My PSN account was refunded 39.99.
On PSN the 39.99 version says unavailable.
PSN ffxiv CE edition says available for 59.99.
I did not receive any psn xbar message letting me know of the refund.
I did not receive an e-mail telling me of the refund.
On my services list it shows my early access started 8/14 and ended 8/23.
Please someone let us know what is going on.

Yes on that you are right it does says I can't purchase/download it because I already own it. Altho I just checked my download list and the game is still listed, but the Theme I got from the CE is actually gone. Could this be the Beta client and not the purchase ?.... Im confused... what are we supposed to do...?
Honestly, I wouldn't go purchase the other editions that you don't have. You don't want to risk being billed for two editions. I'm sure we'll hear something soon since we all have our refunds. Since we already have the client, we probably won't need to download the whole thing again.
Ok guys, this is my thought. If you go to your service list and check the early access it says it expires on the 23rd, which it never said that before. Once it expires maybe we can try again, which means we would have to wait till tomorrow.

I just got off the phone with PSN customer service. I was told SE will be refunding all affected accounts IN FULL. Plus, we will be getting a voucher to redownload the game FOR FREE with "extra entitlements."
Drawback is the XMB message will be arriving early next week.
Submitting for a refund takes 5-7 days and no codes can be used until it goes through.
We cannot preorder from another merchant and use the new code. It will NOT work.
The only thing we can do is wait until SE resolves this. Affected accounts will not be getting EA until we get the XMB message arrives.
I just checked my PS3, still same no service account error I have had all day. my service account does have an expires on 8/23 now as some have mentioned
PSN still has CE and Std ed for sale, and nothing has been refunded to my account as some of you have said had happened.
Its clear SE and Sony are working on this and are getting somewhere now atleast as we see things changing. Give it a few hours and it will be figured out. Just go to bed 30min earlier and get up a bit earlier to get the download before offical start of EA.
Mine patched fine but a few of my friends are getting the service message! Does anyone know if its been resolved?
Update: I now have the price of the CE in my wallet on PSN store. now this is when I wish we would have some legit response coming in from the dev team... this is the first time I have actually felt that they are doing a bad job keeping us informed since beta tests started....
I want to play at 5am tomorrow, and now i'm more concerned of needing to download a full client and everything in the am and not just a patch...

I just saw the refund in my PSN wallet, and the expiration date for XIV listed in services. *Sigh*
This makes me really sad. Waiting for early access and subsequent launch for a long time now. I've never had a game that made me so happy. Not being able to play it on time with the rest of the world is just... oh nevermind.

When I spoke to Sony that is what they told me we were going to get a code in our Mail on PS3 early next week.
Early next week is a bunch of CRAP!! game starts in 6.5hrs and we want to play then, we paid for it and should have it. Can we purchase the SE to get our accounts working? and maybe just a free digital CE upgrade? there has to be some sort of other option than waiting till next week...
Has anyone actually talked with SE?
From what I understand, we have been refunded the money we paid for the CE, also if you look at your "service list" under your transaction management and look at your FF14 game is says that it will expire as of the 23....so midnight from I understand. So at midnight(hopefully) we will be able to rebuy the game and still be able to get into early access. This is just what I've been told by some people in the community, I mean it's something right? I don't know if any of this info is 100%. Lets hope we'll be able to rebuy the game before early access.
OK, sony support confirms that we can do one of two things:
1. wait till early next week and get the game for free (compensation for the error and not getting early access), or maybe just can re-purchase once the code essentially removes that you had already purchased, was not fully clear... (think get game for free, but have funds in account to use on something else)
2. purchase the other version of the game (and get early access)
I am buying the standard edition now, and will spend 20 on the 27th for digital upgrade to CE, or posibly just skip the SE now. Only issue is the extra $20 on the PSstore needs to be used in the store. likewise, anyone who gets the game free now, needs to se that money in the store
I'm bashing my head against the wall...
two questions if anyone might know.
1. Can we purchase the PSN CE version for 59.99 and add it to our account that was refunded
and still be in the early access period?
2.Can we purchase a pc digital download version on se site and play our ps3 account on a pc
and still make the early access?
I'm scared the answers are no because our accounts might be in limbo because of this whole mess,
instead of buying another new code/game and making early access.
UPDATE: I purchased the standard edition from PSN, went into my already downloaded client and everything linked up with my Open Beta service account like it should and is now patching the 757mb patch from today.
So it seems as my above post says, get free game next week, or buy SE (or upgrade to CE if you had SE) from PSN and you will be good for tomorrow. If you realy want CE, hopefully SE will put a digital CE upgrade on PSN, if not can upgrade via mogstation when it is released tuesday..
What is absolutely ridiculous is that not one single response from a community rep!
No messages from Sony to PSN messages or our e-mails.
if you had only purchased the standard edition you can do 1, otherwise you need to wait till next week with code in PSN mailbox to repurchase CE.
for 2, I think you could buy the SE PC and play early access on PC, then next week get your free PS3 CE to add to the account and get CE items (but I am not 100% sure on this as i have no PC [Mac user])
I agree.. cant believe it.. I feel like they must be in the works of trying to find some other option between now and start of Early access that will give everyone their account, and dont want to announce the "good/bad" news until they figure out if there is a way to actually do it correct
I guess beyond getting PSN to send out emails based on there records of who is getting screwed it will be hard for them to know who is actually in this problem and who is just trying to get a free copy or free EA to further test before purchasing
PSN chat help told me you can not repurchase the CE untill you get the PSN code early next week. So I just went ahead and got the SE as I felt EA was more important to me then a free game.
What I should have done, and would suggest others do is wait till closer to EA start time and see if SE comes up with another alternative, and if not just buy the other version if you want EA tomorrow.
Never seen a more jacked up launch...
Oh well, in a few days this will clear up...hope there is more compensation in the form of in-game items.
to be honest it was a bit strange I never got a PSN receipt email for my CE purchase on the 13th (i got one tonight for SE). I hope that those of us who actually purchase the game for EA can some how get SE to give us something in game (seeing how we did buy the game when we could have just waited and got it free), such as a CE upgrade for free or a months free access, or maybe even upgrade us to legacy status (for cheaper subs for life)?
Ummm but why theres no word from SE/SONY on this matter I mean public announcements... they can't refund us the money without telling us anything.... and not expecting us to try something that we might or not supposed to do....
I know they have, but where's the message that you got it refunded, at least I didn't get one, if it wasn't for this forum I wouldn't have noticed it. Besides the fact that we got refunded there is not explanation on why is this and what should do, wait ? buy the SE? etc.
Yeah but there hasn't been any official word from either Sony and SE. People have only managed to get answers from Sony customer support when they called. SE is just silent on the whole issue. It would be nice to at least get some official update so we can see what options we have.
Shit happens, I get it. Truthfully, I'm not mad there are issues...what's annoying is the fact that there has been zero response to this issue from SE or Sony.
Edit: I'm curious to see how things go on PSN once the 24th rollover (when everything expires) but I will be at work and unable to check myself so if someone would be kind enough to post an update that would be cool.
