Rank 40+ at Camp Horizon should never happen...
Wild Chocobos spawn at the end and rip you apart.
The reason no one teaches anyone anything is because as soon as someone says something that hurts someones feelings, because they want to play how they want. Its automatically called being an elitist which is not the case at all.
Consider this and you can check my sig I have all my jobs over 20 and one almost 50 so I know the combat side of this game very well and I dare anyone to challenge my position.
Rank 1-10 you get 500~sp/kill from a single mob in behest at the rank 1 and 10 behests.
Heck at the rank 10 ish camp solo I was getting about 350sp/kill at drybone. So for those in the rank 11-17 range this is a good place for them to be at and if those people stayed around that area they will get more out of it. Albeit with the current state of the game it won't be 15 people there but I have more often than not ran with 6-8 people avg around 350~sp a kill with about 20-25 mobs there and you actually have fun because you are doing something not uselessly whacking and whiffing at a way to high rank mob.
Now that will alleviate the stress for those 18-26~ rank at horizon allowing to have more people to take advantage of the 10k+ sp that could be had if your within range of the other players in that area.
Also this allows for all players to get the maximum benefit from the event and allows everyone to progress effectively. So having some at rank 11 at a rank 20 behest and not actually wanting them there because it is detrimental to both parties is actually not elitist, its common sense.
I'm very sorry but to those who think that are very wrong and I implore you to smarten up a little.
So for those who think some sort of restiction or better gating to get players to see the light and use the system to their betterment I applaud you very much.
Edited for spelling
A very low minimum rank could be ok for behest, but no upper limit, please.
But, I still prefer no limitations at all. Low ranked characters are already penalized for joining high ranked people (in party or behest), so, low ranked people that still join the behest have other motivations to do so. Let's not remove that joy for these persons.
Freedom of choice and actions, not restrictions to force people to conform.
Well, I feel a very strong desire for rank caps in guildleves, Behests and storyline missions for quite some time, but stayed silent until now because I am not looking forward to being flamed to hell ... but now I should stop being a coward :-)
changes to Behest are absolutely necessary. Rank caps or attendance limitations may be easier to realize than appropriate automatic difficulty adjustments (which would mean that mobs should increase in rank, not in numbers. with exp/sp being unchanged).
So here comes a passionate [X] yes from my side for the introduction of rank caps!
There is more than enough nodes and camps to spread out the levels! This will allow nodes to have more visits often than just for leves.
Could we get a camp rank range listing somewhere.
I'm up for some rank restrictions too, and also agree with the last mob spawn, we need something bigger, stronger, something with more strategy envolved that just more of the same zerg fest.
I also have a suggestion for when you talk with the battle warden accepting your behest entry you should automatically be part of a behest party, i had runs with 2 pt's going on cause people just would not accept the invites.
Hello everyone,
Hvinire here, working late to get you guys the latest from the development team (I know I know "wah wah, get to the post"). Komoto-san himself had a comment on the very subject of Behest Rank Restrictions, without further ado:
Quote:
Greetings fellow adventurers!
The development team is aware of the current situation where players, whose ranks are too low to participate, are present within Behest and the team feels that there is nothing negative about placing a rank restriction. As a result, they are considering such an action but at the same time they are thinking within what level range the restriction should be applied. Changing the class during Behest can also be used to switch to a low-ranking class but restricting the class change could make things inconvenient for players. With this in mind, they will be holding further discussions on the topic.
They should create a level sync type system without level sync lol, basically it just tells you when you are about to break the party buff for the 5 rank difference in people. Everyone in the party would get an indicator with the name of the person about to break buff. For example: I'm in a behest and my name is Zavier Mhigo and I'm a 39 thm at a rank 35-40 camp, just an example. I try to switch to myt 14 conj and bam everyone gets a message like "Zavier Mhigo is going to break party buff" and if you didn't mean to do it, you'd be taken back, and if you're party doesn't want that they will boot you/ yell. I'm thinking the buff can only be obtained from the initial party at the start of the behest and dropping the buff would lose it forever, which would create incentive for people to not eff with other peoples behest and go to a level appropriate one and not leech, this isn't abyssea lol.
Why not just make it so that if someone switches to a job outside of the specified range, they receive no sp/reward? Does there really need to be an elaborate lock-out system?
To clarify, if the behest is r10-20 range and you switch to from a r12 job to r11 it's still fine and you receive sp when mobs are killed. But if you switch from r12 to r9 or r21, the mobs killed during the time you were on those jobs will net you no sp and you wouldn't receive the reward at the end.
There really should be a system for that.
Maybe the SP should favor those who joins within an Otimal Rank, so that not everyone is dumped down because of one Low Rank.
I think that when you talk to the npc you should be in the class that you want to play, after that you should't be able to switch. Also, there should be rank restrictions.
And another thing, we should have a camp for 43+ there are people from 30 to 49 doing behest at BW ;)
Since you are lowering behest participants to 8, why not let people make their own parties and decide their own level restrictions if they choose so. And why not let these parties take on behest whenever they want rather than getting locked out. Too many restrictions in place, people just want to level and get Skill Points.
Just make it so you cannot change class during Behast, inform people they need to be on the class they want to register as before hand and they sign up on this class, then you can check if they're higher or lower, i think FOV is similar if you change class during a FOV it cancels out, so i dont see why this cannot be applied to behast? Either restrict it or say changing class will remove you from behast.
Just treat the Behest like you're in combat, can't switch classes. It's really not inconvenient at all, unless someone wants to abuse the system like that. The only switch you should be allowed, and possibly forced, to make is the change from a low rank or non-combat class to an appropriate rank class.
This is a pretty simple change imo.
Behest I 3-13
Behest II 13-23
Behest III 23-33
Behest IV 33-43
Behest V 43-50 (yes you need to add a new behest set in for R43+
Very simple and easy restrictions. That make sense. 3, 13, 23, 33, 43 is when you you get access to leves at higher tiered camps and 10 ranks later new camps open up. So restrict it in line with the way the leve system works.
Why not approach it like this:
1) If your level is too low you get 0 SP, discouraging lower level players that dont fit within the range.
2) If your level is too high you level sync to the max level. (would make the Behest more popular to all nearby players min rank+)
It'll be really cool to have level restrictions for Behests. There have been many good examples on how to do it.
Yes, though hopefully they'll have camp level ranges listed somewhere.
