Thanks for this info. However, one question still remains.
What will happen to the stats of the currently dyed gear in 1.20?
For example: Will a (current) Cobalt Haubergeon (Red) still have the +6 STR after 1.20? Or will the +6 STR be removed and we'd be left with a normal Cobalt Haubergeon (Red)?
I really hope it's the former. I can imagine a lot of people getting pissed if this wasn't the case, myself included =/
I'm kinda hoping that they will make all current dyed gear into Undyed with stat bonuses, although there's ample time between now and the patch to get some undyed gear and prepare materia for it.
I'm guessing they'll no longer be obtainable but usable after the patch.
Wait... gear is dying? does that mean the three city-states are becoming nudist colonies?
I'm still left with a ton of questions.
I'm still confused as to whether or not we'll be able to dye items that are currently coloured. Some people say it's been answered, but either I missed the post entirely - or it's right under my nose and I'm not seeing it. I haven't seen any definitive "yes/no" answer, but please quote and/or point me to it if it's there.
They've said we'll only be able to dye items once, but does this apply to items already dyed before 1.20? Or is it a rule that will take effect after the patch. Will I be able to dye my Cobalt Cuirass (Red) a different colour? It would be nice to know if I need to start gathering up new materias and catalysts and sets of armor to be able to dye my gear.
It would also be nice to know if the ability to dye gear will apply to items crafted before 1.20, or if the dyes can only be applied to items crafted after 1.20. Will colour palettes still be restricted by item, or will all the current color dyes be usable on crafted gear?
And last but not least, I'm assuming that "rare" items will not be able to be dyed? The Silver Tricorne, for example.
Seems like they should just get rid of HQ dye since the end result is the same regardless what you use.
