1800 esoteric is not that bad, if the information are correct... i means if you do your dailies you can get as much quite fast. but i will hold until see what the people will bring as information after the server is up.
but i feel it's kinda dumb to make the relic a 230 when this next week for most person they will have earned a i230 weapon with the lore (that will be upgradable at some point)

let's be honest the grind of anima is too heavy right now for motivate people doing it from now... do gather the stuff is kinda insane, either they reduce the number of item needed for finish the anima part or.... increase the speed we earn the part for it.

because like said, next week most people will have a lore weapon.... and at worst, it take 7 week of easy grind to earn one... when even if you do the same level of grind with an anima you can't hope get the i210 counter part.

i get that they are trying to give use stuff to do, but one more time, they fail to notice that most player don't play only one jobs... make most of the farm take 11-12 week is kinda sick.

and about the player that only play one jobs, they are not the norm... it's them fault to miss the point of the game. i don't see why they continue to give us farm that will reach countless week for earn stuff.

i will take the example of the craft/gatherer (that are about the same principle used for the relic) it take 12 week for equip in redscript one jobs... but for the craft and the gatherer you generally use multiple jobs... no one will only have one gatherer or one crafter... it's the same for the war and magic counter part... no one play only one jobs... make a grind duration exceed more of 7 week for one jobs.... is a bad design since no one is really playing only one jobs anymore.

Well, even though I dunno if/when I'll ever finish one of these 3.x relics, going back into a 24-man raid for something that isn't Void Ark will feel refreshing, to be honest.

Well 1800 per oil. So 9k eso. Still a fair amount that'll take all but the most insan- I mean, uh, dedicated players a few weeks. Plus the Anima weapons are, for many jobs, considerably better (see the Bard example -- crit/det >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ss/det). Plus they're overbudgeted in general, which is always cool.

it is not that bad. 5 Weeks for my weapon since esos I use for ikone materials

There aren't many jobs with better relics than the lore.

So with the roulette bonuses you have 260/9000 per day. Add in dungeon bonuses (80 and 20/40 depending on the dungeon) and you have at best 380/9000. That means that, assuming you do the roulettes for 7 days in a row you have 2660/9000, meaning over the next 7 days you'd need to run Amdapor or Antitower 80 extra times to get it within the week. Assuming you stocked up 2k eso before the patch came out, that'd be down to 55 additional times. Add in the CT weekly, and at VERY BEST that's a "mere" 32 additional runs of Antitower or Amdapor City hard.

Have fun with that. I'll keep my sanity and get it in 2+ weeks.

I haven't kept up too much with the meta for healer jobs, and their secondaries kinda come down to preference (except scholars who love crit).

So the list of people whose anima is better than lore is:
Bard, Monk, War, DRK, PLD, SCH. 6/13 objectively better, and 2/13 where it's iffy (ast is crit/pie vs ss/pie, and whm is det/pie over ss/pie).

Less if the CT weekly does give out Aether Oils.

7200 eso + CT series over 1 week, 5400 eso + 2 CT series over 2 weeks and 3600 eso + 3 CT series over 3 weeks are actually fairly sane grinds for this stage.

Yeah I think I'll try to get the weapon casually as well, served me well in getting Hvergelmir and Deneb. (currently gunning for Majestas, thought getting that will be slower considering the Eso loss in making the other two hyper condunductive)

CRT/PIE and DET/PIE are better combinations than SS/PIE, so you can add AST and WHM to that list of Anima > Lore

SS/PIE is better for WHM. WHM works better with SS, faster heals, faster DPS. AST works better with Crit because it has that extra 5% spell speed bonus in Diurnal and makes SS less worth and nocturnal is better with Crit.

There has to be another step it cannot be as simple as get 5 oils.

the trouble with the beast tribes it's it take between 4 (arr) to 6 (hw) days for get one item,that too long, worst, why make it not the same value? one ask 13 and the other ask 18... for the other change, maybe... but i doubt it will be interesting the midas/gordias part, i feel the 10 runs for one item far too long too.

most of the previous step was for make us have something to do, the trouble is.... this step is sick and dumb. since we have more than one jobs, why make it soo long. especially for a weapon that is now obsolete... if the lore take 7 week of light grind for get it, the previous step must ask the same thing, since it's only a i210 weapon.

most of the grind in HW was made with in mind people that only play one jobs.... but that not the main core of the game, the game offer us the possibility to play different jobs, why not reflect it into the relic. since it's never the best weapon.

ps: for the tribes just a reminder, for the arr quest you need 4 day (for get the 13 mark) meaning 13 quest for one item and for HW you need 6 day, meaning 18 quest....for only 1 item. when you need 80 of them. we mustn't forget that new player are still not at this point.... meaning they will arrive to that part (like for the craft/gathering) and simply see that they have weeks and weeks of grind before they can expect to earn the same gears than other player, indeed it's possible to earn good stuff from token and such, but with the laws out, i have seen people struggles for get inside the 60 roulette or even the expert.

a lot of the idea behind the grind was to buy time, for give them the time for add new content, however it become a massive pain for any new player or person that don't play everyday, to the point that they are leave behind, reducing the possible amount of player that will partake inside bigger challenge/craft/relic content.

A few days? I expect someone to have their i230 Anima weapon by the end of today. If you capped Esoterics ahead of time, you have a head start in the quest. Add in the CT weekly reward and you already have 2 out of the 5 done.

If you're wrong and it isn't incredibly expensive... That means you have to pay a million gil... Which means that it's incredibly expensive for ilvl230... Which means you don't need to pay the gil... Which means that it isn't expensive anymore...

I think they are going to try and make certain contents popular again. So I am betting that it will involve Diadem, Crystal Tower, Coil of Bahamut, Guildhest or a leveling dungeon from HW. Personaly, I am glad aslong as it does not involve crafting or gathering.

i hope it too, sadly.... with the previous step asking for critical item, i will not hope too much, soo far the relic 3.X is simply bad, most of the design behind are halfassed and are only used as a means for push us intoa type of content that they can't keep living without it. worst the whole purpose of the relic: "is a weapon that take time to be earned" when in the V1 it was: "the best weapon for your jobs"

sadly with the raider that did cry a river over the zenith relic that was at the same level we did see how it did go. same diadem was destroyed for allows the raid to get more player, when from the start the raid did never gather this much people. naturally people do the normal version of the raid, it's quite accessible, but ask most of them if they want to go into savage and i'm sure most of them will simply answer: "don't have the time" "don't have the static for" or simply "not interested".

dev try to make the raid as the mains activity what it's not.... what most player do? group, stuff at 4, that the main activity, but for yoshida it's not possible to create hard content for 4 player. he did say it while the fanfest of london... result most of the content are tuned down for make the raid more attractive...
i wonder how many % of the player base did finish BC13 before hw and even how many people did finis A4S now...

i want the relic to stand one more time next to the raid weapon. if you have a static it will give you the choice to have two different weapon... choice is not bad by nature.

some people now think "ill get the relic done and with the a8 tokens ill buy a weapon for another job or buy more gear and buy the weapon later"
since the dark gobdip drops in a7s it might be obtainable from the new void ark
i dont like my main job relic stats and i like the tom weapon stats more
by the time 3.3 come i might be able to upgrade it to 240 if its obtainable from the new void
and the next step will take at least a month after 3.3 and god knows what kind of grind will it be after a very easy step

unless we can chose the stats we want"which is what i liked about the 2.x relic" the next step the relic will continue to be useless to me and yes im not forced to do the quest but ill get it done anyway
with the many ways to obtain a weapon as good as the relic or better in heavensward,at least let us chose the stats we want...
its a nice step for those who like their weapons stats

still the awoken>anima step is not as bad as the zenith>atma>animus steps

Except for savage raids they made everything in Heavensward easier. We will see if doing so brings in loads of subscribers like ppl think it will, or if more and more people just get bored and quit playing.. My guess is the latter.

Consistent heals (DET) are better than faster cast times. A healer relying on SS is more than likely one that's spending more time playing catch up to incoming, scripted damage instead of just timing their heals properly. Meanwhile, SS is only a DPS gain for BLMs since the MP issues that comes with stacking SS doesn't apply to them.

This is the 3.25 step, not the 3.3 step.

Seems like the biggest complaints about the 210 relic weapon were answered. This step is not a long grind, doesn't involve crafting and the weapon is relevant to non-raiders for a good while.

It seems to be the new way of doing it. An easy step to the tome base level weapon, and a big step for the upgraded level. Though I really think they need to make the upgraded quest availble well before the upgrade item is made easily available.

So according to the reddit, you can grab the oils from the CT weekly quest before you even accept the next anima quest.
Very nice indeed. In a way it is i nerf, being able to work on 2 steps at the same time. So by the time you get all the tokens, you'll have the oils and be able to upgrade it instantly.

pretty much, but no matter how easy they make it.. people will still complain cuz they have to play the game for longer than 2 hours to get it.... I really have to stop and wonder why ppl sub to a game they obviously don't enjoy playing... seems like doing anything is too much for the devs to ask nowadays lol..

I'm very happy. I'm currently 56/80 and 8/16 and queuing for the CT weeklies. Once I finish this step, I can immediately complete the next one.
