The One-Eyed God, indeed.
If I want more in-depth character customization from Square Enix, then I will suggest they add more on the forums. If they can’t do that, and give reasons such as “server packet limitations” or “1.0 code”, then that is an issue that needs to be addressed from holding the game back so much. I will not play other MMOs I’m not interested in playing. FFXIV could be the greatest mmo ever to live, but silly things like 1.0 code holding it back is really just disheartening.
Also, let’s remove politics, because I assume you’re going to bring that up. But, how and why is sexual content of any kind a bad thing? I guess you haven’t seen the female bust slider and 2B bottoms. We’re all adults here. And please spare me the “but the children!” speech.
I mean, even other multiplayer games have some decent "upgrades" in character customization. I don't know where this whole "cuz KMMOs are shallow af they use the sex sells as a thing" have to do with this game needing a considerable amount of character customization upgrades not gated behind some item or such. But ok.
They all ring a bell but it has nothing to do with it. Even non MMO titles have better char customization. A clear in house example is FFXV's char customization. Code Vein and MHW have great options too, granted, the games are different genres and different demands but that an MMO as XIV has less options than XVs multiplayer leads me to believe there can be more but "limitations".
I am not an expert, but isn't MMORPG works differently than single player?
It is confirmed that over use of polygons in 1.0 created a lot chaos with servers; that is why the graphic tune down a little bit with 2.0
(Miquote butt-acopolyse)
Over-detailed characters would created a lot issues and that is pretty much most of Korean mmo feels empty and blant.
You may correct me if I am wrong.
These games are not just single player, they also have co op of up to 4 people in some instances. Not asking for over-detailed characters, the issue is not that you need to trade in "game depth" due to "graphical improvement". But right now XIV even with its current choices, its only using less than half of their options available and the only things characters have gotten for customization since 2.0 is hairstyles, a few face paint options and 3 races of which 2 are not even on the same level as the rest in terms of options available.
I agree with this suggestion if not just for the fact that a lot of items like skimpy swimwear look bad on males simply because of this problem, though not gonna mention the community of bannables who can fix this problem and already have.
I mean you can get away with having it be completely flat there for female characters because that's how it's *supposed* to look normally, but when you're a male wearing something skintight in the crotch area and it's just a 90 degree angle from top to bottom, yeah it looks bad >_>
KEN DOLLS !!!!
i don't wanna be KEN!!!!
i wanna have a Huge-doll-Ken!!!!!
but really no more Ken Doll models.
Pretty much my issue too.
Anytime a friend of mine starts going on how he is the best man around I link him the cascidier voucher skintight thong and go are you sure? Cus we all ain't got back down there (god I wish non cardboard front and rear weren't a thing).
How does getting a bigger butt comparable to wanting a bigger bulge.
Its not even a attractive thing to look at.
Honestly when people ask for this, can't help but feel it has something to do with insecurity issue.
Remember guys, its not about the size of the boat. Its about the motion and the ocean!
The thing is, the only way for you to see the bulge is if you're in boxers and tights. Wearing armor or even jeans you want really see a bulge.
But my point still stands that just because we got a gear and probably the only gear that makes our butt bigger and not even by a lot isn't really comparable to wanting a bulge.
I'm pretty sure this request is a meme but I know some people are actually serious, showing a bulge no matter what someone wants to say is inherently a heavy sexual thing to see...well..depending how it is anyway.
If its just a lump sure thats fine but then that just looks pretty stupid, but I'm pretty sure what people want to see is the actual shape which where its just very lewd at that point.
I'm fairly certain the game has plenty of tight pants and speedos / swimwear. While I personally don't care if this were to ever be added, I will admit that it'd be nice to actually have something that actually differentiates us as men. As mentioned before, we're basically Ken dolls. Personally, I'd rather have body hair texture options first and more beard options, but they could do this as well and I wouldn't mind. I don't usually wear tighter clothing so it wouldn't affect me much.
I think a lot of games make male characters look really odd. Like how for some reason they always have the flattest Hank Hill behind you can find, and the most non-wide hips possible. They end up looking really odd. because they also seem to lack the option to improve this to your liking. Like really broad shoulders with a really slim mid-section.
Oh yeah, ESO does treat males fairly well, I think that's partly due to the fact that it is a western rpg. Males in it actually do look like men, and I think you can actually add more/less body hair with one of the sliders. I still think the games overall customization is lacking in some areas, like you can change stuff, but I don't think it's enough, personally. I do have male characters in that game though, and none in this so I do have a preference for the male options over there than here. You do get a butt slider, hip slider, and you can broaden your shoulders, or how wide and fat your stomach is or isn't. I always make my guys as handsome as possible, and as muscular as I can (or toned, not really bulky), so I do have some specific tastes when I make a man. :p
Ha! I totally get that. I guess I usually try to make characters that parallel myself and your point about it being a western game has a lot of merit. I find that Japanese or Korean MMO's typically go for the hairless men who are somehow stacked with muscle but incredibly lithe. (Not this game as much). I myself am a larger and stronger guy so I resonate most with Roe or Highlander in this game, although the customization limitations has me kinda meh about it. But ESO definitely gives you a wider range. Black Desert also has amazing customization, but it falls into some of the stereotypes of eastern MMO's, and reasonably so since they are eastern. I think I'm rambling, but the tldr is, I agree with your points. Lol
It's kind of a shame really. A lot of Eastern mmorpgs have some amazing customization options, like how you can tailor make your character, but they always somehow end up making the guys look either extremely bulky, or like... I don't know kind of feminine... and shiny. Like either one extreme, or the other. Always hairless. All the hairstyles suck too, in my opinion, like they are always these really spiky emo type cuts, or like bald/shaved head. That's it. There is never like any inbetween, but western rpg's do usually make males who look like men... just usually lack a lot of options.
Yeah, I usually see guys make either idealized versions of themselves, or these super weird and wacky characters usually. Personally, I usually seperate myself from the characters I play, so while I do have preferences I see them as their own thing. Especially in something like ESO, I actually have all my characters done like how I would play Skyrim or something. They each have lore friendly (sometimes generated) names, and their own personalities. I don't go as far as actually roleplaying with other people though!
I hate when they do the weird feminine shiny characters! WHY ARE THEY SO SHINY? Lol but yeah, overall I wish XIV would at least take a few notes from ESO and BDO in the customization department. And like you said, always hairless with a million long hair options or bald. Never any decent short hair options or even mid length options. I never choose long hair due to clipping in every MMO.
Personally, I do RP but before my RL friend convinced me to switch to Balmung, I had never heard of it. (I was ignorant in MMO's back in those days.) I find it fun to RP as a secondary when the game is in a content lull, but it's not my primary. I also enjoy the lore friendly stuff. I honestly wish ESO was easier to RP in because I love Elder Scrolls lore. But XIV does it well enough that I'll survive. Lol
This is 100% mandatory! Let's make it happen --
SE is so not adding that xD
I mean, it is a minor aesthetic thing, but as a male, it's just...weird there's nothing there, nothing at all, not even a shade, on both sides. Sure you get used to it but still wonder...why? Let's reverse the genders - How many women (and men...) would complain if suddenly all female characters were as flat chested as a lala. Don't lie, most of you would, it would be such an uproar it would be patched immediately.
Hey man, what happens in Ul'dah, stays in Ul'dah.
Then add a optional bulge on female gear for those who identify as trans/futa.
Absolutely to this! Why is it this wasn't already implemented but breast sliders were is beyond me
Skai William's claimed his father took the money he borrowed to get a bulge enhancement, so maybe we could work out the same thing with Yoshida with our characters. :3
Lol, jokes aside, I still support the bulge enchantment for male characters, because if the female characters can have a breast slider and 2B's butt as gear then why not give the male characters something more, too!
I wouldn't mind it, but I also think that people equivalate it to things that doesn't make any sense.
I can't even begin to think of how many times I've seen people equivalate it to breast sliders, the whole argument of '' if there's breast sliders then why no bulge slider ''?
It's as if people don't even actually think about things that they're saying beyond the most base level imaginable.
I mean breasts aren't the equivalent of dicks, and even if you're VERY hung you're not going to see it unless the character is literally in their underwear.
You can be super hung and it's not going to be noticed unless you have an erection of steel and the pants are loose while breast size will be very noticable unless it's all squished in and even then it will be.
It's a bit amusing to me how people often accuse others of '' not knowing how boobs work '' if they draw big boobs or boobs that are firm but then they clearly don't know how dicks work lol.
Butts are also way more noticable than bulges, it'd be more equivalent to leg sliders than a bulge slider.
It's stuff that is going to be noticed in most gear while a bulge wouldn't except for basically a speedo or underwear.
Boobs and bulges aren't equivalent to each other, like I said you're not even going to notice the bulge unless you're literally wearing a speedo or underwear.
I do think that there's a lot of homophobia when it comes to this and men with fragile and insecure egos who are afraid of anything even remotely sexual when it comes to male characters and I think that often devs stay away from it as to not upset those people.
But at the same time equivalating boobs to bulges makes absolutely zero sense.
Equivalating them to each other is harmful too because it's why so many people think that women are '' naked '' if they show cleavage.
Question:
If you select a larger breast size in FFIX doesn't almost all of the glamours reduce them to A cups? I can think of two that keep the actual size you chose in the "character creation screen".
Hard pass on that, this would open the next tier of request i.e. give females a bulge and male characters boobs too because people identify as diverse.
Then I would come and request propeller because I identify as apache helicopter and find it outrageous to not have the option to put that on my character as it's only natural.
In all seriousness tho, still no because it looks outright ridiculous and the majority of people feels unconfortable showing their bulge around for everyone to see while in games people do it for the lulz and love to run around in provoking atire to troll around.
I rather see players with good glams instead of big bulges.
I understand requests such a body hair, more beard options, maybe more muscle tone options and more sliders but not bulges...
I'm in favor of realistic bulge. I would not expect anything out of wearing pants but if I'm wearing underwear/speedos, there has got to be something there, ya know what I mean?
But to be honest, this isn't on my top of the list when it comes to asking for more cc options.
The game needs. Ass.
