Can we get a pic during the day. Cause you know, a black chocobo during the night >_> can't see how good the feathers look.

Fed mine 7 mamook pear, which had the 'growing feathers' msg on the 7th, I am aiming for Apple Green. Another friend of mine is going for Lotus Pink, I will have him feed his Apple and Berries.
Stable condition: Good
Color aim: Apple Green
Feed 1: 7 pear
Color Aim: Lotus Pink
Feed 1: 3 apples
Okay, as per some advice I fed my chocobo mamook pears until I got the message that new feathers are growing. I waited and I got Peacock Blue now ^^
So it seems one darken green from Othard Blue that gives the new feathers message will give you Peacock Blue. I want to try to get Seafog Blue now...I'm wondering if it would take 1 more darken green or if you should lighten blue for it?

Thanks xD it worked!

Night atm, this feeding pic is the best I can do for now
And now comes bragging rights. Anyway, I hope you don't mind I quoted your posts in my thread over here.
For the people who've gotten Turquoise, or have a decent grasp of the system, any suggestions of how I should proceed from Celeste Green to Turquoise?
On the dye scale it seems like a mint green/light turquoise, so hopefully it wouldn't take much. I'm tempted to keep adding dark green and dark blue, hmmm.
Where do you buy the seeds initially?
I'm at Mesa Red (118, 51, 4) at the moment. What should I feed it next to aim for Soot Black? I need to lower the number on the red (118).
From Rolanberry Red to Regal Purple with 1 plum

>:( Really not happy at the moment.
For some god only knows reason my Chocobo's colors reset to the default yellow when I logged back on this morning
Last night the color was Millioncorn Yellow and I feed it 5 Valfruit and 5 plums then logged out for the night, now I am over 100,000 Gil poorer
and I have nothing to show for it!!
Regal Purple > Blood Red.

Following these words lead me right where I wanted to go, as well as that spreadsheet with the colors. I automatically assumed things were increased by +6/-6
So finalizing my process, I settled with Corpse Blue. These steps were taken in small batches versus large ones like some here have chosen.
2x Plum and 2x Berries got the new feathers message, which resulted in Lime Green. 1x berry got the feather message and resulted in Ul Brown, 3x Berries resulted in the feather message and Gobbiebag Brown, 1x Pear and 4x Berries resulted in Goobue Grey with two feather messages, 2x plum resulted in Corpse Blue.
Grand total is 10 Berries, 4 Plums and 1 Pear.
Keep in mind, this is not a complete 100% exact science yet, and will take a few Plumage changes to better guide you toward the color you want.
Here is the color chart for COEURL YELLOW:
182R 129G 3B
I would recommend the following for starters:
x10 O'ghomoro Berry
x3 Mamook Pear
What this should do is greatly reduce your Chocobo's RED color (which Coeurl Yellow is high in) while raising your BLUE color a bit (which it is very low in).
The green will also decrease by a small amount (theoretically).
If you report back the plumage color change after this feed, we can help you again to direct it more toward your desired color or Soot Black.
Going to try this value. Will report back in 6-9 hours. I'm GMT and it's 3AM.
Edit:

Alright so before I start wasting more fruit, would anyone be able to help me get my chocobo from coral pink to grape purple? If anyone is interested in how i attained coral pink, it was 2 sessions. 1st session= 5 Valfruit. 2nd session= 5 O'ghomoro berries and 5 Xelphotol apples.
And the result is:
http://i1002.photobucket.com/albums/...014_191539.png
Regal Purple!
I have now fed it:
1 pear to start timer
1 pear with message
2 berries with message
Here's hoping for midnight blue in another 6 hours.
GMT+1*
UK and Ireland on Daylight savings is GMT+1. Only reason I say this is for future reference as Server Time will follow your local time. However, live letters will continue to use GMT time zone reference. So right now if they say LL at 4pm GMT, it will be 5pm for you because of daylight savings putting you on GMT+1.
Anyway, back to this:
I want to try and put together a spreadsheet to do all the calculations, it would require simply putting in the values of your choco's current colours and the values of your desired colours. There are discrepancies I can't take into account such as:
But I am only working on the skeleton of it right now.
Let's see.
Coral Pink
200R 101G 87B
Grape Purple
52R 36G 54B
You're going to want the GREENs and BLUEs to stay roughly similar right off the bat (for the eventual drop in all colors), so you're going to want to decrease your REDs first and foremost.
Try this initially:
x10 O'ghomoro Berry
x10 Mamook Pear
What this should so is cause a HUGE drop of the RED's if your Chocobo's plumage, while stopping his GREENs and BLUEs from increasing or decreasing.
*Goobue grey became Lavender purple.
*Lavender purple became plum purple. Feeding pear to test color reversal theory. Results pending.
*Blood red to Dalamund red on one berry confirmation. This makes two incidents I have witnessed one berry message resulting in dalamund red. possibly a confirmed method to obtain Dalamund red. she is now trying for Rolanberry red with one more Berry confirmation. Results pending. (We're running low on berries. Surprise, lol)
*FC leader turned out gobbiebag brown. Adding pear and valfruit in an attempt to pull out the greens and darken the other hues. Results pending.
*Millicorn Yellow birds have not been fed.
This time I started with Corpse Blue and gave berries til I got one feather message which was 4 more berries and the result was Lavender Purple. After seeing how that looked with my Amon set I decided to stay here for now. I may eventually push for a darker blue again but pretty happy with this.
So, from charcoal gray I am trying to get soot black. Last night I fed my chocobo 1 Mamook Pear (got the message), 1 Xelphatol Apple (got the message), and 2 O'Ghomoro Berries (no message for either). I ran out of O'Ghomoro Berries. This morning, there was no change. So I fed him 2 O'Ghomoro Berries (got the message), 1 Mamook Pear (got the message), and 2 Xelphatol Apples (got the message). He turned Nophica Green... I then fed him 1 apple (got message) and one berry (got message). Now he turned Shadow Blue!
http://i1374.photobucket.com/albums/...ps94910257.png
I think I might just keep this color.
This confuses the crap out of me...lol
From Rolanberry to Abyssal was 10 berries and 4 pear, only the last 3 of each gave the feather message. So, I'll assume it's 3 berry and 3 pear that actually took
Finally out of the red loop, and think I'm closer to the Currant purple I want.

This color is kind of cool though :p
just fed 3 apple and 1 pear only the last apple gave message and the pear gave message. See what happens in 6 hours.
Ok, bear with me on this one, but I might have an idea. Lets lay the groundwork out on this one:
Shadow Blue
49R 49G 64B
Soot Black
37R 35G 30B
Now this is where a bit of speculation comes in: I believe that each fruit will increase or decrease a value by a range of +/-3 to +/-6. To try to round out the RNG, I am going to use an average of +/-5 for each fruit. Going on that assumption, here is what I recommend (and please don't hate me if this isn't 100%):
x2 Cieldalaes Pineapple
x4 Xelphatol Apple
x4 O'ghomoro Berry
x4 Mamook Pear
What the pineapple will do is attempt to lower your BLUE values below that of your GREEN and RED. After that, by feeding him an equal amount of Apples, Berries, and Pears, you will lower all three color values evenly, and hopefully drop them into the range of Soot Black.
As I stated above, I believe there is a slight RNG in how many points will be added or subtracted to each value when feeding any fruit, although theoretically this should place you around your desired plumage color.
You're right, I don't know the current values, which is why it gets harder to do minor changes in color variance when people are so close to their desired color.
I mainly go off the assumption that to reach certain colors you need to fall in a "color range" (I.e. 30-40R, 30-40G, 25-35B for Soot Black), and then (as you read above) I reduce what I believe are some RNG by offering a flat integer as an "average".
I try to preface every post saying that I am not 100% and this is only my assumptions based on correlating everyone's past data, as well as trials of my own.
