I'm confused as to what you think your point is lol.
I don't think she's saying they're not allowed to disagree, just as you're not ( at least I hope so lol ). I think maybe she is suggesting that perhaps you shouldn't be so hostile to those who disagree with you. You started a thread on an open forum. Not everyone is going to have the same opinion.
For the record, I would too like to see them unlocked when the dev team can find time to do it. Would much rather see new glamours first before hand.
@Youkulm
At last, someone who doesn't come off as triggered. Thank you for that response, and yes you're right. I need to keep in mind that this is an open forum where anyone can voice their thoughts. It's just quite depressing how some of these posters like to cherry-pick what you say and turn themselves into white knights.
Well this topic is more about the answer at fanfest being flubbed than whether or not we should have them. I mean I guess if you don't want them you can request that they not take another whack at answering the question.
They gave the response of wanting some hairstyles to stay race specific to preserve some of that uniqueness as an answer to the hair part of the question, if Yoshi had just said that about the underwear half of the question too that would've at least been an answer. But instead he said some weird thing about "ID 0" so now we have this topic.
The "ID 0" answer was an excellent answer to anyone who understands how the equipment is programmed into the game. It would be difficult to implement, precisely because the player's skin is a part of the gear model. Additionally, although Yoshi-P didn't mention it, each piece of gear has locations marked to coincide with the character model "skeletons" Basically, they would have to go in and remake each piece of hempen gear to coincide with each races skin, and recode them to correspond to all race skeletons. ADDITIONALLY, they would have to completely redesign/add new textures because....well let's face it: lalafell hempen gear isn't going to be easily adapted to a elezen and vise versa. So in the end, what players are actually asking for is for SE to design a whole NEW set of purely glamour items. Simply put, this project would take a good deal of time to complete by staff members who already have their hands full delivering content for the conclusion of 3.x and the expansion. He's not saying that it'll never happen, but this just isn't a priority item for the dev team. Don't get me wrong, I want to see this too as I rather dislike my Au Ra's hempen set design, but I'm not going to hold my breath that it's going to happen anytime soon either.
Now the "Booty Slider" on the other hand.....I would totally sink money into the cash shop for a fantasia to give my Au Ra an actual backside! ;)
yeah on the booty slider part, he did also ask the players if they would be ok with "stretched" textures on gear and that is how the long hair came to be, when the playerbase seemed to be ok with the clipping issues long as they had access :P That said the texture stretch will limit how "big" it can go but that is ok, think most of us just want anything other than flat lol.
Then why make a post like this?
That's not at all what the answer he gave was. He said ID 0 cannot be changed, and a way around that would be to create new ID 1 gear that looks like the ID 0. You're adding a lot of your own answer to his to try and make it make sense. How do you explain the "underwear underneath your underwear" part of his answer if you think he's saying ID 0 is just the skin model part of the gear?
I'm asking for it. There. Can't speak for the entire playerbase now.
Ok, I'm not sure if this is what's confusing you but I'll try to make things a bit clearer.
ID0 is the skin texture. Currently hempen sets are ID0 which means they only change the texture of the skin to look like you're wearing it. If hempen sets where made to be ID1, you would still have your standard ID0, which is what you see when you don't have anything equipped, beneath the ID1. Since our naked body has underwear which are clearly visible when you just unequip everything, you would then have underwear(hempen sets on ID1) on top of that underwear(naked body on ID0).
I hope that clears up some things.
No, this is wrong. Especially for Aura and Lala hempen sets, they are clearly not just a texture on the skin. They are all regular gear models like every other piece of gear.
Each piece of gear that shows skin has it's own skin model. So when you equip a swimsuit for example, it doesn't use the "naked" model underneath, otherwise you would see the tighty-whiteys in the spots where it reveals more than they do. (Or, you would see a hole). The hempen gear already exists as ID1. So when Yoshi talks about how if they did this you'd have underwear over your underwear, and he means ID1 is the hempen gear and ID0 is the naked character, that's already how it works. It makes it seem more as if he thinks the hempen gear is the tighty-whiteys.
Considering hempen sets can be glamour onto other armour I don't see how this is a particularly technically difficult problem. I suspect he just misunderstood the question. After all if ID0 couldn't be changed then how would putting a Hempen shirt in the Chest slot (ID1) change the appearance on the character?
I asked for the awful looking underwear and weird sandals on bare feet to be changed, actually. I guess I'm nobody. :o
No, this thread has nothing to do with whether they carry out the suggestion or not. It's about the fact that when answering the question, it was clear Yoshi didn't know what the question was about. There's another thread for arguing over whether providing this gear for all races would be good or bad. This thread is simply about what gear it was that was being requested and why Yoshi didn't understand the question.
This thread is about Yoshi's answer not matching a question that was asked. Pointing out that he did it in more than just this one case is certainly more relevant than all the posts here talking about whether people do or don't like the suggestion. (Or did you forget there what this thread is about. You might want to check that before accusing other people of being off-topic.)
But in this case, it's not about which question they address, it's about answering a question without understanding what the question is.
No. That's how it used to work in a different game. We aren't playing 1.0 any more, and it's not 1.0's former mechanics that were the topic of that question and answer session. In the game that currently exists, the Hempen sets are simply gear that take the same body and legs slots as any other body and legs gear does. The extra slots that used to change the appearance of your underwear no longer exist, so there would be no reason to have questions about them.
They don't need to cater to every request, but it's aggravating when they don't even understand what those requests are. If they understand the request and decide it's not worth the time/effort, that would be a completely different matter. But when their answers don't pertain to the questions they're given in answer to (whether it's racial unlocking of hempen sets, or difficulty of dungeons and trials, or any other question), that leaves people feeling they're not being heard, even on the one occasion that exists for the sake of dialog between us and the devs.
80+ people agree....there's no way square Enix hasn't noticed this yet.
Implying that SE has better use of their time then read the same forum topic as well as the other one that is basically the same that you made http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...tion-addressed and as well as another that was made http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...pen-set-styles. Here's your cookie, SE might address your 2 forum posts, and we can move on with our lives, just because X number of people disagree with Yoshida you're missing key context points that have already been addressed but you haven't listened to them or haven't addressed what they're saying. Not to mention Yoshida was also confused which in the end led to his answer not matching a question that was asked you really need to read more of your thread :P.
The gif is a sarcastic "okay" as there's already multiple threads on what you're already conveying about and as there is a new expansion, patches, other content that they need to get ready for we're not getting an official answer until SB or later.
@Awful
I'm not reading all that, you learned how to summarize in school. Anyways, these threads will continue and people will continue supporting them. Okay?
Okay.
more like 80 people dont know that the english general forums is not the only place where people can give feedback :P
I've been trying to stay out of this thread, but this post just reeks of you having not paid attention to what the thread is even about.
It is more than PAINFULLY obvious that this thread is about a question during the QA session at Fanfest where Yoshida misinterpreted what was being asked and gave an entirely different answer for another separate request; one that many others have had before but not the same as the question that was asked.
That is the whole point of this thread— no one in the QA session asked for an underwear slot. The question was about the literally "Hempen" gear items, not the small clothes. Yet, for some reason people are coming in here going: "How do you know that nobody asked for this?" when honestly, whether or not anyone asked is a moot point as that isn't he point of this topic in the first place.
And these threads will also have people who don't think the idea is worthwhile and will voice their opinions, or people who disagree with your slandering methods, because you can't control what is said in an open forum. Okay?
Okay.
You also learnt how to read more than two paragraphs in school as well. In case if you haven't realised, her 'summary' was the GIF which you were unable to figure out, requiring her to explain her reasoning to you. Oh, but I guess no one else is as clever as you.
