I am getting a good laugh out of this.
Still waiting on my flying nimbus
Why did they even region lock anything to begin with?
Because China and Korea like the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom and Europe, have censorship laws. These countries also have differing values on what counts as obscene, how socially acceptable it is and how free writers, authors and artists should be. Korea and China's happen to interfere with the inclusion of certain elements of the game (The Gold Saucer I think was ought right cut form those versions because of gambling laws)The items in question were made to compensate for these (somehow. IIRC correctly at least one of these versions had an alternate way of getting the items like Fenrir and such. On the other hand its likely that China might had banned stuff like the Bunny outfits due to the heavy gambling association, geopolitical problems or due to their opinions on sexuality [this might also affect the Swimwear and Thavnarian Dancer set])
This is incorrect, nothing at all has been 100% cut from the game (at least the chinese version) and very little has even been modified. The gold saucer in its entirety including outfits is in the chinese version.

World of Warcraft have Korean and Chinese clients and neither of these two countries are locked away from the rest of the world when they play WoW. I find it odd that Korea and China aren't allowed to play with the rest of us. I was looking forward to seeing K and C in the Duty Finder language list.
While I have nothing against the cash shop as it is right now, I do think they are testing out what and how much people are willing to pay. It is a small-scale F2P test run imo (no, I do not want this game F2P).
I am just glad I am not interested in most of the things on the mog station, including the dress. The bottom part with those frills just looks bad.
That is pretty...
You people have complained for months about the region exclusives, things you weren't supposed to have. Then they add it to the game because of player feedback, and people are complaining again because of the price this time which I think is fair for bugging the team about this for so long, plus that it's never going to go away and you can buy it whenever you can afford it. The only problem I can see here really is that it's not account-wide.
My only problem is I wanted the Korean dress much more than the Chinese.
Mreh.
Yes, "bugging" a company to sell us something. Oh, the humanity of it all! People aren't necessarily complaining because it came at a cost, but the cost is more than double every other glamour made available. Saying "well, it was supposed to be exclusive!" is rather flimsy, seeing you could make the same argument about Lightning's gear or even the Scion cosplay. Those were also only added due to player demand. Admittedly, the cost may be grudgingly tolerable to those of us with enough low leveled classes to make use of the added "perk." But for anyone buying this with all their jobs at 60 or not vested interest in leveling other jobs. That same "perk" is rendered meaningless.
Would be nice if you had the option to buy it with or without the bonuses if it meant the latter option would reduce its price.
Only $18? Rofl..SEs FINALLY getting smart. God knows half you guys(gals meibe..) reading this post would drop $120 w/o blinking for a Piggyback-atop -Tifa-Lockhart' (with suspenders) mount. Look what people went through for Twintania. Am I lying? This post gets 10 likes, my point is proved.
It costs a lot, no arguing about that. But it's possible that SE had to spend additional money to get the items to our version of the game which increased the price.
Better overpriced option rather than none option.
Now if only the promotional items could follow...
~The dress makes me look pregnant from the side. :( Probably wont be buying it. :|

Many people who complained for months, including myself, specifically said not to add it to the MogStation. Here are a few examples
The problem, I guess, is that more people in that thread said they would pay for it. The demand was clearly there, so SE released it as a purchasable item. Now all the people who cried out that it should be in game are getting louder, while those who requested it are modeling it in game.
As an aside, the dress on the first post of that other thread is 10x better looking than the dress they implemented =(

Clearest image I can find of the Korean gear, and it is dyable.
It's unfortunately not as simple as SE deciding to release it. It's content that was exclusively designed for a specific region and thus held claim over it in its entirety. Due to the large demand for it, there was more than likely a push for negotiations to claim shared rights, however something like that does not come free, and if it's seen as desirable, does not come cheap. So this is not something they could have released for free without detriment. This is the catch when it comes to fighting for content exclusive to one place or another.
Well, SE doesn't handle distribution or anything like that in the region, it's a different company that does that, so it's possible they hold the rights to the items. A scenario where SE had to pay to release the exclusive items in the other regions is not only possible, it's plausible, which would account for the price hike.
If this is how they're going to be pricing the international items they can just keep them over there IMO.
I didn't sub to this game just to get gouged by double dipping.

Operations are being handled by the Chinese game company Shanda Games on servers that are separate from Japan, North America, and Europe.
Ohhhh nice! I'm going to buy my bondmate one for a surprise.
I'm pretty sure Shanda Games is the one that made the prices for these items so high, it might have been part of the negotiations to make them available to the SE servers. Maybe what enticed them to bargain was that Maid outfit, since I'm pretty sure it wasn't made available outside of the NA, EU, and JAP servers. At the very least, this will appease the people who desperately wanted the outfit and are willing to shell out the money for it.
Wasnt there once a picture about a room tour at SE headquarter which showed the creation of the chinese exclusive mount? So it seems that SE creates everything for them and they just handle the rest? Anyway the prices are way to high for me, so I will pass on this. Nice to have them available but they could have put them in the Gold Saucer or maybe as a price from the new adventure book.
So show me where individuals are providing feedback, cause all I see in this who post is people complaining, no constructive or positive feedback so far.Quote:
Wow people will find anything to cry about. If you don't like what other people are posting, don't read it! No one is putting a gun to your head and telling you to spend your time reading it.
That aside, people are providing feedback. Chill
