I think it was somewhat foolish to remove the ranked rewards from the 4v4 matchups but I really think the hate for solo queing should stop.

People are currently playing bad in it, but it will all balance out in the end. If you notice people in high ranks still breaking CC or running around doing stupid stuff...then there is a problem. The ones breaking CC, that is like your ~1000 MMR rated WoW player. The 2k + will be riding diamond and will be better at thinking on the fly and working as a team. Just needs time to balance out. We all started from nothing.

My experience of the first night of The Feast was spending well over an hour queued for 4v4, then ditching my friends and queueing solo. Got in within 1 minute, had a great match with great people which really got my blood pumping. Shame that 4v4 seems dead in the water outside of prime time on a quiet datacentre like mine. Guess my friends are never going to PVP with me since they're all Adders and I'm never leaving Maelstrom :S

They probably won't add rewards before they come up with a way to prevent win-trading.

This is hilarious, because at high play AST and SMN are no better than the other classes. This is a statement made by an inexperienced PVPer.

My guess is that it will come with the start of the season. Pre-season is their beta test.

First day impressions. Nobody knows what a bind mark is, CC is constantly broken, and I have a tension headache or an Aneurysm. You need to have a rank/match requirement for inexperienced pvpers. Either R40 or 100 unranked matches to que for solo ranked.

A ton of people spoke up about the BS which is triple triad tournaments.... Being able to rig, no DF for it, riggers get a huge amount of pts compared to non-riggers, etc etc.... It's been over a year and they still have not fixed it. Nor have they fixed chocobo races. Those chocobos require a lot of work, and yet you get almost nothing to show for it.

I'm not sure why win trading keeps coming up. The ranking system feast uses is designed to stop that.

You will win/lose the same amount of points if your opponents are about the same rank as you. If you do 5 win trades each you end up with essentially the same score because when you lose, you lose all the points you gained when you win. The higher ranked players will end up losing more points and gaining less.

This does assume the rewards will be given out according to the top ranked players and not the highest number of wins but why would they introduce a proper ranking system if they are not going to use it?

Edit: As I'll likely get called out on it... your first 500 rank points are safe and you can't lose them. Also just read up on the seasons more, your reward is determined by rating. Win trading won't get you a top 100 position for a season.

Yes praise Zodiark they haven't started banning Win Traders or removed the language filter from (Light Party) duty.

I need to make sure my opponent speak French, even though I can't talk to them.

The dev. team will be carefully monitoring the pre-season data and checking for the possibilities of abuse so the data from the pre-season will be one of the tools used to help make a decision.

As the sentence regarding rewards for party rankings in the play guide information is causing confusion, we're going to have it removed for now.

It would also give the community a huge event to look forward to and would be a fantastic way to debut the new spectator mode that Yoshi-P discussed.

I'm looking forward to hearing the final update when the season officially starts!

Thanks for the infor Bayohne. Are the distribution of rewards also subject to change?

I'm all for giving the top players special items, but when these items are limited to data centers and when the tier rewards are only accessories (which I think are poor options for trophies. Being a tank, I rarely if ever even see my accessories and for jobs that do have them visible, they aren't very noticeable) I don't have much reason to fully participate in The Feast's rank play. I know I'll never be in the top hundred in my data center and tier rewards aren't something you can show off.

In terms of feedback, 4 on 4 - Light Party has been very enjoyable, although it seems that matchmaking still isn't in effect, as platinum/diamond players are instantly being matched against teams with no tier yet, over teams with at least bronze or higher. However, if this was the intent for preseason and matchmaking still isn't in effect, please disregard my comment.

As Blubbers mentioned a couple posts above, I really liked his tournament-style reward system idea, to avoid potential wintraders from obtaining the most prestigious prizes, and to keep the season active with participation.

If this is possible from a tech standpoint, this would be amazing!

That's a nice idea though if everyone in the tournament getting the accessories for showing up that's enough freebies. No need to give top 16 teams consolation prizes. Only the top 3 should have awards imo. But yeah as you said the exact rewards could be worked out later, the idea itself is really nice.

I like this idea because in this format, the top teams that win are winning because they have won a match, not winning because they played more games (Which is the current system for rewards.) I'd much rather the rewards be distributed by skill than by seeing who has the most friends to log into their account and play matches 24/7.

Hey Bayhone. A suggestion if this is possible... Regarding the "Abuse Cases" is it possible for the Developers to Disable Language-Selection for Feast Party 4v4 Premades? Without Language-Selection there is no possibility of Win-trade abuse to climb in rank. This also doesn't matter because you're partying up with four people, the language shouldn't and won't matter.

Competitve integrity is necessary for The Feast, and this game mode can be widely successful if this can be put in place. A lot of the community has fallen in love with The Feast and PVP in FFXIV, I'd like to see this change for Rewards to be possible.

Yes! Win trading should be a bannable offense. I have tried to report wintrading before... as it impacts the experience of other players, if they get the top spots through wintrading, people playing through normal means are now locked out of those top spots... ...But the GMs weren't buying it....

There's no sense in making rewards only for Solo. The Feast is a team system, you need communication, strategy...
Besides tons of people use The Feast for Tomestones farming and that's annoying for people who likes PvP. We'll find tons of casual players who doesn't care PvP at all in Season one and that makes harder for us enjoying this kind of content.
