If the people who completed the relics kept putting it off just because of 1 bad experience or what they hear, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have finished a relic, let alone 8. They could have easily given up when Ifrit was making them his bitch and going back for more since even though Ifrit himself is easy, low drop rate on seals is nothing compared to even half of the later steps in this quest.

Seriously..HD is the least of anyone's worry when it comes to Relic. The only hard part about relic quest is the way some of the content itself is designed.

This is also a possibility.

It all depends on if they want having a relic to be a thing reserved only for the most hard boiled of the hard core for all time. Or if they allow these weapons to be part of the current bigger, better, stronger gear flop and bloat. With the much whispered about Legendary weapons taking there place in the hierarchy of best in slot.

i actualy have seen him out there alot at all of them
but i bet he has really bad luck cuz he probly has to pug it cuz he doesnt have alot of friends on the server or a linkshell worth a damn doing it easily

And for all that is good can we "please" stop arguing and attacking people and such, tell my experience about it and people have a heart attack over it. Sheesh some people need to lighten up a bit.. too much tension and fighting.

its not the point the point is don't jump on the bandwagon and call foul until you have actually experienced it enough to have a real opinion concerning it. There is a lot of "this sucks" from people that haven't even participated in the content which is not good feedback. Also my comments are not personal to Starlord there are ALOT of people that are doing the same thing.

Everyone has different playstyles, mine is getting through 1 hamlet at a time, that's why you only see only "1" hamlet Defended, Yours and some other people like doing all three simultaneously which is fine also, do what you will ^^. But I did Hystmill at least 50 times to know that "to me and my experience" that they have dropped just not on me and only 10 have dropped out of at least 50.

I'm wasn't here to make waves in the first place, I was responding to this thread because I'm giving feedback of my experience nothing more and nothing less.. then some people come and tell me I never or barely did it.

Anyways as I said in my previous post I'm not here to argue or anything, sorry for calling some people Hardcore/Elitist.. I was just frustrated when people are calling me a liar about my experience. Anyways, lets all get along and be happy, have fun and enjoy the game? ^^.

Hamlet is ugly content, lol.

I have all 9 seals so I've been through the hamlet grind. I've also been contributing to LS efforts by farming raptors pretty much every free moment I have had for the past two weeks.

The overall design of the event is awful. It's like doing the first 20minutes of dynamis-windurst over and over and over. If it was at least fun, the grind might have been better. That said, the grind is bad because there is no constant progression (other than improving efficiency). There's no token. Opening that 60k chest at the end is hit or miss. The guaranteed item is meh in all three areas and the good stuff like digger's hat has an even lower drop rate than the seals themselves! All around just awful. Yeah, it's gotta be done cuz I want a relic, so I powered through that with my group, but that doesn't mean I wasn't fighting sleep at 4 in the afternoon on the third run of the day. Hamlet is a snoozefest. Unengaging, unimaginative, repetitive content is boring.

If every event is modeled after Hamlet, I'd sooner force my Hyur to jump into the seas off LL.

Hamlet is enjoyable and innovated content. Allows you to participate in different aspects of an invasion. You are either in the front lines fighting or assisting in the back. Crafters / Gatherers get the thrill of being in battle without drawing a weapon. Countless ways of participating and people complain that its boring? Sure in order to get the seals you need to have a set strategy but nonetheless when the relics are cold its still the best way to replenish your anima once a week not to mention some of the militia gear is pretty damn good. Grab your friends go all DOH and see what happens! Best content IMHO.

Hamlet wouldn't be so bad if you didn't absolutely need both DoH and DoL to get any decent amount of points. The point rewards are really terribly balanced. 10 points for having no jobs, especially no WHM and no Regen? If they increased the amount of points everything across the board gave it would open up a lot more avenues for getting points and make the event more fun, but as of now I think it's really stupid that the most lucrative point item is killing some random zombie when there are a lot more legitimately challenging bonus conditions. It sucks having to drag it out so damn long to even have a chance at anything decent and the 15 minute wait in between runs stinks for how often you are going to have to run it.

I'm fine with having crafters and gatherers be useful and they are, just allow even more open-endedness in how we can make our party for it so everyone can play something they enjoy. We did an entire run yesterday with someone who disconnected 2 minutes into the fight, we were only awarded 10 points for having a crafter that didnt do anythign and 10 more points for doing it with 7. Use the bonus multiplier and that comes out to a whopping 40 points for doing it a man short.

The issue is indeed the scoring system but that just simply depends on how you look at it. If you come from XI or another MMO that has a tally based system for content, it's horrible through and through. For example campaign's XP/AN calculation is straight forward. Hamlet's scoring is fine on its own, but it's just so micromanaged that it doesn't really lead to people "having fun" because of job exclusion and HAVING to have slots to x,y,z classes.

this is why alot of us cant wait for the higher ranks

youll be able to do it without needing "all" the big bonuses at that point and you can probly diversify more(not accounting for the more difficult setting of course)

I just wanted to emphasize that this is correct thinking, and falls very strongly in lines with the whole Final Fantasy theme. People comming together to work as a group to fight a great challenge. That is the underlying theme of every final fantasy, so why should XIV be different?

And if you stare at the mechanics enough you see most of it is incredibly annoying if you are on your own or disgorganized, but not nearly so bad if you are well organized in an good party.

The good news for NA people is that there are enough people from that part of the world playing so making a good LS is feasible. So go forth NAers!

technicaly they do

if 1 person gets a weapon per run, thats a 100% drop rate

but seals drop maybe 30-50% and only 1 at a time, so thats a 30-50% drop rate

Wish the points would add up:

Lets say as an example (don't freak out!) a seal is 150k, the folks that get 60k a run will get a seal every 3 runs, those that barely win @35k will need 5 runs.

You do better = you get your stuff faster.

Someone got 1 weapon per run every time for you? More importantly, a weapon they didn't have? :o If you think about it not only does that person in ifrit have to get a drop, but then there's the 1/7 chance they get the one they want. You only need 1 item x3, it's not like you get only tremor in hyrstmill and vortex never drops.

Well grats you sorted out the post that agree with you and called them good and the post that disagree and called them bad. Please try using your brain. I know its hard to do sometimes but I think you can do it if you try really hard.

Oh and the drop rate on seals is about 50% with 60k points so stop complaining! No you cannot count the times a seal drops to someone else as "getting no drops". Just because you fail to get the seal that dropped doesn't mean it didn't drop.

Problem number one
1.majority of players that are not in an endgame linkshell believe that things should just be handed to them without having to work for it like everyone else.
2.players that want everything and cannot rise up to the occasion are usually the ones who are coming here to post on the forums about how random the drop rate is or how hard the content is and that is because they are unwilling to grind and work for what they get.
3.By making it easier for people to get through the content after a good portion of players have worked through all the kinks and finally after a long grind achieved what they set out to achieve cause the game to become un-popular and eventually it will turn into a game that no one will want to play much anymore..
4.Its happened in the past with a very many games it will happen again because people are so impatient that they do not care about anyone other than themselves they want to be on top without having to do anything themselves to get there. They stand around waiting on other people to do the work for them and then demand that those people show them how to do it without having tried themselves because they are either too lazy to try or have no concept of what it means to work for something.

If it were Primal fights that had to be spammed to get seals, that would be ok. Hamlets are too boring. Up the drop rate or give everyone their own chest. There are challenges later on in the relic quest, no need to make people sleepwalk through a ton of Hamlets.

unfortunately, wether or not you already have an item doesnt change its drp rate....

but thats irrelevent i guess, and yes we usualy always see 1 person get an item every drop when we do ifrit

lol you are kidding right.... people already rage about having to spam primals for weapons. BTW seals are not the only thing that drops in Hamlet, some of the best gear in game drops there.

we had 4 militia items drop from a run yesterday with no seal

you didnt see a single person complain, so damn straight there are other drops, but some people have tunnel vision when they want specific drops and if what they want doesnt drop, nothing dropped at all in their eyes

That is actually pretty lucky, I would say they drop as about as often as weapons for us anyways which seems about 1 every few runs. Though one can always get unlucky we have went a whole day and maybe one seal dropped and then there are days where one seems to drop every run. Seems about right to me, by the time I get all my seals I'll have all the gear I want from them as well.

Went something like 6/6 or 5/5 last night in Hyrstmill.
Also got some Militia Caligae.
No complaints here.

Why are all these posts coming up here about Hamlet Drop rates?

I agree with the other posters that some are thinking "Ahhh no seals dropped in 20 runs" if they aren't the one to get a seal. I would never trust Hamlet drops to a PUG. Seals are something you should do with a LS or trusted Static and should be handed out evenly.

Relics will be Relics. When they become obsolete, there will be a new quest (probably dumber than the current, that will probably involve acing all of the new content between what exists now and what will exist then) that will upgrade them.

At least, from what memory tells me, it's what has been said.
