Interface works perfectly in this standart => keep them
Quick group is a bad idea i agree with you
FF11 was a theme park , 1.0 was also one , don't see what they would change these .

Don't just throw around wild theories. Maybe if you didn't I would know what you're talking about other than being emotional over animations that add nothing to the game play and last about 0.5 seconds.
I'm already saying I'm cool with the UI standard, I'm just pointing out to Hear No Evil that Yoshi himself said he's trying to bring it to the 'MMO standard'
and why standart animation for our character running ( seriously the idea that there is multiple way to walk is kinda stupid ...)
Never thought i'd say this but i kind of agree with Rokien. I don't want those bland, empty looking animations =/
I dont really care that they took those animations away. Of course I would like them to be there still, as they were nice. However, seeing as they seem to have done it in order to make gameplay smoother I am perfectly fine with them being taken away. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the removal itself had at least a little to do with scaling the game to run well on a ps3.
woooow you are joking right? Content finder, level sync, ui, instances, theme park. Everythign yoshi is doing, is just what every other mmo has done in a different skin. He himself said he wants to standardize this game. He himself likes WoW and other theme park games. He had to explain the staff what the "standard" was.
You are ssoooooo in denial same with everyone else around here.
Oh, lets not forget about JUMP. He justs want's that for asthetics, nothing more, nothing less. It serves no real purpose, also another standard.
So why take out nice aesthetics and add crappy ones is beyond me.
Thanks, now point to me where it says that this change is connected to the MMO standard.
Because frankly, I don't see it.
From your own link:

And so Final Fantasy XIV lives on, but the game is almost unrecognizable. The visuals have been greatly improved, powered as they are by a new graphics engine, which Yoshida says needed to be as impressive as possible, thanks to the long life span of the MMO. The animation engine has been overhauled too, with the niggling lag that made the game feel so sluggish now eliminated.
adding the jumping is not a crappy aesthetic it's so that it don't become ridiculous that your char can't jump from a 1 m cliff ...
Okay, that's a cheap way to dismiss someone's opinion. My point is that after spending months paying a $10 subscription people are acting like they'll ditch the game over a small removal of animation. We really should hold SE to high standards, but a slight aesthetic change is not the end of the world. Do you want the game to work or just look cool? I guess if people do leave over it they'll be replaced by low-end PC users who value the ability to play more.
What the.... has Rokien gone back to his old self? I normally hate all your posts the past few months but.... /liked
Majority of the overall market > majority of a XIV forum thread infested with people completely full of themselves.
The minorities are usually the loudest, and that would completely describe what is happening in this thread.
@Hiir- I would just ignore it. After reading the majority of the responses that the loudest few in this thread post, you know that it's more about what they think it has to be like, and then block off everything else.
Maybe you don't find them scary but i do , i really cannot play to these game and being at ease .
Is Roiken even trying anymore?
I was in the same boat when I started playing. The running/turning seemed sluggish. Eh, I don't care. Then again, I've never been much of a fanatic for over the top animations. Rpgs stopped being as fun for me when graphics became a higher priority than quality writers.
There are many opinions and there are many things, many can be pleasant many more can be skipped, what SE is doing is cheeking how much can they skip to preserve costs, something sad in my point of view but and i say BUT, the animations are there they can add it on something else maybe inside town you will move like we do now maybe not, the whole thing about animations, its cause the frggin animation lock most if not all whined in and out so now we are just harvesting what we seed but asking for better crop.
So I think they shouldn't have removed all animations I mean why not leave them when the weapon is sheathed and just remove them when the weapon is drawn, would not that been enough?
Fluid Gameplay >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> aesthetic movement
Welcome to the massive assumptions thread. How do you know that people wouldn't enjoy fluid animations? When a large portion of the market has never been able to even experience it?
We still have no explination as to how the animations somehow effected gameplay, and until then we can only assume what we will.
I agree with everything you just said this is why i don't play most games all they are is who can be flashiest now.
Edit: @ Jynx enough people experienced this clunky game at lunch and hated it. It's in several reviews how this game was and still is a clunky mess.
My concern has cone true... :( the only MMORPG that ive play feeling freaking statisfied with the character animations is going to be a freaking butchibg f***ing toonish b@*tard...
nah i was just making fun of rokien .
Once again, stopped reading when I saw "Hello Rokien here"
Yay SE for ruining what made this MMO different from others! Woohooo >.>
I think there's a difference of having these decorative additions on when just exploring and when in battle.
But when I want the character to stop running there is a way to make it look nice without giving away control.
Once again I think there's a bit of all or nothing black and white picture painted on these forums. Neither of the sides is 100% right but all are afraid of the extreme ends. (lack of control or crappy animations)
