I would LOVE to explore the ocean and find lost islands and unique places. So i hope SE mantain their idea about player-own-boat in the near future (there are already several island maps in game). Maybe a future Expansion with the ocean zones and an elaborate boat system.

yeah boat is dual i recall ffxi boat ride for the 1st time when it ran in to the ship that spawns the skeletons and I hide in the captains station, in fetal position praying they wouldnt come and kill me

Phantom train would be cool, as for the boat well first they need to make the water look like its actually moving :P

Have that massive Leviathan jump out the water ever now and again, have undead pirates attack like they did in FF11 and random monsters spawn on the deck.

I would love a Train, I dont remember playing an mmo that has trains, would be soo good since they've been used a few times in previous mmos. I'd much prefer to wait for train than airship.

they could possibly introduce a card game like ff8 and 9, and possibly play other players while riding the boat, and i'm all for random encounters, i can just imagine, adventures ar all taking a nice relaxing boat ride, when, it starts to rain, oh well its just a little water, then suddnely lethiathan pops out and takes a bite out of the ship

and i have always wondered, why do they have a cannon if they arn't going to use it

also i think that really high rank fish should be at sea, and even bosses that can be activated by fishing.

While I agree with having a train of steampunk type lore I don't think the phantom one fits FFXIV's lore but still would be cool. Now I believe we should have all modes of transportation availble in the future, complete with better animations, variety and even would be nice to have levequest of some sort while in transportation mode. Just imagine! Wouldn't it be awsome to be able to shoot guns at the bad guys or monsters while riding on your armored choco? Would it be great if your suddenly being attacked by pirates or sea monsters while enjoying a peaceful boat ride across a well animated sea? Wouldn't it be cool if you on an airship and suddenly the Garleans attack and you have to fend off their soldiers,ect? Wouldn't it be wonderful if your on the train we are mainly talking about and suddenly your attacked by bandits? Would be a neat idea to have NM's fights on these modes of transportation also. Our limit is our imaginations and ideas (and programming too lol). Kudos.

sea horror on the boat please.

Sea horrors + a boat that rocks, absolutely. Even when it's clean weather and easy sailing, the horizon should gently go up and down slightly as the boat moves. Maybe we could pass a small island or two on the way. Better yet, have birds sitting in the water. Stuff like this would be great. Sea horrors should be bad-weather only, however it should be possible to fish them up. Undead pirates at night!
