Wind-up Onion Knight / Puff of Darkness
[3.0] The weekly restriction on rewards in Alexander: Gordias has been removed.
Mmm nice.
Indeed...

...and that's not even my retainer, that's my own character's inventory, because my retainers are already full.
Having said that, I do have two concerns.
1) There's basically nothing new to buy with Company Seals, and hasn't been for quite a while now, if I remember correctly. I mean, Eagle and Swan Feathers, really? Even if they didn't amount to only two new items, the old treasure maps have been dropping so much of those that they've been well under 1000gil on the market board for ages (as far as I know), so what's the point of this addition? Unless some new recipes will require them by the dozen - new recipes for the highest level omnicrafters, something tells me, meaning it's still gonna be a very niche demand...
2) There's no word about raising that 50k seal cap either, which has been around since the start. And we've had so many item sets that can be exchanged for close to - or even more than 1k seal (for just one piece), that it still feels like idk what to do with either the items or the seals. ("Crafting mats", some say I'm sure, but those too have been around for so long, with such an abundance of seals, that there really is no need for extra effort to bother with them.)
+1: Why don't we still have Expert Delivery achievements, again?...
This was actually the original intent for this area. It was originally designed for Hinterlands and the shire to be the same zone. So before they separated them, we would of been able to fly around anyways. But they changed that due to not wanting congestion to effect the hinterlands, with the thousands of people afk. I'm happy with the flying. But also the new aethernet, would of been enough on it's own. But again not complaining. I'm a full supporter of getting around easier in this area. I'm assuming the npc that lets you port outside will be removed, sense the Aethernet reward for attuning them all usually lets you go outside.
Also from the notes it appears that they are putting all of the Eso upgrade items in the vendor? That seems a bit odd to me. You would think they would filter them in peace-meal. Start with Coat, then Twine, then Wyvern Horn. That's what they've done in the past. Although maybe the fact the patch is late, we should assume this is normal. But it looks like both the hunts and void ark weekly will let you have any of the three. That's a slight departure from how they've done it before IIRC. I wonder what the cost of the items will be with logs(500seals each). 6=Horn 4=twine 2=coat? Maybe 8/6/4. Sense they are rewarding a drop weekly from the void, then its easy to assume the cost would be high in logs. Unless they want us to gear up in a week. But again, the patch is late, so maybe they just letting us catch up idk.
I think the horn is the wyvern mount summoning item, not the weapon upgrade, which is a gobdip lol
Woops, my bad. I actually got through re-reading the notes, and I was like wait didn't yoshi just say in live letter we wouldn't get the weapon yet.. So Ya that's my bad there. lol.
Seeing Sastasha of all dungeons on that list is hilarious.Quote:
[2.0] The parameters of enemies and mechanics in the following dungeons and trials have been adjusted:
Copperbell Mines / Sastasha / Haukke Manor / Brayflox's Longstop / The Sunken Temple of Qarn / Cutter's Cry / The Stone Vigil / Dzemael Darkhold / The Aurum Vale / Copperbell Mines (Hard) / Haukke Manor (Hard) / The Howling Eye / The Dragon's Neck / The Chrysalis
They don't want congestion, they should have the afk-kick permanently enabled. Can't wrap my head around why this game, struggling ever so much with network traffic/infrastructure/whatever, having a 15s-entire-inventory-backup in place, tolerates dozens, hundreds, thousands of people rooted to the same spot, not doing anything at all, for 2-5-8-10 hours. Completely insane.
No need to assume this, it is in the patch notes. Well, doesn't say he will be outright removed, but...
...really not sure why Idyllshire needs aethernet though. I mean if we were to restore the aethernet network of the Hinterlands, and Idyllshire's would be tied to that - that would make sense. But Idyllshire itself? And mounts? ... Yeah, really not seeing the reason. It's far too small for all this.Quote:
[3.0] An aethernet has been added to Idyllshire.
* In accordance with this change, the goodly adventurer no longer transfers players to different locations.
No fan of that myself, but...
If I had to hazard a guess, it would be because ranged dps also have the "freedom of movement" to go with dps. How accurate that is now with our bow wizards is up in the air. :/
Used to be a thing where melee were shunned over ranged dps because they had to dodge boss aoes and cleaves harder.
It's terrible, it's like they don't want new people to learn anything. Nerfing Stone Vigil and Garuda normal really? They build character and force you to improve.
I seriously hope those are not all nerfs.
Reading a sheet of paper to know which coral to touch... No..way, you are asking too much, and that coeurl? Bloody hell.
The interface for joining an Exploratory voyage couldn't be designed any more clunky from the description.Really? So, before you embark, everyone must gather in the workshop. If you are using PF, you must guide all the folks to your plot and into your workshop.Quote:
* All participating players must be inside the free company workshop when undertaking exploratory missions.
What purpose does any of this serve? What is wrong with just having a DF type of interface? Full party, off you go.
Looks like a tremendous amount of development effort has gone into the minion battles. Here's guessing that content will be popular for about a week or two after release and then be done only by a tiny portion of players (chocobo racing anyone?).
Because even now there's someone in Idyllshire asking where the NPC is. And most of the time they're asking for a half hour or more before someone finally tells them. They haven't said how big this aethernet will be. All we know they could have just put the exit warp on the aetheryte like it is every other city. Either way, this brings Idyllshire in line with the cities so there should be no confusion how to leave town from the aetheryte.
Considering that you can get 210 gear in it but it will have random stats, plus the fact it gives minions and mounts and materia, I highly doubt that the content will be only popular for a week or two. Chocobo Racing didn't have any great reward to it, it was just something to do for itself. If you wanted MGP for mounts/minions/glamour, you always had other methods. If this gives Grade 5 materia, then that alone will be enough reason to pour months of time into this.
With the nerf to the dungeons and trials, I feel as if they're now going to be to the point where no one is going to give a hoot about boss mechanics because everything is going to be lolfaceroll.
Not only that, but newer players that DF for a dungeon that is considered more "challenging" or "difficult" Will wind up being those people that squeal about how hard the game is when there's nothing that forces players to think about what their class can do or encourage cooperation to get through content.
This is my biggest gripe about the patch.
Same reason that everyone has to gather in the Hitherlands for savage or in the zone of the raid (with the coils before it was in duty finder) This isn't in duty finder. So we got to go to the zone of entry to get in. In this instance it is your FC's workshop. Not hard to piece together that.
Also I am looking forward to exploring my fc. I think this will be pretty big for awhile. Due to all that can be done.
We don't know if it's a nerf or buff or just something slight like more reasons to go to the side rooms in these dungeons. I think just wait for the offical patch before people start going crazy over what it might be.
Ok that mean no third party software or editing a file is needed anymore? That good but it could always been used already. Still won't be able to use the touchpad so guess the third party software still needed?Quote:
[2.0] The PlayStation®4 DUALSHOCK®4 controller can now be used on the Windows version.

I agree, here comes the under
They are in fact very good news.
Now crafters will be able to progress through the i150 > i170 stage at their own pace and feel like they are progressing instead of having to crash against a wall of grind. This change alone, will potentially bring back a lot of the dissapointed crafters with the red scrip system back to crafting. In fact, im the one who thinks this is how red scrip change ratios should have been from the begining.
Whoops meant under cutters*
You're misunderstanding Waeksyn's post. That last bit is talking about the Lords of VerMinion -- the Gold Saucer minion battles. Not Exploratory Voyages ^^;

;_; What about furniture that's expected to survive?
(No humour; didn't read version: It's amusing that the patchnote text spells "dyeing" correctly, but the screenshot has the incorrect "dying".)
Thing is, ranged dps are universally less dps than melee and more for their utility right now, but there's no real extra useful utility from having either brd+mch or blm+smn that putting a penalty on groups with brd+mch+caster or blm+smn+brd/mch makes any kind of sense. They're essentially gimped enough as is.
I can understand the change; it just would've been better if it had been a penalty to 3+ tanks, 3+ healers or 3+ melee. Penalizing 3+ ranged dps is just rude.
Or if they'd stuck to the same role groups as in the Limit Break tooltip they show nearby:
http://img.finalfantasyxiv.com/t/cc5...8e7308e_65.png
...and kept Casters and Ranged DPS separate.
For the love of the Twelve, it even highlights the word "role" and then separate them into those groups... I foresee confusion in keeping the role groups separate when they're different in different content.
I am kinda confused. When a member leaves/get kicked does that mean people who decide to leave the instance while "looking for new party member" is active will then get penalized for 30 mins, too?
As it stands now, as long as one person leaves/gets kicked the rest can leave with no penalty.
[2.0] Players can now exchange Allagan Tomestones of Poetics for the following items
Encrypted Tomestone
Carboncoat
Carbontwine
Well, it's about time.
Never had a problem with this. Once the bees are at half HP I cycle through them and chain stun them. ONLY using my stun.
And it's not connected to fast blade's cd, it's connected to the global cooldown.
The simple fact that it's *on* global, with NO cooldown, is why it's spammable and lasts 6s.
So many long awaited QoL additions in 3.1... Thank you SE! ;;
Tataru confirmed for last boss.
