gear, NQ crafted armour, their defence was slightly higher than my whm. Would have been fine if this wasnt coupled with their ego which said "i must MT". Dreads bascially murdered them so bad i was chain casting cure 2's all the time.
My horror stories happens at almost every duty I get on low level.
As a WHM, when duty starts and a millisecond after, another class start casting stoneskin or protect, is quite upsetting, because I feel like I had being paired with people do not know anything of other classes. WHM's Stoneskin and Protect are enhanced versus any other job, but not, they will not want to know nor understand it. Cast it away, you wasting your time as long I will cast mine, that obviously override yours.
Not to mention, when duty gets me as SCH in Tam-Tara low, and will put on my Cleric Stance, people still waiting I will cast Protect too. Guess why I don't cast it, dudes.
What makes it worse, is those things happening even with dudes in their 50 on multiple jobs. I guess they had FATE-ran all of them without bother how their jobs works.
Where is this even a horror story?
The first thing is beeing picky about smth that has no detrimental effect at all...
The second is beeing an elitist who thinks everyone must know all classes in the second dungeon the game has to offer...
The detrimental effect is me having bashed because I don't cast Protect on Tam-Tara, and the long wait at start with everyone silent, that I suppose they really are waiting for it, but no one bothers to say that.
Then, isn't that other people doing your job something like "you lazy, I have to do it" message? Even I tell them about that, I got silence as answer. not horror? Lets call it "creepy" then :)
The real horror is when you get tanks that holds aggro so well, that you agro the full map at your first heal.
Yeah these silent players can be creepy sometimes ^^
For that protect in TamTara you could just write you ain't got it xskilled to shorten the wait :P
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I haven't had any healing horror stories since coming back to the game. I played for a little bit after launch on a lv50 scholar. This time around I'm a 44 white mage. On my first character the game was new and I had a ton of stupid PUGs. This time around I've had nothing but competent groups in all the dungeons up to level 44. I actually had to yell at my last tank for being too good. All it took was regen except on the bosses. God I was bored.
Edit: I take it back. I just had my first one. I was doing Wanderer's Palace. The tank couldn't hold agro. He eventually declares that the next person who "pulls" gets to tank. The tank was "pulling" things by running past them. One time he did that with my regen still on him from the last fight. Of course that makes some of them agro me since he hasn't even touched them. I have to heal myself to stay alive and of course they all agro me then. The tank sits there and watches me die. Then party chat goes something like this.
Me: WTF?!
Tank: I told you people not to do anything while I pull.
Me: I didn't, retard. I was dying and had to heal myself because you let me get agro.
Tank: Whatever n00b. *ragequits*
DPS: Wow, that guy really sucked.
I ran Cutter's Cry with my black mage today, and we were doing fine until we came to the Myrmidon Princess. Adds come out and the ninja in our group starts attacking them, so we inevitably wipe. Tank gets all mad which makes us all mad, so we all fight for a little bit. Second attempt was better, but the healer was running too close to the inside, and so I had to sleep the mobs so the healer wouldn't die. The tank and healer start fighting because the healer said they knew how to kite the adds, but the tank was all like, "oh sure, that's why you almost died". Tank proceeds to pull a group of mobs and the healer decides to stop healing. So I sleep the mobs and start throwing out horrible heals on the tank.
