I have EU version, too (Germany)
I can buy crystas
Are you maybe in england or outside the euro zone?
A small reminder that it is not the region of the game that determines your available payment methods, but your country of residence.
eg: the EU region includes Switzerland and Australia, but neither of these countries are in the European Union or use the Euro financial system, but as far as game companies are concerned, they come under the Europe division's management umbrella.
I just don't understand what the fuss was about here, back in September of 2010 I signed up for an SE account, added my info to Click and Buy. just today my payment went out without me having to do anything other than have the money on my bank account, there was no giant confusion or mess like this thread would imply, Sure it would be nice to cut out the middle man and have SE charge me directly, but Its not really making any difference for me.
I wouldn't have a FUSS RO DAHHH with Click And Buy either, if only "THEY" accept my credit card! BUT GUESS WHUTTT they don't accept my credit cards! So what i'm suppose to do? wait till they add Crysta which they did say to add before 6th of January 2012?! but now delay?!
Are you able to please elaborate if this will be a direct CC transaction to SE for the service fees (not crysta)? I think knowing that that will definitely be an option would put a lot of players minds at ease. I know several who refuse to come back until it is in place, and I'd like to reassure them.
Quite a few issues have arisen with various people regarding click n buy's services. For those who have the ability to purchase crysta still need two third party routes in order to do so are are punished by having to purchase more than what the monthly fee actually is.
I can understand if the new system has gone beyond the deadline, it's a complicated thing to prepare. However, I feel it was in extremely poor practice to have commenced the billing of accounts adhering strictly to its own previously set deadline without the new alternatives being available as reported it would be. I feel the billing date should have been pushed back a week or so until that was completed.
They should have had this ready by today. They've had well over a year to work on it, so there really is no excuse.
I, as well ,am only presented with Click & Buy option.
When I proceed to register to Click & Buy they do not accept my country.
I have mailed SE about it and they replied that they can't do anything about that and that I should mail Click and Buy.
I did so months ago and they never replied.
It's nice that SE want money and all but it kinda feels that as long as Japanese players can play - They don't care.
I would not even bother with C&B I was for them at first, then after reading all the "info" on them, I canceled my account with them and luckily had card issues of a another kind, so I had to get a new CC. I now use Paypal > Crysta method. I am more confused then anything, as to why SE screwed this up so badly. but like I said before.... it is very clear that SE cares for their customers in the following order....
JP > US > EU > other
Sega is worse IMO though... they are more like....
JP>screw everyone else (Talking about Phantasy Star Universe)
Before SE even released this game back over a year ago, they should have researched a bit more into options that everyone could use.
Here is my crazy situation in regards to billing:
I woke up knowing it was pay time for FFXIV. I knew about a week ago I set up the characters I wanted to keep. I had my ClickandBuy account setup and ready since FFXIV's release. Everything should just be ready and I should be able to play right? Wrong!
Apparently, what I setup a week ago never registered or was never saved or something strange like that. So when I saw this I thought okay I'll just reclick the characters I want to pay for and reactivate them and it should work. So I thought...it would be easy. Of course more aggravation to follow.
When I clicked the reactivate button it wanted me to log into my ClickandBuy account. I typed in the email and password and the next step it wanted me to do is type in my date of birth. This is the part where I felt I was in the Twilight Zone. I typed in my date of birth and it said it was not correct. I checked, rechecked, and checked again to ensure I typed in in correctly MM/DD/YYYY. Tried it again, didn't work. I am 19 years old, so it is not the problem that I am too young to have an FFXIV account. Since I tried a few times and kept getting the message preventing me from reactivating my characters, ClickandBuy blocked my account due to too many incorrect attempts.
All I can say is SE I want to give you my money, but why is it so difficult? Please make an easier pay method without so much confusion.
You know what's weird? Click'n'Buy didn't have any problems with me, other than me being an idiot and set the spending limit too low to do a 180 day sub. Paypal rejected my crysta transaction and my credit card rejected Playspan... Guess I'm sticking with the evil Click'n'Buy.
I woke up this morning and Click and Buy has charged me $47.94 for 180 days of service..... cute....
The real question is do i spend the next few days trying to get back 18 bucks or is it really worth my time......
I'm breathing just fine, there was no panic in my post..... I just didn't add toon fee... jeez
Man if i have to read one more post about billing Ima snap........ PPL need to learn to read. Most of the billing crap is SIMPLE, even as simple as most of these PPL are posting. I don't mean to be mean but come on guys. I can't stand reading stuff but its rly not that hard. "Why did SE charge me 47.94???" Iv seen this to many times alrdy. READ READ READ READ!!!!!!
/end rant
see now he needs to breath ^
Ok, so anyone knows how much Crysta is needed to pay for a month? if the information is correct, the basic service fees are $6.99 until Ver 2.0 goes live, but I have no idea how much each Crysta's value is...
They want break away from click and buy til their contract with them is up. Whenever that is, but they really should have been prepared to have more options.
Click and Buy is full on crap... you can't pay 2 accounts with 1 click and buy account... how dumb is that...
My account paid fine with Click and Buy,
Wifes I had it all setup the same way through my click and buy account and her's got rejected and got error 105 checked on the forums and it's Click and Buy's problem where you can't pay multiple accounts from same game on same click and buy account... was lucky enough since I'm in NA region I can use Ultimate Pay and buy crysta through paypal
Feel sorry for you all that's having problem with C&B and not having the crysta option... Hope rep gets back on this issue ASAP...
This kind of payment type of stuff should of been taken care of way before this subscription fee starting... /facepalm
Wife just woke me up 6AM just to tell me she can't login... I woke up hour before to feed the baby and was hoping 2.5hr sleep till I had to get ready to work... nice way to start Friday morning LMAO orz
Even to buy crysta you need a click and buy... This is effing stupid.
What I find extremely infuriating about this issue is the following:
Complaints have been lodged with Square Enix about the payment options since FFXIV's launch.
We have been given an "official" response on the matter, and how long ago was that? Around six months ago.
Bayohne and other reps: Are you telling me that your company is so incompetent that they cannot iterate a new payment system inside of two months?
Seriously, WTF. I know there is a faster way of solving the problem, and the way Square's been going about it is horribly slow.
Get it done by February, if you want to have any hope of keeping FFXIV on life support.
Simple: If people get too frustrated with CnB and are being double-billed, and they cannot get their subscriptions for too long, that's going to turn them off from the game - quite possibly permanently. Someone made a huge mistake in not having better options available for when subs get restarted.
How do you go about cancelling an account with them? I've heard horror stories about C&B that makes PayPal horror stories seem like fairy tales. I'd like to completely cancel my account since I'm lucky enough to have UltimatePay available for me.
Edit: WHOA, BACK THE TRUCK UP. You played PSU too? I was Bahn on PSU - sometimes hung around that area where everyone grinded for White Beast S. I know exactly what you mean - the rest of the world got complete crap for content, and unlike Square, the American division was at the mercy of Japan's division (they had to go to the Japanese division to get new content). It's kinda ironic that we've moved on to something that is both better yet worse at the same time, huh?
Hey. I tried to cancel my account with ClickandBuy, and there were problems. So I just took the easier route and had my bank cancel the card and issue me a new one. Problem solved, and huge "WTF" moment for CnB when they find out the card they have on file is invalid.
I cancelled my click and buy account when I got ffxiv at sept 2010 and I still keep the email proving I cancelled just in case. They will charge you a convenience fee of you don't cancel the acc. With them. And probably even sue you if you just cancel your cc. Better do it the right way with them. Buying crysta with PayPal is much better and reliable. So far no problems with either click and buy and payPal.
mmmm PSU.... god I wish Sega had at least SE's current standard of CS -.-
YES YESSSSSS!!!!!! i CANNOT express how MUCH i want this....
The funny thing was, my name was actually a joke based off of Terry Bogard of Fatal Fury/King of Fighters' fame BURN KNUCKLE move. I had no idea there was a "Bahn" from a Fighting Vipers game. And yes, PS2/PC. PC - such a bad port. :(
Not going to happen. No Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity either.
If SE has an exclusivity agreement with CnB, then no, there is nothing they can do until the contract runs out. Yeah, it sucks, but sometimes people and companies make decisions that backfire. Personally, I haven't had any issues with CnB, but apparently many people have and it is definitely in SE's best interest to add more options at the earliest opportunity.
