I think it was a bad translation. In ffxiv, Musketeer = user of muskets.

My bad/error for not adding Musketeer to the poll.
So far Dark Knight is the leading popularity which I think would be a great high DPS DD for 2.0. I'd like to see Dark Knight wielding an extremely oversize 2 hand sword and the ability to transfer hate to anyone in the party or tank.
Red Mage certainly a challenging job for Yoshi to implement properly within the ARR 2.0 system.
Thief is definitely going to be a very fun fast pace job that can dual wield (Hopefully) and it would be nice if thief gets "haste" abilities so their dagger/s are great dot (dmg over time). Bring back steal, SATA, flee and hide!
As for musketeer, it seems it would be a close 2nd or 3rd if musketeer was added to the poll. So yes, my mistake on that.
Ninja - I think Ninja shouldn't be added too soon to 2.0 because it might be a bad idea since it might compromise Paladin's job as main tank and such. I'd like to have Ninja to be added later down the road map so that PLD won't be forgetton.
Unless Yoshi can somehow get it right so that both PLD and Ninja has their own purpose and usefulness without be neglected.
Ninja! +10/char
I'd like to see blue mage. Even with arcanist and smn there is still an imbalance of physical and magic classes.
And learning blu spells in XI was really fun for me.
Blue Mage came out in the Treasures of Aht Urhgan. 3rd expo which would be fine in a 3rd expo in ARR its a traditional class a unique class that should be treated as such. SORRY i know its your op i dont want to offend id be dissappointed if Blue mage came out at launch it should be and ADV ADV job imo just like the OP DNC
A musketeer (French: mousquetaire) was an early modern type of infantry soldier equipped with a musket. Musketeers were an important part of early modern armies, particularly in Europe. They sometimes could fight on horseback, like a dragoon or a cavalryman. The musketeer was a precursor to the rifleman.
Musketeers fought in battle both on foot (infantry) and on horseback (dragoons).
The Three Musketeers, in the magazine Le Siècle between March and July 1844. The author, Alexandre Dumas, père, based his work on the book Mémoires de Monsieur d'Artagnan, capitaine lieutenant de la première compagnie des Mousquetaires du Roi (Memoirs of Mister d'Artagnan, Lieutenant Captain of the first company of the King's Musketeers) by Gatien de Courtilz de Sandras (Cologne, 1700).
"The Three Musketeers" is what made fencing Musketeers a popular notion when they actually used muskets as their main arm.

Arcanist, all of my battle classes are 50. Besides, I want mah Carby
DRK! Pleeeeeeeeeease
CEO of a Grand Company.
I went Thief.
I first enjoyed Thief in XI, and I think I got it to around 45 ish before the party invites became so non-existent that it sort of faded away for me. It wasn't until Abyssea that I was able to get it to whatever the cap was when I played before (I think 80?)
Even if it was strenuous at times, I loved the social aspect of having to coordinate with your tank and first voke for the SA/TA. Sure plenty of people never got the idea and it got easier whenever you learned assassin, but it was just good fun landing the huge damage hits, being a very able puller, debuffing with bolts and knowing that you were leveling a job that had some fantastic self-sustainability down the road that was always going to be a great asset to provide Treasure Hunter.
Samurai would be my second pick, because almost everything I just said applies (minus very good sustainability). SAM was still a fantastic "party role" that forced you to socialize and have some fantastic fun coordinating WS's to result in fantastic results when people actually listened.
I don't feel like there is anything quite like that currently in XIV. I feel that party mechanics are rather dull and uneventful. Then again, I can only think of 2 party spots ever, and that makes me sad, because that's pathetic and everyone who enjoyed XI knows it. Part of the charm was always having to go to some new location to level up, some dangerous destination in some distant part of the game to gain the next few levels. Not "Go here to gain 1/5th of your entire levels".
I really hope we get great job variety and there are lots of interesting places to party up at in ARR.
RDM..want that AF again :3
I doesn't reall matter what job you want to be. You have to have them all or you're not elite *Sarcasm*
Red Mage :D
DRK is on par with SAM in that poll ...and i wanna play DRK!
If they implement Red Mage into XIV, they better make sure they do it right.
Red Mage is meant to fight in the front lines using melee attacks along with Enchantment spells and a combination of White/Black Magic.
The way the job was forced to play in XI was completely wrong.
Didn't see ranger. Was my first love with guns
And there lies the confusion with people who dont look up things. Musket is a type of gun (fact)
http://www.juniorgeneral.org/donated/pedro/muskets.png
Musketeer for FF lore is a Job type concentrating on the use of a musket as their weapon.
Movies... sure you have the 3 musketeers but that was the name of their group. The swords they used were rapiers. In FF lore that would be classified under the Fencer class(aka Red Mage)

Don't let a movie/books of the group "The Three Musketeers"(who were all fencers) confuse you all with a guild in FFXIV call the Musketeers Guild, that specializes in using muskets. Its two very different things.
^^^ Bringing back some FXI enemies I see.. good stuff. :)
I know what you meant. FFXI being my first mmo when I played it back in 2004 and it took me about roughly 7 months to get to 75.
Jobs like thief and Sam subbing /thief required coordination with tank in order to have a consistent hate control for the tank.
Weapon skill chain played a great part of doing extra damage and bonuses.
These mmade it more involving with the party and adds that extra joy of successfully pulling it off.
But anyway hopefully ARR includes new job/battle adjustment whether new or old concept will make it more fun. Cant wait to find out.
where the hell is puppetmaster?
A FFXI pet job.
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__...etmaster03.jpg
Puppetmasters are a playable advanced job in Final Fantasy XI since the addition of Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion. Entertainers from the Near East in Vana'diel, they use their puppets to entertain audiences, but they are also effective in combat. Puppetmasters are adept with hand-to-hand combat, but their specialty is activating an automaton to assist them in combat. Unlike other summons, the puppet can be equipped with different heads or chassis, as well as customized using over a dozen attachments.
Puppetmasters are accompanied by an Automaton, which, according to the story of Final Fantasy XI, is a recent invention of a prominent engineer of the Eastern Empire, a Galka named Ghatsad. Traditionally, the entertainers of the past had used marionettes to entertain crowds. These new creations are built and maintained by their puppetmaster owners and function without the use of any strings or other attachment. Instead, a puppetmaster uses a remote device known as an animator which can be use to control the pet.

Need I say more?
I swear I am always the only person to pick Chemist on these job poles. There's nothing wrong with that job! IT WAS FUN.
( ; A; )
Chemist is on the top of my wishlist. It was for XI and it still is for XIV.
I really think a job with mix and the potential to throw weird concoctions has a chance of being fun and effective.
As well as a huge array of potential effects. Phoenix down + Remedy = Reraise potion. Of course all temp items Procedurally restocking themselves.
I made a huge write up on it back in XI's days, but they never brought it in :( I did like the subtle nod to the job with the BRD AF3 though.
I like the "Mix" concept for Chemists as well.
Reminds me a lot of Rikku from FFX (Thief / Chemist / Machinist).
Currently, there is no class that can "Throw" medicine at other players. I think this would be a decent idea to expand upon in the (probably) far future.
