Considering there is a 5 second period in which plates show up when you enter the new PvP mode, I don’t think it’s totally out of the question. But anyway, I’m over arguing it.
To the OP: it’s a great idea and hopefully we will see this plates expanded, as they give us an entirely new layer of creativity and expression in this multiplayer game.
I don't give a damn about what you're wearing or what your character look like, and i sure as hell wouldn't give a commendation based on any of that. In fact, the only reason I'd give a commendation is if someone did something commendable (I though about doing it to complete that challenge log entry once, but I changed my mind).
In other words, I don't hand out commendations. This system would be a pointless waste of the devs time and mine.
If you're looking for validation or internet points or whatever, you can post your character posing somewhere on the internet. I'm sure there are sites for that.
For you. That doesn't mean that it's pointless for everyone else. Judging by my own experiences in random duties, I firmly believe that most players hand out commendations. The current commendation button is kind of clunky and annoying. The OP's rendition of what the dialog could look like is far better than what we have now. I'd love to just have the dialog pop up at the end of the instance so that I can quickly click on a portrait before the player that I want to commend zones out. The current system is a scramble to open the dialog and hope that I can click the name and commend buttons in time for my commendation to go through.
ohh you've got good taste lol. Man, it's a hard choice for me because I actually like most of the designs! 6, 7, 8, 14 for me personally... so maybe more like "all of them". I actually like 15's - or seemingly looked like 15's - design but I'm not too much of a fan of the game itself, so hmm on that..
idk but any of you guys, I've seen enough cat girl butt to last me a lifetime already. Like yeah people wear bikinis and such, huge difference when I can turn my camera away from them vs being blasted with a picture of their butt from their plate lmao. so yeah hard no for me on that ngl
It needs to be an opt in thing to replace the normal Commendations. People don't want to have catgirl butt plates blasted across their screen at the end of dungeons. Well some people do, but it should be a choice.
Yes I agree. But I’m sure the devs are working on making sure the plates themselves will not allow pictures like that. This commendation screen will also hopefully allow players to commend those who have already left the duty.
While I agree commendations should be handed out to the better performing team members this more about modernizing the UI and taking what the devs are already doing and giving feedback so they can make the most of their work.
Remember that some rewards, although just in PvP at the moment, are now additional customization options for your plates, so if they add these types of rewards it would make sense to put these plates in highly visible areas so people feel like these rewards merit acquiring them.
In my opinion though, this method should be the default new option with a toggle in the settings to opt out. Since I do believe the majority of the player base would enjoy the change.
*** provided as you say, that users don’t make trashy pictures ubiquitous***
This idea is so good I can't help but see it as a must have. People being so prude about some butt/crotch need to calm down, its not the end of the world or even the day for something so minor at the end of a dungeon. This adventure plate is a huge boost to glamouring fun and it needs to spread somewhere for sure.
lmao my exact thought - I'm getting the 14 shirt because well.. I play/love it, plus the design isn't horrible & I'd definitely wear it. some other ones though do slam.
but I'm not exactly rich either so :P.. I'll have to control my impulses, hard as it is. I think I saw a cactuar sprite? shirt and that's 100% what I would go for lol
yeah everyone says this until lalafells also start shoving their butt/crotch in front of the camera smh
anyways, I guess call me prude if you want, I prefer to pick my own time to see low poly booty/crotch lmao and would prefer not seeing it every other DF I run. I would go okay with an opt-in/out though
the linking to gear set feature not working is infuriating
Even tho I got quoted here as a naysayer, Im not against the idea. I think the plates are a nice addition. My post on that other thread was meant more like an observation, rather than a complaint. If people wanna do wierd crotch pics, thats on them, idc
I'd be fine with this, if it was either optional, or it only appeared when you opened the comms menu. I don't want screens shoved into my face every duty, that I have to actively remove. a lot of people just want to get the dungeon done and leave.
Do it. I would dig this.
It will negatively affect their experience if they feel it will harm their experience, nor say how people's profile pictures might affect who gets the commendation or how it would make Square Enix limit and constrain the profile system due to it going more mainstream. A lot can go wrong with this, so don't say it doesn't affect anyone's experience just because it doesn't affect yours.
The commendation system is meant to commend those in the party for their efforts. Instead, you would be making it about those with a nicer profile, defeating the point of the system that barely functions because it's mainly just a tank or healer who would get commended.
The solution to lewd adventure plates is obvious: Remove 2B leggings.
This will have the additional benefit of forcing every Limsa catgirl to actually wear something new for once instead of being a carbon copy of each other's glams.
I've posted my plate on the forum (which reveals the statement above to be utterly false), but sure buddy. The more logical assumption here is that I don't mind people taking pictures of their video game character.
Removing features isn't the answer lol
Give us a toggle for these plates. Tired of getting an ass shoved into my face when I wanna smash people with my axe.
Not all of us are into the NSFW pics of people's panties and underskirt shots suddenly popping up out of nowhere when we're not even playing an 18+ rated game.
Do you want to have fun? Sure. Nobody is stopping you from doing whatever you want on your screen, but when it comes to my screen when I don't want it then that's the issue we're talking about.
If you like it then it doesn't necessarily mean it's fun or others should like it too.
I want clarification on whether Adventurer Plates could be considered an "Obscene/Indecent Expression", as listed in the Prohibited Activities doc.
If butt shots are a problem, then isn't the glamour the problem? I don't see how it makes sense to strike an account for a butt shot, when if it wasn't for either the glamour or the emote, there wouldn't be any strike. This isn't modded content, this is all available in-game.
What about cases where people have "normal" glamours, but are covering their characters with the Plate Accents, possibly to simulate nudity? How will that be handled?
I believe the best solution is to disable Adventurer Plates by default and to let players do what they want with them.
However, I'm going to bet that SE will just lock the camera movement instead. But players will still use half-nude glamours, so the problem remains.
Whatever happens, I'm sure it will involve severely limiting a great feature to a point where it might as well not even exist. Start removing the customization and all adventurer plates will look the same, defeating the purpose.
But if we go down that path, then we need to be consistent. Any revealing clothing should also be removed from the game. Maybe just get rid of glamour altogether. You know, just to be safe.
We should just remove smallclothes then, it's our only solution so that people won't make lewd poses.
this is kind of a weird argument lol, glamours and emotes don't enable someone to make booty shots, they do that all on their own. Huge difference between striking a normal pose/emote in a bikini vs. full on crotch pic/sticker simulating nudity that you'd see on tinder or onlyfans or something like that.
I don't know if splashing this in everyone's face at the end of every dungeon, raid or trial is going to make people more likely to give comms or resent the process even more.
The user stated they saw no reason for it, despite evidence to the contrary that other people did find it appealing in the self same thread. So it was a response to make them aware that others may not feel that way. It struck me as self centered. The reason is that other people want it. And the potential to inconvenience others is low.
Later during the thread I explained there could be an opt out method no problem, showing consideration for others. So I think forcing this feature is a little bit fabricated on your part.
However I do not hide my appreciation for the work the Devs have put in and my desire to see it expanded in locations it would make sense.
Yes I said that. Did you read all the pages? You have to remember there’s other pages where people pose these questions and I give answers.
In fact, the sentence right before the one you highlighted tells you all you need to know about whether this is forced or not.
If there is an opt out method then how can it be forced? Unless you have a different definition of forcing something than I do.
Only if SE bans permanently degenerates because in less than 5 minutes after the 6.1 a lot of ""people"" in Crystal started to abuse the tool to create obscene plates with their generic character (always fem miqotes) some of them directly +18.
If I'm not mistaken I recall seeing someone showing his fem cat naked ( porn mods)
As long as we can toggle them off from showing up. I don’t need another pop up in my face like the achievements tab popping up in each location I enter.
No thanks. it was cool but it should belong in CC PvP tbh. I don't need 8 plates showing up after a raid. I just want to get my stuff and go on. If I feel the need to commend someone I will do it but I usually don't unless they did something to warrant it
No they dont. Theres players every single day that stream with plugins and addons visible. They have never been banned for it. I doubt anyone will ever get banned for lewd adventurer plates, even modded ones on their stream.
