I agree, I've been trying for 4 hours to log back on (got disconnected). I'm put at the end of the queue of 4700 people, get down to about position 2000 and get booted from lobby server again only to be back at the end of the list. This is BS!

Frustrating, yes, but seriously guys have some patience.
This is the same song and dance every expansion, and about a week into it all the kinks are out.
Working as intended.
i dont think we pay for early access, but the level to which we are having issue was definitely not explained well enough in their congestion message to the community. They are putting us through a very frustrating situation. i would much rather click the start button and be told, i cant get in queue, then to press the start button, get in queue, and then get kicked out and have to start over at teh end of the line... if i can get back in queue..
If you didn't expect this to happen, I have a bridge to sell you.
Be nice if they disabled trial accounts for the coming weeks. The problem isn't the length of the queue, it's the queue system crashing and having to restart constantly. I got to 1, then it crashed. Now I'm back in the 3k+ over and over.
While your post is correct as far as it goes it does not explain the other issues I listed above which are still prevalent. You had a short que @ 8:00 because this is a work day for most people. It is the start of the weekend and all problems are back at the previously stated levels. If these problems persist on the 7th and beyond I will laydown a real bitch. At present this game is unplayable.
Cry more. You aren't guaranteed service as per the ToS.
If this is "intended", then that's a terrible intention, lol. But seriously, if it takes SE a full week to make the game playable, then I don't see any reason to not unsub for a month and try again in January.
I get it, there's a lot of diehard FFXIV fans on this site because overall SE does do a lot of stuff well, but that doesn't really excuse this kind of hacky intro into a new expac. If people at least had access to old content, then it'd still be something, but people are being locked out of the game as a whole, making the product pointless.
And that's the big thing about all of this; yes, it is a game and it's not the end of the world, but that's why I pay to play this game, to get away from the woes of the rest of my world. While I have disposable income for this entertainment, I don't have a lot of disposable time, so if I can't play when time allows then I simply don't play at all.
If that happens too frequently, well, then I move on. I moved on from Blizzard/WoW, so doing it again at this point isn't a big deal. Don't get me wrong, I would like it if SE figures this out and soon, but I'm not so addicted to the game that I'm going to wait a long time for them to make it workable.
Admittedly, if I could get a bloody house I'd probably be more patient but that's near impossible considering how terri-bad the system is now, oh the irony! XD
It’s not about fixing a buggy game, it’s about everyone wanting to play at once, including people who only play for a month or two then quit. It’s like the newest Disney ride opening up with the crazy 6 hour lines.
I mean, this is exactly what happened the last 3 expansion launches. If you haven’t been expecting this, I don’t know what to tell you. It’s not worth paying money into improving the log in server’s because a month in, many of the people who couldn’t wait will be done with the expac and bored with nothing to do.
The early access is literally just to allow the actual launch to be easier because the “can’t wait” crowd will largely have been filtered out.
You should still expect long lines even into next week, but you realistically will forget this was even an issue a week from now.
This is figuratively “opening day of the next Star Wars movie and you are expecting to walk in and get tickets even though you waited 6 hours in line.”
If you can’t wait, you might be better to unsubscribe and come back in Jan/Feb. I don’t mean that aggressively- if waiting is t your thing, there will basically be no lines then.
The game will still be there tomorrow, or next week.
For the record, less than a day into launch I had a line of 30 people here on Tonberry. One of the most crowded servers in Japan and like 9 am on a Saturday. Again, working as intended.
Dont understand why people are blaming trial accounts.. when they're literally restricted from joining IF server logins are congested
What's gonna happen with our Subscription's days, we already paid for it. At the moment is impossible connect with server even with the lobby.
If they are classic covered bridges, I will gladly take two... do you accept GIL ?
lol the tags. Gottem
I've found that losing your place in queue works... arbitrarily. My girlfriend and I hopped on at the same time, me at 3200 q and her at 3300 or so. I got booted halfway through and relogged just to find myself behind 5k new people. My girlfriend got booted shortly after when she was 1500 in and logged back at 1050.
you didn't pay for Early Access, that was a bonus. you would still be having the same issues even if you didn't buy the expansion yet.
the devs fixed the servers for what they expect it to be after the mad rush happens. let's face it. as it has been stated in this very thread, it is not worth it for them to fix something that will level itself out in a week or so. yeah I know that isn't news you want to hear but that is what is happening right now. a mad rush during peak hours for each data center.
This is the full release. The Idea of early access only works if its not something everyone has.
So why do they call it early access then? Because they hope that by Tuesday things have settled down and the queue will be better. This would mean they have a good release in the eyes of Media and Their own Company.
The Idea of early access makes zero sense if basically 99% of players have it, its like "Fly with me joke"
Would you like to have a fast boarding pass to the plane?
"Yes"
Great here you go, we sold this to everyone today!
Its not Pre-boarding if everyone has it, and its not pre release if everyone has it. I have yet to meet a player who is in EW range and did choose not to buy early access even those who are not in Level range got it for the Earring.
SE not only knew this but they did further throttle the game to have the server stable, Downloads were down to 0.04mb for many players and queue times of +4h are just simply not acceptable. They walked into this knowing it, made bank ... and said "we are sorry its gonna be like this" which costs them nothing.
Got kicked from game and now i have que from 4k+ which means wayting again 3-4 hours like yesterday evening. Thx square for this great weakend -_-
Let's be honest, Dec 3 is the launch day. "Early access" is just term to get us to be more likely pre-order to boost sales during certain quarters. A good example of actual early access is reviewers getting a copy of a game a couple days before the game is released to the public.
2 hours later in queue! 2002 ftw! Well 1 more day to try to log in to an early access that I still havent been able to even try! Pre-order...Right.....GG SE.

I buyed subscription 3 December, now is second day of waiting in queue, what if I'll not login to 1 January? (My subscription ends this day). 5 hours of waiting for now, 2 errors 2002.
I don't want my money back. But I do definitely think it's facetious to claim customers should tolerate bad situations surrounding products they paid for just cause its the norm.
I think Square were right to apologise, and I would like to see more action to get the software more robust when queues of this size happen so that perhaps even if the servers are struggling we at least don't need to launch the game over and over just to requeue.
It would be nice to see them maybe extend sub-time though to compensate for the days we've paid for our subs but have been unable to play properly.
Well depending on when you play and how long, you could not be able to play for weeks. This isn't going away for at least two weeks.
Yeah I feel it would be in players best interest to post screen shots of getting error punished on as many forms of social media they can. They can't fix the lack of hardware now. But they can eat the rebate for giving players more time. EU servers sound like a hot mess. I don't think any NA servers are seeing 10k ques.
is there a way to get rid of my early access so I can play and continue on with what I was doing before this mess?
11 hours of waiting in queue. I give up. Subscription cancelled.
yep 6 hours of waiting in queue...
Look, I get being frustrated but will getting a refund make a difference? Like... won't you just, buy the expac again wherever the situation gets better? You will stop playing ffxiv forever over this?
I do wish we could have some sort of compensation like sub days, perhaps. I was expecting long-ass lines but getting kicked out of the queue is painful.
Relax. Enjoy your day!
sums up how i am waiting for the queue
