Time to teach you how to count because it's not as simple as Tank, DPS, Healer:

Melee DPS: DRG, NIN, SAM, MNK = 4
Ranged DPS: MCH, BRD = 2
Magic DPS: BLM, SMN, RDM = 3
Tanks: PLD, WAR, DRK = 3
Healers: WHM, SCH, AST = 3

With this expansion it will become 4,3,3,4,3 which is much more even.

Why did they choose to add another tank instead of another healer? Arguably easier to put in a tank and give it an identity than to put in a healer and give it an identity with the way things currently are. I'd expect a new healer next expansion at the earliest.


Anyway that aside, anyone who would get on board with this non-sense has too much time on their hands.

Aside from all this, I think the thing that a lot of people seem to forget, is that the FFXIV TRUST system is taking into account the need for healers/dps/tanks being non existent (outside of party finder and duty finder or squadron missions). FFXIV trust system is designed and built around being able to play the MSQ solo, which means the dungeons connected to them. While it is sad that healers got the shaft, people will be able to play through the MSQ both in trusts and with friends/companies or duty finder however they want (going into ShadowBringers). Not sure where you're getting 11 dps jobs; Dancer puts it at 10 and they're all different types of DPS so it's not as broad as you make it seem.

I actually forgot about BLU and I wouldn't bother counting it since it's in it's own category of Limited Jobs; In any case my point is that dancer being a ranged DPS makes sense because rather than further increase the gap between the type with the most jobs and the type with the least jobs, this serves to close that gap.

If a queue is taking too long as a DPS, I can just switch to a healer/tank to get through it quicker. Not a big deal for me if all healers that read this decided to never queue for anything as a healer.

no new incentives for FC leaders to acutally want to do stuff with their members, besides saying hello and welcome when they join. And now no healer class... That's the straw that broke the back on this this camel. This offically made not care that I'm going to lose my house from not playing.. It can burn for all I care. Under appreciated post. I need more things to do with my FC, and feel like we need more FC generated content going into the new expansion, side content or endgame related.

Healer riot seems extreme but I could go along with it judging how much of a disappointment shadows slowly looking as. I'm all in for gunbreaker but dancer is in my opinion is yet another from the lately ongoing series of slaps to the face of players and balance. Dress it up in fancy words, cover it up in distinctions of range/melee or whatever you have. Dps is dps in que and worth it makes little difference, last thing the world needs right now is yet another batch added to an already overflowing cesspool. To clarify I don't mind playing as tank or healer, actually I rather enjoy and do that frequently that but I hate being forced to play them exclusively in order to get a reasonable que time. What if I feel like or need to go on any of my dps from time to time? True there is no guarantee that adding new healer would magically increase their overall numbers but it would sure as hell be better than this.

Going on strike is not going to help your case any, matter a fact it will keep people away from sympathyzing with your cause. Last thing I remotely saw like this, was some dude trying to get all mercy mains to throw matches in comp. Does 0 good, just pisses people off.

It wouldn't people hate playing Tank, and Healer as is. what they should do is buff overworld XP so you don't have to force yourself to grind out XP and be dungeon locked for leveling. Not a big fan of the fate system either.

If you want to bring semantics into the discussion you should have differentiated physical range vs magical range.

However, both subgroups are ranged dps. They do damage at range.

Every other kind of Class has at least 3 Jobs. There are currently 3 tanks, 3 healers, 3 mages (bluemage isnt for endgame) and 4 melees but only 2 physical range. So yeah, for the sake of fairness, we are allowed to have one more.

2nd) Please explain me, how a new healer should work and how its supposed to be unique. We have a proactive healer (whm), a shielder (sch) and an utility healer with buffs, that can be both. How the fuck do you wanna fit a 4th healer inbetween there? Sorry to bring it down to you, but right now, healer spots are well used and I dont see a point adding a 4th healer, that basically is just a copypasta. Did you even seriously thought about the bs u'r writing and how a new healer would work out?

I think one of the main things is just to add something new for healers to play with, the game has an overabundance of DPS classes.

I'm not healing untill DRK is level 70. wich is like, not far because i'm level 68 already. so like soon.

What i'm saying is i'm too drunk and too lazy to protest.

I queue for whatever class is in need to speed up queue times. I don't care what nonsense is going on in the background.

If healer happens to be in need i'll be healing.

I don't think the devs are so out of touch that they think having no new healers is OK. They just don't know what to do. I'm not sure what players can do other than express disappointment, and expect much more from the existing healers. I think they know our frustrations, but they're just don't know what to do for whatever reason.

Also, I play whatever strikes my fancy at the time I have everything to 70, mostly geared. I was pld for 4 years. I've played healers in 24 man's and coil. And by your logic, there are only 2 viable tanks, and during 3.x there were only 2 viable tanks.

next a 4th healer could be a buffer /healer aka faith,bravery, oil debuff, haste, dispell etc a gealer buffer/debuffer NOT DOT HEALER.... you can create millions of differnt types

there is also absorb type healing or a healer that hits the tam members 2 heal


just like when i was in 8th grade and rippie my sister stuff all up for touching my plushy shadow my wrath only effects the guilty

also you want productive id show u but yoshi is 2 much of a coward to announce things like no new healer so he does it in japan were the ppl are submissive about every thing... also trust aren't 4 3 months

Sad reality of things when NPC healers are better healers than player healers in certain times.

NPC healers always do damage and healing but certain player healers rather stand around only using 2 to 3 healing skills and wait for the rest of the team to kill off the mobs when we are not even pulling a large amount of mobs so their MP is always above 80% for the entire encounter.

On topic:

I don't really know what they can do with a new Healer anyways because they covered all basic standards for healing being the raw healing from WHM and AST with Shield Healing from AST and Scholar.

Only type of healing left that may be creative would be Damage Healing where the amount of heals provided is based on the damage done to their enemies or that everytime the Healer heals a target they also damage enemies near the healed target which would be a great theme for Chemist Healer Job.

Another is Healing Buffing which is Healing with the addition of Damage and/or Defense buffs to the healed target that is constantly applied everytime the target is healed which results in a Healer Job that must constantly focus on healing to maintain their attack and/or defense buffs but that would just be a more OP version of Raw Healing which would murder white mage populations. Though I was expect Dancer to play like this if it was a Healer.

Yes, please punish players thst have nothing to do with this. Also I still neednto level SCH so you'd make my queues faster.
