Um, actually Yoshi confirmed it's affecting low and high end PCs as well. It's not just PS3. It's the game priority system, and they're looking into it. Although it isn't happening for everyone.
Also, Turning off other player animations has 0 effect on it for FATES lvl 30+ with a decent number of people.

I'm a healer and high end fates show me almost NO enemies and NO players. ALL I SEE is pets and minions...it's agony.

They just need to make End-Game FATE's similar to WoW's World Bosses or make them roam the entire map destroying most people who run into it causing a coordinated party to have to form to actually take one down and take it off of the mini-map. Right now, it's just ridiculous how many people are in FATE's in general.

I haven't quite figured out the exact distance yet, but I found that standing far enough away from the mob causes it to appear more often. I have no tests to back this up, only what I've happened to observe. :D

ya I dunno how I am supposed to level up my class since I can't do fates? I've tried running dungeons. The XP isn't as good but at my particular level the dungeons are such a headache because all you ever get is inexperienced players in the duty finder.

Join FATE groups. Shout "looking for fate group" Most times someone will instantly send you a party invite.

Sorry, you're wrong, it's not a PS3 limitation, it happens to PC users as well. It's a function of several factors which are common to both platforms. even high end PCs can experience some degree of the issue due to server lag and network congestion. Drawing priority or graphics culling would help, both mid-low range PCs and PS3 (culling is less of an issue for higher performance hardware). Overcrowding is a larger issue, and what no one is talking about is the simple fact that in a FATE designed to take 10-15 minutes of tactical play with a group of 8-16 players is taking 2-3 minutes with 75-150 players.That many players in a single FATE cause problems on the server, network and client side, and that's not even considering the rendering load on the PS3 or PC running the client.

Both PC and PS3 engines will automatically limit the number of players on screen at once to maintain framerate. As you move through an area, the proximity of characters to you governs whether they are drawn or not. You can experience server side lag even just walking through a densly populated zone, so when you start a FATE in such a zone, lag is inevitable, and not related to the PS3. In a busy FATE with lots of adds coming in, as the player moves around, the client is changing which players, pets and minions are to be drawn which is why players will pop-in and pop-out as you move around. Graphics culling Could help this by changing the draw priority during FATE, but that will not address the server and network lag that affects all players regardless of the performance of their client.

Yeah, we do have tab targeting....While holding L2 or R2 (to activate the cross bar), pressing L1/R1 will cycle targets based on your targeting filter.

Began doing level 40+ FATEs last night. There's like no point to try doing them. It wasn't sometimes they wouldn't appear it was almost every time. Of 15 FATEs only one was I able to get more than 1.000 exp. :( PS3 player by the way. Pleeaaassse tell me it's been worked on right now. Pretty please. I'm very much considering taking a break from the game until it's sorted out. I'm not at all upset at SE. I'm just not seeing a point in playing if I can not do what I'd like to.

easy fix- play on a decent pc thats not older than 8years, cause guess what your PS3 just can´t handle that many characters on ONE screen. ITS IMPOSSIBLE due to the old hardware or maybe it is possible with only 1 polygon per character... i wonder sometimes, if ppl use what is called a brain

2nd even on a decent PC on fight like Behemoth Fate, too many characters can´t be rendered so its start to fade out ppl - again - its not that easy even on an high end pc to not have that problem... ps3 only gets it faster cause the hardware is from the last century..

Yeah probably it got to do something with the design, but yet maybe something can be done about it. This is why they shouldnt had made a PS3 version and should had gone straight to PS4, but whats done is done I guess. At least they are offering free transfer to PS4 and with free client download for those who bought PS3.

omg yesss this is sooo annoying. people can hate on the ps3 players all they want and say we suck in dungeons ( myth ) , but what is a B on the ps3 is the good fates.. you can find crummy ones here and there that load perfect.. but boss fates that have achievements and large xp pool.. oh god the horror.

I showed up to kill Odin the other day in the east shroud on sargatanas , I saw odins big viel of blue smoke n stuff, about 10 players and SOOOOOO MANY egi pet things ughhh.. please allow me to remove them from popping up on my screen if they are not in party or something, ruining our gameplay badly for sure when it comes to fates :\

You obviously aren't thinking too much into it either as you negated your first response with your second. Even high-end PCs are having issues? Hmmm... Anyways, I think the problem is load priority. Defiance doesn't have this problem and in congested areas like Arkfalls it loads enemy NPCs before it loads players.

I keep seeing this pop up.. how are people playing for "free" still? What I mean by this is.. don't you have to BUY the game to play be playing it now, and if you bought the game why would you quit after 1 month if a month of play time is less than cost of the game itself.. I could see many dropping off after 3-4 months, but not immediatly when charges start.. unless they handed out a ton of buddy passes again with the pc CE. Or I'm uninformed and there are a bunch of people who got this game for free.. and if so i'm a hater, cuz I sure paid lol

On PS3, this isn't just happening in FATEs either. I had about 8 instances where normal monsters in the world didn't appear, but my HP started going down and the game said I was being attacked. On some of them, logging out didn't help either. I've never encountered this on my PC though. At this point, I think I'll just stick to using PS3 for crafting and such, and go back over to PC for any sort of battles.

I am on PS3 and have the same problem. I have all other pc effects turn off already but it doesn't help much. Most of the time when I run in to attack, my GCD starts ticking and is long done before I even use my attack. I have difficulty using combo skills because of this as well, because until the attack executes on my screen the game will not recognize that it has landed and let the next skill in the chain get its combo bonus.

I had to FATE spam a full level to get access to Garuda fight and it was a slow and painful process when the FATEs are over so fast and you can't even contribute what you should do to this issue.

I've been having this problem more in the past few days. I got to the gawd-awful horror zone of level 35-40, where it is dragging on SO MUCH, that after I finish the miniscule story quests and the handful of quests nearby, I'm forced to FATE grind. This wouldn't be an issue if not for me getting there, and a swarm of people who look way over my level cap getting in there and causing ENORMOUS lag that makes enemies disappear, or my actions freeze up briefly to where the enemy I was just about to attack is already dead. I love this game, but this is a really frustrating issue at a really slow part of the game TT___TT'

As a PS3 owner the best advice I can really give is turn off all pc names and effects. I was able to do odin and manage to get silver but even then he would phase in and out on occasion. Would have gotten gold if I saw him the entire fight. But It really does suck. Ps4 version free though if you own ps3 :)

Just want to add to this without making another thread.

Personally, I only have problems with FATEs in Costa del Sol and Quarrymill (on PS3), where the farmers frequent. However, I have an increasingly severe issue with NPCs not loading in towns. It takes 15-20 seconds for NPCs to render in populated areas. The delay means that I can actually get well into crafting an item before I've even got my tools out. Equally, I can make 1-2 attempts at gathering before the sound effects start playing, and I can sometimes get from Quarrymill to the northern exit of the map before my mount has loaded.

It doesn't really impair my enjoyment of the game, so I'm not complaining too loudly. However, this is precisely the problem that made 1.0 unplayable for me and it seems to be getting worse.

Ps4. Easy answer. The ps3 can't cope with the game as the ps3 is out of date technology

That's not necessarily true. If you go back and read some of the other posts, this is happening with PC users as well. It's not the computers and PS3s, it's the game glitching.

It's impressive enough to see an MMO on a console. But obviously these limitations can't be helped. I play it on PS3, I do hate that everything but SVERA pops up on my screen on FATES. I can't bring myself to turn off any effects. I'm sure it helps but it makes me feel like I'm stripping away something that is nice to see in a part of the game. I hope patches such as 2.1 can optimize the game more on PS3
