Did anyone else read this as new bosses for existing raids? (IE Darkhold)
If so, that'd be epic

Oh yea sorry I meant change Class. Can't change Class while in battle.
The Job Stone will have an effect close to changing Class. New gears and new actions will be available. Would be cool to be able to do it during battle. Well I wonder if it is the way it works and if it opens the possibility to be able to change Class during battle too.
Pretty psych'd about it. Hope they do the dungeons well. Tired of running through them and feeling like I'm missing the "adventure" in it all.
Not really stressed about delays tbh. If they had of delayed XIV to begin with, some of the issues we all are waiting to get fixed wouldn't have been broken. ;) Just sayin'.
Wish there was more detail on: Implementation of level 30-50 job quests for (add in job). Now I could be wrong or I could be right but dose this mean when we unlock the new jobs that we will be down leveled to lvl 30 and have to level back up to 50?
Im not saying being down leveled to 30 is a bad thing but its the fact that having to level back to 50 (after doing it once) would make the game even more tedious. Now 1 thing that bothers me is if they do down level us to level 30 and than having to quest all the way to 50 is not my idea of fun. As with most if quests SE gives they tend to be long and boring with lots of running here there and everywhere. Depending on how this is done it will either be fun or again annoying.
The way I understand it is that you won't access all the abilities of the Job if your Class is level 30.
At 30 you will be able to unlock the Job and maybe some abilities. Then from 30 to 50 you will be able to unlock other abilities and at 50 your Artefact gear and maybe most powerful ability.
That's how I understand it.
End of Febuary.
Sounds about right.
So Hamlet Defense will be released @1.21a most likely?
That wouldn't make sense tbh. If you want a bonus, log out in your room, if you don't, don't. You were never able to use guardian's favor outside leves anyway, now you can, all you have to do is log out in your room. And from what I'm reading, as long as you do it, it's not going to deplete, unlike guardian's favor.
So from my perspective, the change is nice. Yay for not being homeless and getting more exp as a bonus.
Patch looks really good, no surprise there.
Delay in patch, no surprise there either lol. I've been saying since the last patch that this one will probably come in late Feb to early March, so I was pretty much right on. :)
Excited, very much so. :D
I would like to say to all those people calling me out when I predicted March release, "Why do you whiteknight so hard?"
Nuff. Said. Thx.Quote:

But you don't learn the Job skills with exp and level ups, but with quests.
First quest with level 30 (to unlock the job) then all 5 levels 1 quest.

After reading the Letter from the Producer XXIV, I have two questions for the community reps:
1) Will the new Primal drop be introduced in 1.21? I really hate with passion the current low Primal drops. For the same amount of Ifrit wins, I have friends with 3~4 weapons already while I still have NONE (and I'm not counting the ones they got in double or triple they couldn't trade me!!!! GRrrr!!!).
2) Also, since the patch is delayed, will there be a St. Valentine's day event this year (a mini-patch for the event)?

I'm very curious about that. Hopefully we will have a whole post dedicated on that soon.Quote:

Aren't we already stopping automatically when starting to cast spells? Must be a minor change to accommodate the new moving interruption of spell casting?Quote:

And it looks very very awesome too! <3Quote:
Patch 1.21 is going to be the biggest patch yet since the launch of FFXIV service.
My, my , my!!! Super-mega-ultra-awesomeness incoming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Quote:
But, it’s going to be fresh new content that can allow all classes to play an integral role (not just combat classes!)
*hugs the devs*

One of the things we’ve done so far is make sure that more character customization options will be going in the relaunch version.
Ten thumbs up! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Hi All,
Overall a very cool Letter from Producer! :)
There are lots of things to be really excited about and a few worries. Some highlights for me include:
- Final Fantasy Job System Launch! :) 7 Classic Final Fantasy Jobs and Job Quests (multiple per Job)!
- Artifact Armor Quests & Content! Can't wait! :) (but our Inventory space, sigh :(.
- 2 New Raid Dungeons for Level 50. Hopefully these are the best yet and add a level of interest and intrigue that lasts for more than just a few weeks.
- Player Residences @ Inns - I hope these are "permanent" in a way, and not just a renting situation (where you just have a temp room (as if in a motel or something)).
- Intra-city Travel (Implementation of system allowing for warping within each city-state) - Was this really a problem in our game? I know it's not that convenient to run from one end of, say, Ul'dah to another side, but it wasn't that bad. I guess instant teleporting across the city saves time, but don't we lose some of the feeling of *being in* a live City with fellow adventurers if we just teleport everywhere (now even within the city itself)?
- Food Reform! :) I can't wait to see a new Food System that hopefully *displays* what effects the Food actually does, and sets up a system that's useful for all players (Adventurers, Crafters and Gatherers).
- Medicine / Alchemy Reform - Hopefully we get a variety of Potions and other Alchemy reforms to make the class a great contributor to Eorzea.
- Goldsmith / Accessories / Jewelry Reform - This is also great. Can't wait to see what new Accessories we get. :)
- Job Stones + "Additional slot to gear interface for job change items" - I sincerely hope that the Job Stones and that comment about adding a Gear Interface Slot does *not* mean that the actual Job Stone is... another Inventory Slot taken away. :( I hope it's only a Key Item that we can slot, but we've never been able to slot a Key Item before. Having Job Stones take an actual Inventory Slot (in addition to the 6 Pieces of Artifact Armor set per Job) would be an unnecessary burden and a bit of a slap in the face.
- No Loot System / Drop Reform :( - Yoshi-P and Team are clearly still sticking to their guns on making an unnecessary Time Sink to make us grind away on limited content. Please RESTORE the Original Loot System that had Raid / NM Drops go into the LOOT POOL so that we can PASS any drops to Friends / Party Members if we choose to.
Let *us* decide how we want to spend our time. Don't force drops into our Inventory that are Untradeable and force a Time Sink on us.
We'll see in a few weeks.
Overall it sounds like a fantastic update with a few things that might be troubling. Can't wait for 1.21! :)
Thanks~
Don't want this to get lost so i'll post it again, very intrigued by what this could be.
I read that as new bosses in darkhold, which would be awesome and reopen old content for us. But I could be misinterpreting it.Quote:

The Manticore/Chimera is already in the dats. Safe to assume that its gonna be part of the new dungeons.
It's possible, but they also used the Chimera to showcase FFXIV 2.0, so it could be reserved for that as well lol.
If anyone actually believes 2.0 isn't going to be delayed just a LITTLE bit is completely delusional.
My only question is: What will Bard go off from? I will be leveling that immediately!!!!
I'm going to love this patch!
Great patch.
Only hope the housing will include furnishing too and we'll have the new 'skills animation' finally.
I remember watching the leaked vids of the Aurum Vale way back when. I wonder what kind of monsters will be there.
That's how I'm reading it, as well. I really hope so. Would be nice to know they still care about the old content and looking towards making it better. It would technically like getting 3 dungeons this time^^ Maybe they'll spice up the old NMs too... Here's hoping.
I'm super excited for the patch though!
Do we know if there will be storage in the new housing?
Can someone explain what the ability to toggle sub targeting will do for us?
This explains it all very simply....

SQQQUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
Guardian Aspect abolished.
Time to burn regionals.
I wonder if cut scene replay will replay the seen in current clothing or clothing as it was during the original event. I wore some attrocious things when I was new and poor!
I had some1 in the LS I am in say something about the new jobs can only be used if you are in a party. Now I dont know if this is true or if it is just made up. Honestly though if it is in fact set up that yu can only use the new jobs if you are in a party, I find that counter productive. I hope it isnt that way as I would like the freedom to play whatever class/job I choose.
Now lets not forget that a lot of players have all jobs at level 50, so myself included have no reason to party up other than for the new content (and you know players will have it done in a month maybe month and a half). Granted I havent finished the moogle fight and in all honesty dont really care about it, as it is just another variation of the primal fight/s.
Can anyone confirm this or is it just something some player made up?
Most probably it will use your current gear since it's exaplanation might be usage of the Echo upon yourself. And the way the Echo works is putting yourself in the past memory.
OF COURSE, there is also the fact that what they're doing is probably just hitting the cutscene trigger again and not futzing with the cutscene generation system, so it most likely makes technical sense that it's your current gear.
Your LS mates are halfway correct. The new jobs are a party-geared setup. That is, they're far more focused on their sole roles than being able to do a lot of different things like classes. Or at least that is the design structure that the devs are going after. However, you are not required to be in a party to change to them at all.
