de-nile is not just a river in Egypt. It is the first sign of an addiction. (i know how the word is just used the joke referance)

I say no to 24hr+. Difficulty should be killing the mob, not CLAIM IT
So just because bot use is inevitable we should encourage game aspects that would use them? At that point whats the point? It just boils down to who has the better bot?
Sure....make that same item virtually useless as well. So you're not required to do that to be considered for groups. All you're doing is creating elitism imposing such artificial barriers. Why not make it triggerable with a guild leve reset/week repop timer, make it hard, make it resistant to emulate, and make the drop rate something better.Quote:
Make it 24hr with a 1 hr window, make it hard, and make it resistant to emulate. simple. Oh and make the drop rate under 5%.
dude was asking for it. I got time to play mmo. and I still don;t wanna sit and waste time waiting and fight claiming nm. time don;t make it difficault the actuall fight does. And honestly its a game. Name 1 actually hard game. Games are fun, challenging (not hard), and meant for enjoyment not work. 24 hr pop nms = work. and work isn't fun.
jobs can be fub since you rarely see it as work.
I veiw mmos as a hobby, I dedicate my time to becoming better, higher lvl, better gear. You have no place in playing this type of game if you cannot commit the time to it, and then cry about not having the good gear and items. No one is forcing you to play this game, and if you honestly have such a wonderful rl with a family and an amazing job then I dont really understand why you would play an MMO in the first place.
I will say this again... It is kinda sad to see how uncommitted you guys are.... now I understand why the JP players laugh at the NA's
WTF IS SO GOD DAMN LEET ABOUT THE ABILITY TO CAMP SOMETHING FOR MORE TIME THAN SOMEONE ELSE?
What would really be the big difference making something have a world 24 hour pop or having a triggered pop you can only do once a week? You don't have to sit there waiting for hours on end, firing up a bot program just to actually fight the damn thing. You can keep the mob/item rare since you can only do it once a week, but more importantly you actually have a chance to even do it.
and all that "leet" gear means nothing after you log out for the day... really dude you need gamer AA also.... making ffxiv too much like ffxi will only hurt the game. too much content that is limited to players is NOT a good game. I got sick doing hnm runs. I don't want to be put through that for a "must have" item. It was stupid.
If the hard - corers want something hard and rare then I propose a series of fights that take a long time to complete which a nice reward at the end. Something similar to gaining Captain in 11. I say make these fights all very hard, almost incompletable. In this way you will show your skill and get a reward in the end that you can be proud of. If it is done with a party then all the better. Then you must prove your worth and your groups worth at the same time by cooperation and timing and good skills. Claiming a mob, in my opinion, only shows you can claim it, not the ability of your character. Hard fights will earn respect when you win. Yes, I think hard fights over claiming Nm's is more worthy.
they laugh @ no lifers too. aka NEETS. You don;t know me nor do you know how much time i have to play. You have an addiction dude. I fear for you.
And this is someone who play ffxi or any other game for 12-16 hours aday 7 days a week. Just because I do have time to play, don;t mean i want to do stuff like that. I don;t need the best gear to be good. No ine does. Its all in your head if you do.
Ability to camp + Kill it on the fly being unprepared for pop (without buffs on and everyone lined up in the right positions). Having it pop on top of your only tank and killing him, making you have to wing it and fight some hard shit with half your group.... These are the things that happen.
Someone like yourself will be killing Uraeus for the next 6 months trying to figure out why your mages keep dying to body slam.
lol calm down, I can see I am getting under your skin... you can barely form a sentence without a grammatical error ^^ All I am saying is that if you cannot commit the time, then don't cry about having horrible gear. Obviously someone with capped out levels and amazing gear is better than someone with nothing... duh! I am not against casual players, I just don't think they should cry so much. And honestly, you don't know anything about my RL either so don't keep talking this gamer AA #*!&.
Of course you're assuming you get the pop and not the other 3 LS' standing around all day. Lol so now i'm a baddie because I don't feel we need artificial barriers to prevent someone a chance to even do the encounter huh? Shit, if all I needed was to be jobless, playing a game where I spend the majority of my time standing still waiting for something to pop to give me "skill" I should have done it long ago.
right, it was a example about a gaming skill, something you do no not understand.
Botting 24h pops is not exactly a skill or dedication. What is that remark you posted 2 times earlier? JP player laugh about bla... are you serious? are you that much of a pity fanboy? you care that much what others think?
I have a lot of jp friends ( i live in asia) and i do know some jp player who did spend more than 2-4 RL years (gaming time) in FFXI. Those are not the norm and certainly nothing to be proud off, they are sad veggies.
Having time to play a MMO is cool, there are weekends where i sit my 8-10 hours a day on FF but not every day and certainly not every night. Dude get real. 24h pops?
I myself remember times when i did set alarm at night just to water my plants in my moghouse. never again.
Damn, what is it with the lil westerner and US fanboys? Crazy kids call themselves otaku and think they are all cool or something. There is nothing cool about it.
Moth and scareface go look up gamer addict and find some online self help. You to are acting like NEETs or no life gamers. Sorry but claiming an nm is easy. Its killing it is what really matters. I out claimed most japanes or rmt. Infact. I was home sick one day with a temp of 100+ i took time to see about getting me a pair of okote befire the maint that day. The nm pops I out pulled 2 others and got the item. Then i come to find out it wasn't even worth it. I saw no difference in my dmg as mnk nin or sam. I ended uo getting sicker that day also. I had a bronci (somthing) infection that i get once a year or every other year since the christmas of 1998. not being able to breath sucked. And getting sicker wasn't great either.
oh 24 hour pops huh? why not make it pop invisible, run around with double speed, make it only aggro magic and stuff it in a small zone filled with other mobs aggroing magic....hmmm that sounds kinda familiar. (god i really really hate that XI nm)
but on a serious note, i have more than enough time on my hands to play this game but waiting for a 24 hour pop is not how i want to spend that time, it has nothing to do with adventure, its simply "WAITING IN LINE:THE GAME" and thats not fun.
im not against special nms hell i always though that "the unbeatable AV" had a certain charm as a monster in vanadiel, but when it just evolves into "the guy with the bigger pile of poopsocks next to his desk wins" its rediculous.
Soooo, waiting for hours for a mob to pop doesmake you better? Stronger? higher level? better geared? Everyone should have their place in a game, who are you to tell the others where/where not their place is? Come back to earth, people play games to have fun, they play MMOs to have fun with their friends. And when I say play, I mean play, not sit in front of the screen waiting for hours for something to happen.
Time sink is no challenge, it is time sink. No 24hours pop, all right with force pop and epic battles.
Oh yeah, the difficulty to stay awake until 3 in the morning to be there when it pops and have to go to work at 9am (without having had the claim of course)? The difficulty to wait for hours without just dying of boredomeness? I'm very curious about what 'difficulties' you are talking about.
Where's Tanaka the Doblyn?
i got ADD... so ya grammar error gonna happen. I'm calm though.
Sorry but nothing you said is remotely true. I tried a good portion of said "leet" gear. Honestly there was heardly a difference with or with out it.
Everyone should have equal chances to do content in mmo. ffxi wasn't popular.. which it is why it never did well and slowly bled subs out. SE said ffxiv was gonna be less time consuming to make it so anyone can do anything. :) The challenge is in the fight.
I'm referencing other comments by saying, just make them stronger. 24hr pops will perpetuate botting and I have no idea why anyone would make this suggestion. It's probably the #1 complaint in end game with FFXI. If it's uniqueness you're after, be a unique person with great player skill. Gear doesn't separate the men from the boys, not entirely.
I myself have alot of spare time to play the game. I enjoy playing and it could certainly be seen as an addiction. Although I consider camping NM's for 24 hours a waste of my time, there are other players that enjoy it. I think fights that showcase your characters strength as important. Obviously there are at least 2 players that think long time camping NM's is enjoyable. Maybe SE could put a few of these NM's in game to appease the players that enjoy long time camping.
Seems people have forgotten about this:
I'm okay with 20+ hour respawns as long as the rewards are based on contribution rather than whoever has the fastest claimbot.Quote:
9. If the current target claiming system were done away with, would you be in favor of a system that rewards skill, experience, and loot only to the party that first deals damage to an enemy? Or would you be in favor of skill, experience, and loot being distributed amongst all parties that contributed to an enemy's defeat?
Skill, experience, and loot going to only the first party to deal damage to an enemy: 47.5%
Skill, experience, and loot going to all parties taking part in an enemy's defeat: 52.5%
The point of a 24 hour NM if you can't camp it every time. Do you not understand that? You have to be commited to the game to get what you want. You can't just go get it anytime you want.
Did you even play XI?? Like seriously? If you attention span can't last 3 hours then why are you playing an MMO? You probably wouldn't have even been able to get an exp PT if you're the ADHD.
The claiming system of NMs in XI made claim bots completely ineffective. It was all luck and commitment to show and have a shot.
DO YOU READ?????????? Let's say a mob (a monster for people like you) pops in 3 different zones. So you're all spread out, it pops in 1 of the zones and kills half your party, the rest of you get there, but half to pull some shit out to even survive. The rest of the people come and watch you fight lagging you to death because they want you to die, your weakened comrades come back and start fighting....This is the shit you will not experience with forced pop NMs, or instances..
THAT IS A LAYER OF DIFFICULTY CAN YOU NOT SEE THAT? Or all you see is "ZOMG 24hr NM NOOO"
Because JP players from the previous poll blatantly have shown that they dedicate their time more if not LESS due to their timely schedule and wish to solo on their own time as a way to relieve their stress from work.
So meta gaming on where the rare monster is going to spawn is the difficult part of the FIGHT? Come on buddy.
Uh.
