Yep. Next up, they'll be shutting down service for the whole month of December. Merry Christmas all. :p

I don't really care only costs SE money they could have made. Gives me an excuse not to buying anything from them on the Mogstation. How the economy is they want to make as much money as they can. Guess it's there loss.
They should have Gift Cards for specific amounts as an option on the cash shop and let u gift those to people.
No one says you can't do a secret santa. It just means you can't gift things from the mog station directly. Buy a 10M+ gil mount and mail it. Problem solved.
all the money they made from mogstation alone they could give us all a Christmas gift of 1k more wards for housing XD
it's kinda sad to see the level of some have gotten used to.., to the point that this one change up ends their whole end of year plans that is still more than a month away.
Just cause MMOs have always had Snakes and roaches doing illicit activities at others loss, (and players who should have their accounts deleted for buying from them) doesn't mean it'll always be that way, and stay that way.
They wouldn't be doing these changes if it didn't benefit them, and the game, or the player base in the long run.<and tbh with the threads this past month and about the frequent Bots/potential RMT antics going around.>
It isn't so surprising, that sometime after EW launch that they are finally able to Expand their "Teams" as they stated in the update to the store.
[SE feels the loss of sales more than these individuals who are left out of ideas for Xmas gifts.]
If anything, those who got left without their easy low effort gift giving should be making threads asking SE for a better shop after the period of Locked Gifting is over.
<Since making any more threads about the topic won't make them turn back. Specially since it won't end their goals quicker, and show a lack of direction on their part/following a plan to the letter.
Not paying attention , are we?.
Is the revolution finally happening?
You've done it for last 2 years. What about all the Christmas before then? Who ruined those for you?
The change is a disaster however workarounds are still possible. I mean, you can for example still use steam gifts cards, google gift cards. Just work with what you can.
Starting to feel like some "SE defense" posts are supposed to be parodies.
I'm pretty sure a friend that's hard-pressed to spend $30 on a mount would appreciate a $30 game time code.
Or just throw the entire holiday in the trash. Christmas won't happen this year, little Timmy, because Christmas was canceled.
You know why this happened? Because people bought codes with stolen or otherwise compromised credit cards, listed those codes for resale from legitimate purchasers looking for a deal, and then eventually the original purchase was noticed by the stolen/compromised cardholder and the charge reversed.
Payment processors do not like this. If you make your payment processor angry with you, they drop you. I imagine SE uses a first tier processor, and if you get dropped by one of them none of the others will take you. Chargebacks happened, processors told SE to <do this thing now>, SE complied.
Square Enix didn't ruin Christmas, people stealing things ruined your give away and I really suspect Square Enix didn't have much of a choice but to comply with a request from a big payment processor.
I'd tend to agree and would suggest it's the people stealing things who require a visit from three ghosts to teach them the true meaning of Christmas rather than SE.

The hell kind of accusations is this lmao, also I would advice you to check under Limsa on Phantom, and please report back to me and tell me anything has changed.
There's about 40 lalas under the ground sitting there teleporting all over the place, which is the same if not more than it was before this "fix", I wouldnt call that any better.
Glitch your camera a little and you will see what I'm talking about.
Not that I use the cash shop often or give out codes often, but can SE not make some type of currency card via physical retail stores where they do not have to deal with scammers directly. I figured that would be a decent solution unless it's just too much money to produce or that those physical cards are also easily vulnerable to scams.
I'm not trying to accuse you of anything. If you felt that way, I apologize
It's just your statement "it if it actually did anything to fight RMT, but it really isnt doing anything." is such a strong claim. I assume you know some inner working of RMT.
Also if you ever bothered to read those official announcement on Lodestone, SE has been warning us about the growth of account hijacking for months.
Players didn't care, and changes to Mogstation happened.
double post because my internet died. can't edit with cellphone
That would still have problems and likely still cost money to implement. They could implement an alternate currency like Daybreak's cash and it would still be subject to restrictions where you wouldn't be able to gift.
Ah no this is back?!
