It just confuses me, if they are the ones from the trailer, then who was the midlander who went from WAR to DRG in Heavensward? Unless they are something we do not expect, it feels like a major retcon.

Derplander is the stand-in for the Player Character. The change to Dragoon does two things: 1.) Represents the shift to Heavensward (which also means the 4.0 trailer will have him changing to Monk.), and 2.) So if he ever appears for more then a few seconds in the trailers showing off the Edgeparty he looks sufficiently different from Edgelander so we know who is doing what. While the 3.4 trailer barely shows him he is seen atleast twice. Once very briefly when Thancred goes to meet Edgeladin's attack head-on, and then when he is shown being Holmgang'd by Edgelander. The first shot we see him as normal but he isn't the focus of the shot, the second time he is the focus of the shot but is greatly shadow'd. This might be because even with the job change SE realizes its just kinda wierd, but it also might be when our character is similarly chained up we will be cast in shadows as well.
IF Derplander actually exists in-game he won't be the Warrior of Light, but would most likely be used as evidence for the Warriors of Darkness being from and alternate Eorzea. Maybe with a little humor of us and allies thinking he is Edgelander and trying to fight him.
I never liked Urianger's 3.0 voice so I'm glad it got changed. We know Yugiri will change as well next time she shows up. Hopefully the whole cast won't change again in 4.0
As for his betrayal, there is definitely something we don't know about his dealings with Elidibus. He has always been the most enigmatic of the Scions, but he is not a bad guy.
Merlwyb and Raubahn getting recast were, I think, the biggest losses. Most other characters were good but not exceptional, but those two really just hit it home once 2.x let them improve; it helps that they were "new" voices to me (so to speak - I'd never heard either of their actors before) and as I said, hearing them improve over 2.x was quite enjoyable.
Stop stoking the flames! Back on track!
Err... I'm not expecting Urianger to betray us - he still has all that important EX Primal and Triad stuff to hand out and be involved with (until 4.0, at least), so we can rest easy. Still, with him meeting with Elidibus and that line, it has cast a shadow of a doubt.
Well... it just so happens that I've been playing lots of God Eater lately instead of my intended Yo-Kai Watch! weapon farming after a string of bad luck... and in 2 the scientist who puts together your squad and is benevolent-ish for 70% of the story eventually gets one of your teammates killed on purpose, simultaneously infecting your captain with a disease that eventually mutates him into an eldritch abomination after he quits the squad to help her develop robotic soldiers (isolating him from his compatriots who could help him).
It, uhh... it's that kind of story. But yeah, I'm kind of distrustful of others' motives right now because of that.
What is a "beast tribe"? Who's frame of reference is it that has been retold down the ages?
To make a point by example, our own history is littered with examples of European settlers referring to natives as savage and uncivilised races, human or no.
Similarly, it's quite a Garlean Thing to refer to the Ixal etc as "beastmen", implying that they are of lesser civility. This was a bit of a thematic in v1.0 that hasn't been re-explored as much as it could have.
And so I wonder, could the Allagans have referred to progenitors of the Miqo'te as beastmen? In fact, where did the Miqo'te even come from? I'm yet to see a single Allagan that fit's that description...
...except one.But they're a descendant of Allag, and have royal blood sufficient to operate the Crystal Tower, and not a Hyur.
Oh gosh, I'm heading down the rabbit hole again. Help!!!
Only got around to watch the English trailer now. Dialogue in the German one is pretty different again. Also our Masked Mystery Man seems to have the same VA as Ilbert in German
Those willing to fight on my side, raise your voice! The strength for victory is ours, I made sure of that!Quote:

Whats your poit about miqote progenitors?
About your other post, I would say NO. There is a clear differece between Derplander and Darklander, we have talked about this already a lot of times, they arent the same person.
Another thing I want to add is why are we talking about new voice acting. This is old history guys, we already the new voice on Urianger and on eveyone else.
Arent we going to far off topic with this comments that had nothing to do eith 3.4 at all?
