And on Ifrit it's a lose lose for ARC. You either sacrifice damage and take the auto lock, or you sacrifice damage and get in range for melee, taking damage from Sear.
Seriously, there's literally no excuse for not having ranged AA.

Steady us of light shot and close shot and heavy shot, will do a steady and staple amount of damage and cost 0 TP. Every other ability was nerfed to far to be of significant damage. Either way the most important factor they have in common is damage at a safe ranged distance. Thus your point about my point being moot, is a moot point. Now say that 3 times real fast.
I would but I think I'd hurt myself.
Either way I hope to god the devs give in soon. ARC is pretty interesting, but being glued to the ground is a real PITA.
Why do you incorrectly make asinine assumptions that I am giving advice on how to play?
I am making a comparison of TP usage and ranged damage with archer and mage classes. If you chose to be a constructive part of the conversation, please do.
Thanks for stating the recast time captain obvious. That was my point, is that it is the same recast as the mages equivalent ability.
Before you attept to moderate the discussion and tell myself and other posters that we are not qualified to have an opinion because of our class level perhaps you should apply that to yourself. You archer is not 50 either. Your highest mage class is 14 so you have no basis for comparison.
there was no need to jump in, be clueless about it as you do, and attempt to randomly insult and belittle my opinion because of my class level, but hey, I can do that also. Tell me if it makes you feel better about being part of the debate.
So why don't you go finish your homework sonny boy, and let the grown ups talk.
How did i misconstrue?
He posted for out of the blue. His post was totally off the topic. Made a false claim that I was giving advice, when i was simply making a comparison. I believe I am justified to defend myself when someone attepts to claim I said something I did not. They tend to call that a lie.
What I don't understand is why your interjecting. You don't have a horse in this race. You do not speak about the topic in your post in the least. Frankly, your just straight up trolling me specifically at this pont.
I mean contribute to the discussion or please just don't post on the thread.
My archer is 49. You can easily check it on the Loadstone. That means, I'm more qualified to speak for the Archer class then you, no matter how much you're gonna wiggle.Quote:

Mage has nothing to do with it. You made a claim, and I quote: "Steady us of light shot and close shot and heavy shot, will do a steady and staple amount of damage and cost 0 TP. ...Either way the most important factor they have in common is damage at a safe ranged distance."Quote:

I can repeat myself: your claim is false.
Heavy shot cannot do "a steady and staple amount of damage" because its recast time is 30 seconds.
Close shot cannot do "damage at a safe ranged distance" because its range is too short.
Now go cosplay a grown-up all-knowing turkey some more.
They will do steady damage and it your staple of steady damage. Likr it or not....disagree or not. Close shot and light shot are staples at this moment in damage. They cost 0 TP......
0 TP.
Steady damage.
Ranged shot at a safe distance as the mage staple abilities.
How are those statements not factual about light shot and close shot?
That is simply not true. You are wrong again. All of mage's spells have a range of at least 12 paces. And many of their spells have a range of 15 paces.
Maximum range for a close shot is 10 paces. And the best range for a close shot (you did want to do damage with it, did you not?) is 3 paces.
Shouldn't you stop spouting nonsense about archer already?
wait.....so your claiming close shot is not a ranged attack ?
I made no claims of "best range" or "at least"....only claims I made are that they "are" ranged attacks, and steady damage, to claim I said anything else if to simply Lie.
Nt to mention, you have no abilitiy to claim to know anything about mage abilities with 0 level toward THM and only a 14 Con, you have no idea what your talking about
Troll on my friend troll on.
Yet more wiggling. You're grasping for a straw now.
If I have made a mistake in my comparison of ranges of mage's spells and archer's close shot, you can try to disprove me. So why don't you, if you're such a great mage and not just a pompous turkey?Quote:

Would you be so kind as to explain what you are saying?
I have said the same thing in 3 different post, each time you quote me you tell me I am incorrect in a different way from the last. I am not even sure you understand the topic of the original post I made in this chain of discussion. Perhaps it would benefit you to reread it, level a mage so you actually have a comparison to comprehend the post itself, and perhaps drop the direct name calling you started.
Wait just one second....I thought people were complaining about getting the auto-attack. That's the general vibe I got from some of the threads in general. Now you're all complaining about not getting the auto-attack? Can't please anyone these days I guess.
Honestly I think they should just give Archer a ranged auto-attack and take ammunition out as a gameplay mechanic. Ammunition as it stands does nothing special, they all do the same thing. If different arrows had different effects, I'd say leave it. As it stands now it adds nothing to the gameplay. At least if they did the above you wouldn't have people complaining about spending money and "wasting" arrows on auto-attack.
As I was saying before. I personally believe that Con/Thm/Arc should all have a ranged AA. Arc should be pierce resist, and as mentioned, cost no arrows, Con should be a magical dart or what not thats a combination of its elemental attacks, as well as Thm.
Carraway, that's day 1 ARC technology. Get with the times.

P.S. How do you embed Youtube videos on this forum?
What all this about an animation lock? I have no issues with an animation lock with anything on arc
Cause knocking and pointing an arrow when a mob is 1 ft away is kindda silly when a good swift punch to the face is much more exciting. Just cause ur an archer doesnt mean all u should be able to do is spit arrows lol thats like taking away the ability to clobber mobs with ur staff as a mage
I understand the op. position as i love archer class, and before it was nerfed it was the best class out there, about the range AA i dont think its all that bad, because as we already know the combo system will add complexity and having to be shooting a normal shot every time we can is not the best option, maybe with this new system we wont even remember to shoot normally.
From what i read i know we still have something like multishot but maybe will have more uses than a lightshot, so i'll wait and see.....
"Animation lock" refers to your character being frozen in place while you perform an action (e.g. whenever you fire an arrow). While melee DD can use auto-attack to engage the enemy and be able to move instantly, ARC is frozen in place every time they attack.
