This combined with the screenshot has me convinced the Cruel and Unusual punishment was dealt to anyone who has had to deal with you. Your ban is just the GM’s making it up to the community.

Jesus, this thread was a whole package to unwrap. If I were anyone at Square Enix, I would charge you a 3 month sub, ban you temporarily and when you think you can come back and pay for a sub again, yeet you into oblivion for good.

Personally, I'd tweak the launcher to delete the game every single time and force a reinstall, only to have it fail at 99% each time and go right back to 0. That is true purgatory. :p Not forever though, just long enough. That's probably why I'd be a terrible customer service rep, but I believe the universe needs to balance itself out somehow.

I mean if it was something you knew was slightly questionable but this is very bad taste and honestly sounds like you did multiple bad names and thus got punished for each name which then led to having a longer sentence sort of the same if I rob one bank I get charged with that but if I also hit someone then I tacked on assault yada yada. Sounds like you did something bad and got a decent punishment for it.

You willingly named your FC and such for shock value knowing full well what you were doing. Now you're shocked at the punishment doled out to you? You deserved it

He's right. And I appreciate what he said when someone mentioned the dude was trolling - these things still need to be said. To me, it doesn't matter if this guy is trolling, what matters is sometimes others aren't.

I know common sense is not so common but let me ask you something.


In a game that is known for enforcing rules, what made you think having a offensive name be ok? With a community that is more than happy to report people who do offensive things to them, knowing full and well that people get in trouble for it.

Even if you are a new player. You should at least do a research on something you buy as a good consumer. So being a sprout has nothing to do with common sense.

Also I don't think it is really cruel, I mean their game they can ban you and it would not be cruel. It is a service. We don't own the game.


Like don't get me wrong. I'm not offended and don't really care myself. I understand what type of community this is, and what the rules are. So I don't take risks.

Imagine reporting someone for this type of stuff. How boring must your life be? I'm not immature enough to name my FC or Retainers things like that. But I'm also not so whiny that I look at what other players are doing and try policing the names they used.

I can't remember the last time I noticed what someone's Retainer was named. I look at the prices, and buy or don't buy. Both OP and these reporters need to get a life.

Yup, on one hand I understand it. I mean what mmorpg or heck even games most of the time enforce the rules that much? Like TOS is just legal mumbo that keeps the company from getting in legal trouble.

So finding a game that a company cares about and enforces the rules? Seems like bs. On the other hand, as a consumer you could have done at least a little bit of research and saw that this game is no joke when it comes to offensive stuff. Like dang.

And after reading some replies…. Looks like it took all of 5 days for the toxic wow players to migrate here. I’m a former wow player and when I say toxic I don’t mean all wow players are toxic, just the OP and those that think his behavior is acceptable.

Eh the forums kinda always been like this to be honest, as long as it does not flood into the game I'm ok. seems like it is getting stamped out pretty hard when it is found in the game.

I've only commented on one or two threads after being absent for several years, that "Freeloader Problem" thread. The fact that you don't like me as a person, for one opinion, on one topic, shows how one-dimensional, judgmental, and hateful you are.

I'm good at reading people, on the internet and in real life. That doesn't make me hateful, though it probably does make me a little judgmental. If it wasn't you I was calling out it would have been someone else. Again, nothing personal there. The only thing I don't deal well with is other peoples' BS. The forum community is not the same as the game one. We are kinda outcasts. Heck even I get label as a Troll in here, just because I disagree with people. So I understand where you coming from, but I would not take it so personal. Like many people don't like me on here, and I just wear it as a badge of honor considering who we are on this forum.

One thing I will say is if your Overton window is so far to the right you think anyone who has an issue with the KKK and the fourteen words is a snowflake then you need a serious intervention.

OP's case is clear cut, obvious ban. I actually disappointed it wasn't permanent.

Sure does not excuse what he has said but by in large I do think generally we should be far more disappointed with those that refused to speak up sooner or even during the acts themselves within the office. Those working in the enviorments where these horrible things happened.

Just sad that his comments and jokes are unfortunately have a hidden veil of truth that has been going on for years. Yet if someone dares to place blame on the contributing factors of the past people will say you are horrible person.

Either way this entire thing to a degree does show how easy it is to poke fun at the horrible actions of another but how easy we forget that those of the past are implicate of this monster they are now trying to fight.

Careful how you word stuff, this makes it seem like you put blame on the victims for not speaking up sooner, which in such a volatile environment and a country with little social security nets to fall back on like the US can easily destroy your entire life. Double so since nowadays people in game development are very easily replacable since a lot of people went into that field thanks to their love for it.
