I would imagine it's a hunt. Maybe with a special short window and spawn condition like wander around with palico minion out
seems like a set of rathalos weapons would be in order as well for it?
I'm not familiar with Monster Hunter. I've heard of it but have never played any of the games in the series. I might now, though.
Also, slightly off-topic, FFXIV now has 10 million registered players worldwide? That's pretty cool Is that subs? Or some other metric?
all players counted even bots and no longer subbed
The reveal trailer for MHW's side of this already got leaked. It is not Bahamut...we're hunting The King Behemoth. https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunt..._monster_leak/
I swear the armor we get from the Behemoth better be the sickest thing ever or I will genuinely be upset. I already have issues with MHW's art design in comparison to older Monster Hunter games but if they half ass this collab set...gonna be real salty.
EDIT!
Also looking at the trailer for MHW again, this King Behemoth is MASSIVE since...it has a Deviljho in its mouth. And Jho is already super big, if Behemoth is able to carry Jho around like Jho does Great Jagres...I'm scared.
Nevermind, going through it again, it is picking up Dodogama. The lighting just really messed with the scale colors making it have that leather sheen Jho's hide has and the spike rows also screamed Deviljho but, I was wrong.
Monster Hunter weapons going to be uglier then titan weapons.
I hope that potion emote is just a work in progress, because it's missing the traditional post-heal flex that has been the bane of many a hunter pre-World.
I'd prefer God Eater, but I'll still look forward to this.
To put it simply, it's a squad-based action RPG where you team up with up to 3 other players to... well, engage in the titular monster hunting. You're set in an area and tasked with eliminating X number of Y monster(s), from which you receive spoils which can be used to create and upgrade equipment. That's about it, though I heard World took a cue from God Eater (a sort of MH clone) and has a storyline.
Great...more fates.
Its interesting, the angle the promotion page is going at. :D

I'm super excited for this crossover, thanks SE and Capcom!
I really hope it at least stays as long as Garo because otherwise that would make it quite hard for anyone newer.
I find that very shady. I mean a collab is also there to have people start playing the game, so they do hope that Monster hunter players want to start playing it but they are making it so that they need to go through ARR+HW+SB and be 70 to even take part in this..which means people need to buy the original game and two expansion...at least with Garo it was only having a lvl 60 job without the need to finish ARR and HW. So people could just powerlevel through PVP when they reached 30.
Leaving even the hint of a jump potion on the site...
Finally! An event that actually takes place outside of the ARR zones and even seems to be a Trial (since it seems Rathalos is in the first boss arena of Bardam's Mettle).
Monster Hunter World is getting Behemoth (dunno why people are saying King Behemoth. All Behemoth's in FFXIV cast Meteor).
You're not wrong. It'll very likely be unique boss FATEs that drop specific tokens, and we need either a certain number of them (likely) to complete everything and leave the zone again, or a certain number of certain kinds (depending on monster) of tokens each day for about a week or two to get what we need or want from this.
Oh, and the end of the trailer hints at food consumption, so we'll get a unique kind of food that is all novelty and no real use unless you need that 3% exp boost in dungeons.
This is to say nothing of the trial(s) we may or may not be getting.
Speak for yourself, personally I have zero interest in FFXV and love Monster Hunter, so I'm really excited about this.
I do hope it's not just FATEs again though - especially since they're encouraging people to buy the game and level boosts for it! Imagine paying all that just to do some boring FATEs...
If the trailer is anything to go by, I think it's safe to say it's a Trial. 8 players, location is only found in a dungeon (Bardam's Mettle first boss arena I believe), boss cutscene fade-away...
What if. The trial has an extreme. And that's where you get the mount from.
I really, really, really, really hope we get a Rathalos mount.
And I hope the Palico is something we can turn our companion Chocobo into.
FF14 has ugly weapon and gear, every game with a armor and weapon system has ugly weapons and gear
http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/...20161125025839
but they also have good looking gear
they wasted there time bringing this event if they are only gonna give out small rewards like DQ ,making it Yokai watch amount of content would be great
I rather like the boss(es) in Dusk Vigil HM specifically because they can't be tanked and force you to rely on visual cues to identify what they're doing and position accordingly.
Making the Rathalos a higher intensity version of that with more frequent attacks and weakness stacks to punish repeated failures would make for an interesting encounter.
I did not elaborate as I should have, but at the time, my comment was more directed toward events. MSQ is unique, and there are of course many unique dungeon bosses and fights, however, they are still heavily relying on past games for new content.
Lighthouse and Rabanastre pull from XII, Sigmascape pulling from VI, Deltascape taking from V, the enormous amount of bosses/fauna pulled from XI (not just talking the FF staples either), etc. Then we have cross-overs that make absolutely no sense.
So yes, If they make another MMO, I'd like to see them take the time to create unique raids and events that focus on its own specific world, rather than needing to heavily rely on past games for source material. Final Fantasy has a lot of staples within the series, so there will of course be familiar names and creatures popping up, but XIV has gone overboard at this point.
On topic though - I am not a fan of this game having completely random cross-over events. Don't get me wrong, I love fluff stuff, I love events, however with XIV, it's part of a larger issue with me. I feel they've gone the easy route far too often, we're stuck on a content cycle that rarely changes (2 dungeons, 1 raid, 1 24-man, patterned fights, recycled gear, and more), uninspired ideas (see borrowing above), and now we get cross-overs that make absolutely no sense in the world.
I hope we get some more infos like rewards and stuff during today's live letter
but keep in mind that a potential stand alone trial will most likely have MSQ level of difficulty to allow putting it into the trial roulette. Else there will be the Odin problem again were finding groups will be near impossible after most people got all the rewards within a week or so
So if we get weapons, dark night probably gets the jaw blade but what about everyone else? Dragoon Kinect blade? Warrior hammer? What about the casters?
Most likely be palico minion. Rathalos mount. And the classic rathalos armorset with possibly rathalos themed ffxiv weapons.
I wonder what events in MonsterHunter we will have and what gear from ffxiv will be in the game
Likely its going to be fates, but if its intense fates (kind of like how Eureka functioned with Pazuzu where you needed a ton of people to do it), that can wreck people, that would be cool.
i never asked for this i never wanted this but i guess it would be something different. wonder what info we are gonna get at fan fest
K I R I N A R M O R O R R I O T
Also yes to Rathalos mount PLSSSSSSSS
It's overall. Not currently playing, not subbed, etc. It's just how many accounts have been made.
DRK - Great Sword
PLD - Charge Blade (sword mode only) or Sword and Shield
WAR - Switch Axe
SAM - Long Sword
MNK -Tonfa (Monster Hunter Frontier exclusive weapon)
Ninja - Dual Swords
Dragoon - Insect Glaive or Lance (minus shield?)
BRD - Bow
MCH - Light Bowgun
The casters would definitely need more imaginative creations. I'd see just gaining Rathalos scales or something being gained and then turning them in for weapons, giving them the King of the Sky's signature look.
Yoshida - You won't be disappointed.
Small glimmer or hope that it won't be just a F.A.T.E.
