i made it to level 50 without really missing them

Hey Alexander,
So you can really use materia whenever you want. However i would not go out of my way for it until endgame. Convert your old armor if you don't need and attach the materia earned to your new stuff. Any bonus will help! Save your tier 3 Materia for rank 50 and Ilvl 50+ gear :D hope this helps.
Is it necessary to level up my mrd all the up 50? Also what level should I level PUG to for second wind and internal release am i going to have to level him to 50 as well?(for DRG)
Well, as a Lancer you probably just want level 12 to acquire Internal Release, Second Wind and Featherfoot.
I'd... Have as a long term goal to get to 42 for Mantra, but that is a very long term goal that is really tertiary
I was wondering.. Do the traits that improve secondary class skills still give the improvements to us when we are in dragoon mode?
Lancer traits work for a Dragoon.
As a general sidenote, don't know if it's been mentioned or not, but it's pretty trivial to land Heavy Thrust while soloing (without Sweep). You just need to jackknife through the mob and use it at 135 degrees or so.
This was mentioned back earlier in the thread but had a minimal response. I was wondering what everyone put their attribute points into? I've put all 30 of mine into STR but I'm curious weather or not that was the right thing to do.
Nope.
Lancer traits only.
I have a question about diminishing returns. Since i am getting conflicting information about this, is it true or false that using stuns like leg sweep will give the tank diminishing returns on his stuns as well?
From my experiences, yes. If I were to stun a plume or eruption in Ifrit HM, theres a good chance that the tank's stun will be resisted if he needed to stun right after. Same goes for slows. If a monk were to use Haymaker and then I (Dragoon) used Feint Attack after, my slow cuts to 5 seconds versus the normal 20.
This is definitely 100% true. It works for all stuns from all people directly attacking the mob. That's why in fights where it's mandatory to stun an ability, we should avoid leg sweep and SSD unless specifically called for. For normal mobs, I'll throw in those abilities for extra DPS but it's not something you do on tougher bosses usually unless their attacks are completely avoidable.
can anyone help me, im trying to get giantsgall trident but i cant find it anywhere, its like it didnt even exist, does anyone know where it can be obtained ?
great, what about answering my question ? xivdb doesnt tell me where this item is found, tried it already
I could be wrong, but I don't believe they can be obtained currently right now. In 1.xx, they were available by accomplishing a round of Skirmish. In 2.0 however, I have not come across any content that drops these. So I believe they will probably reappear to obtain again in a later patch, like the Moogle weapons which are currently unobtainable till 2.1 when the Moogle primal battle returns.
i need some advice. I currently have 2 amdapor armor, and the rest the AF armor, and i have the GC serpent weapon for lvl 50. Now, I'm trying to do the relic reborn quest, so my question is. should i invest in darklight armors/acc? cause i feel like i wont be able to finish the HM ifrit, garuda or titan if i dont have some darklight equips, or people might not take me in, in my current equipment. im asking cause i kind of want to save my tomestones for the 900 pts needed for the relic quest, but if i'm more likely not to finish the Hard Modes then i'll just invest in darklight.
So hey all. I have just recently gotten to satasha with my dragoon. My question is do the wait time get better at endgame and are dragoons wanted. My first plan was to become a warrior but after hearing how bad they are at endgame i decided to roll dragoon. Is it worth it to level a dragoon or should i just continue with my warrior?
Dragoon is solid DPS and has toys for many situations, that being said while we arent undesirable, we arent desirable either.
So far i rarely lose in dungeons (level 50) so DPS isnt bad. We dont bring anything that the group -needs- though. If you want to be wanted, be a tank or healer, even a warrior is more wanted than probably any DPS. As far as wanted DPS any mage on ifrit, other than that while some are preferable to others, none are must haves.
hmm I see thanks. Im always so indecisive.
hi guys i just wonder what is the hit cap for the primae HM like Garuda/titan ?
and is it proven now that dots get stronger with Dmg buffs ?
for the second one, yes the periodic DoT damage is increased by the damage buffs/debuffs applied when the DoT is first hit (so if the damage modifiers disappear before the DoT ends, the rest of the ticks still get the bonus) however because DoT ticks aren't considered piercing damage, they don't get the -10% piercing resist bonus from Disembowel
DoT=damage over time
AoE=area of effect
Potency=power
Can you help me set up a Macro for the 1-2-3 combo. I've tried making one but it always skipped Vorpal Thrust and went straight to Full Thrust.
I'm lvl 42. Why don't I have dragoon abilities besides jump?
I thought dark eleven was best race for dragoon according to the ffxiv wiki. Now I'm hearing hylander. Can I change race?
Thanks omega. Does lancer and drg level differently? I don't have elusive jump or spine shatter
DRG will always be the same level as your LNC. Any jobs that release for LNC in the future will also be the same level as your LNC. The way you progress in a job is to do a specific quest (from the same NPC in Coerthas) every 5 levels to unlock a new job specific action (along with DRG artifact gear). So at Lv 50 you will have 5 DRG actions total.
