I followed these instructions and was able to get through the Omega single-player instance. Thank you! Unfortunate that this is just a measure to alleviate PS4 woes.. Keep complaining, people! Don't let SE rest on their laurels because you could get through, there are still many people trapped in Quarryhell or Omega Wall.
Its been 3 days for me since im stuck in mor dhona lol, i have a permanent disconect symbol next to my name and i can see everyone running around but as soon as i do anything like talking to a npc i get stuck, btw my internet works perfectly fine with other ps4 games and services.
At last the threads about this issue have been moved to accepted bugs. They also scheduled a hotfix for tomorrow, maybe to address this issue?
At least its been recognised now.
Ill just wait untill the maintenance, got a busy day anyway but if im still stuck after that ill definately try it out :)

Well, I am from Mexico, and I am in a hispanic LS with around 100 members, and let me tell you, there are issues.
Right now an FC member, who's also Mexican, can't play because she's tried every 'fix' they've proposed and non work for her. She can't update the client on PS4, she's done everything, even deleting and reinstalling the game.
A few of our PS4 players have been forced to redownload the game multiple times. For some the DNS fix worked, for others it didn't. My sister included, and she decided to go back to playing on her laptop than re-download the game multiple times. Not everyone can do this.
As of last patch I am getting 90001 and 90002 errors. These are not on my end, I assure you, and only started happening after last maintenance. Yes I am tech savvy :>
Your remarks are of no help, if you've got no issues I suggest you go back to play and let those of us who DO complain.
I heard some vpns make it work on the PC, I'm a Ps4 player but I've seen countless people relying on vpns such as Wtfast to connect, it seems to be a work around till they fix this
I got unstuck with the config Jozu provided, but I want to add my experience with this issue.
I have a second character on the same world and a third, new one that I created on the same day my problems started, on Louisoix. None of these two characters were affected by this issue and I was able to play normally with them, though didn't try for long. I am a South American player with 2 characters on NA server, but only one character got stuck. My character on EU server was okay. I was sure it was NOT a connection issue and my configuration was almost identical to Jazu's, only MTU was default. No idea why changing only that worked...
While I appreciate people posting workarounds for PS4 players. I rreally hope that SE does not think the problem has been dusted away. THIS IS STILL A PROBLEM - so staff need to work this shit out ASAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP - its annoying for all EU players on any NA data centre

While I respect the fact SE is being targeted by DDOS'ers constantly since the release of SB and through 4th of July celebrations, I find their silence completely distasteful. Nobody will be angry with them for admitting the fact they're having difficulties fixing these issues. In fact, i'd be happier if they just came out and said they're having issues restoring regular service, so we at least knew we were being listened to. This silence is what I expect from budget free-to-play game developers. This lack of customer support is the last thing I expect from a respected figurehead in the gaming industry, especially one that im paying £8 a month to for access to their game.

My friend is having a lot of success with Pingzapper. It is something that everyone with this problem should look into if you're on PC. I don't agree that you should have to use a 3rd party tool to play the game but it might be a bit of relief for players till SE figures out what is going on.
A person does not have to understand how fuel injection on an automobile works to put in the key and drive it. Therefore your view is arrogant and unhelpful. Customers are not responsible for anything but paying their subscription and reasonable/average understanding of gaming, they are not here for an IT course. I am retired programmer and Chemical Engineering technician so I know about infrastructure of Networks, clients etc. An "announcement" in this case is placing official information on the login PS4 page just like the completion of maintenance, accounts suspended for RMT, etc.

When the fuel injector works, you don't have to understand the system involved. But if the fuel injector goes bad and your garage has to spend time trying to fix it, you're only making yourself look like an idiot by shouting at the mechanic to "FIX IT NOW" because you don't understand how much work goes into having to take the engine apart to replace the part.
Ok since you obviously missed the point of this post. Imagine you go to get your fuel injector fixed, one month passes and you get no phone call from the mechanic. You decide you're going to call them and they say to you we haven't done anything to repair it but if you do this and buy all the parts your fuel injector will work. First off they should have told you ahead of time rather than make you wait a month 2nd you paid for a service you shouldn't have to do anything else involving the repair besides pay and give confirmation. Everyone wants an announcement to what is going on. This problem isn't just isolated to Stormblood. You shouldn't have to use things like VPN changers or Port-forwarding to use a service you pay for. Port-forwarding works in some instances and VPN services are not usually free. Some people on here have given SE more than a couple years I think it's fair for them to make an announcement. . . .
