i100 and i110 gear no longer special

I have not posted since closed beta. Yeah I am that person the days where titan hm was actually hard! When they called zenith weapons plus 1! When echo didn't exist! When mor dhona was nothing but a few dents and a dirt road! Now back on topic pvp gear yeah I am long time pvper and first thing some think is "another pvp rager come to hop the wagon." But this is more for the people that did not do pvp before this or did not fully complete the ranks. Think the big thing before 3.0 was the zodiac or w.e level it was on at the time. It had multiple bars for people to jump to get the final item the finish line all the time work everything. What they did was 1 patch atma would be more easy or something to that degree. There are still hurdles you need to jump to get this done the atma the books then the alexander then light so on forth. They did not rip that all out saying, alright guys once you collect 12 atma BAM you got zodiac its done!

NOW NOW NOW tell me if you read most of these post that most the pvper do not mind a nerf. This was no normal MMO nerf we all come to expect being repeat players they tore down everything you had to do. (((((((And for the people saying you still have to get the wolf marks, wolf marks are nothing they have never been an issue to get from the start)))))). The ranks were EVERYTHING the ONLY thing keeping anyone from that gear. I would not care if they lowered it if say 30 cause 20 is where it gets somewhat hard. But for the people that did do mad time in pvp for that gear and when they say I played MONTHS they mean months. Coil that is for most a 2 to 3 times a week thing few hours of practice.

I did a full 1 month nothing but frontline to get near 40 not mixed in with other things in game NO I mean only pvp that is it. I maxed my weekly tomes and more off it I had to do it so much. I looked from the view of non pve people we get nerfed to so on. It is not that we got nerfed its HOW MUCH it got nerfed. It went from months of work to a day of work. They did not do that with coil they added 5% 5% 5% 5%. With pvp they just took it off. And yeah we have some new gear but look at this, we had an exclusive armor for each class besides (sch and summoner) because they are a shared class. How many armors is that? 8 armors...9 when the ninja came out. How many did they give the PVP players this time (((((((((4)))))))))).

The tanks all share the dragoons is the same but colors, same with bard/gunner healers casters and monk/ninja. I do not even count the casters cause they just swapped colors and lets face it anyone that knows even the basics of programming knows its the cheapest method to use on a game armor to change it. Now coil people you got (((((((3 tiers of gear))))) we pvp people have had this same gear since patch 2.1 and the only change was some colors and a few add ons to the armors we already had. I do not know about the rest of the pvp crowd but I been waiting almost ((((((2 years)))))) for a new set of pvp gear to come out, and all this stuff that happen seems like a real disrespect to the pvp community. This is why pvpers are mad this is why we feel like they stomped on this community.

I love this game I feel despite a few things over the 2 years I played I did not like but I could understand why they might have done those said things. But I look at this lack of content the copied gear the bar lifting on the gear rank not even a change for the grand companies and I got to say for once in the entire time I played I am disappointed in squares handling of this. I hope they read these posts and take into consideration the crowd that has also been doing pvp for so long while finding new ways to bring new crowds in. But I do not see this as a well thought out idea at all.

I glamour my PVP sets a lot. I finally got to change GC and keep them. So that's a positive....

I guess we gotta wait until the new rank 50-55 gear comes out to see if there is anything worth getting, either in glamour or in ilvl... At least the rank 55 weapon will glow maybe. But at least the new map is kinda fun, a mix between slaughter and secure.

I don't think the issue is so much with you guys losing your old glamours. But SE not delivering on the new sets.

If the new armor was actually desirable instead of what it is now, you would want it. How about say a good looking set for lvl 60 players starting at rank 20, with a more powerful set at 30, and 45. This way the old PVPers gain an advantage they deserve. Their hard work nets them new gear and a jumpstart on their pvp. While new players can still get their old sets, but with the newer sets being that much more enticing they can continue to do PVP. Also by adding in other bonuses such as truely unique mounts, cosmetic options (warpaint, maybe a hairstyle or two).

BENEFITS:

-shorter que times
-simple to impliment. It would require new armor sets meshed (We're aware this takes time) but these armors must stand out. Perhaps adding effects like the augmented items from 2.4 would help.
-Your PVPers would be much happier.

Don't worry, a lot of people will never put a foot in a PvP map. Since they still need a few dozens of games to get a full set, most of them won't even do that.

... And, of course, the ugliness of some set will still make some players refrain from buying anything.

My static and I farm The Vault of Glass in Destiny on hard. Thats 6 drops a week. Eventually, were lvl 30s with full raid sets, Gallajhorns, etc. Comes the expansion, surprise, vendors sell lvl 30 gear. "Why did we just spend months farming the hardest raid in the game for lvl 30 when you can buy it a month later!?" Fake 30s we called them. "Why run Crotas End then if its going to end up the same way!?" I dont play Destiny anymore because that seems to be the route theyre taking. The same route FFXIV is taking as well. So I refuse to raid with a static every week here playing RNG for the BiS loot that will be handed out on the regular months later. So I wait till the severe nerfs before getting the "cool looking" raid/pvp gear to glamour. And will do so again with the Owl set. Because life is too short strive to be the first player with the new fancy gear, peacocking in Mor Dhona/Shire. So loathe me n despise me, but you either play the game or youre being played by it.

Actually. im Rank 42, i did quite a lot of PvP, and i have no salt over this :3 Cause it doesn't matter.. like... even a little bit.

New to mmos, eh?

I can't say I'm impressed either, like many I put in effort for months to get to the max rank. Now I see a bunch of players flocking at the wolves den pier, when I seen max of 3-6 people at one time for a long ass time. Some of you who are not pass rank 20 don't come in here because you have no idea how much grind it was, I think people have a right to be pissed about this. Of course we can work towards our new ranks now but damn.

Months before the expansion I started grinding PvP rank because I wanted that Bearliege set for my Marauder. It was a horrid grind because PvP queues were long, there was no daily PvP exp reward from roulette, and wolves den was so dead it was impossible to get the challenge log each week for wolves den.

For 2.5 months straight I logged in and PvP'd for 2-2.5 hours. After all that grinding, I only had rank 37 to show for it. Why? Because with only 2 hours a night to play, I could only get 1-3 frontlines in - and I wasted MANY nights trying to get wolves den queues for challenge log and then just abandoning queue after waiting 1+ hours.

I'm really sorry that ya'll feel bad about getting max rank and then feeling gypped, but I honestly feel like I earned that gear even though I'm only rank 37. If the game were actually playable as designed, I could have had double the games I played each night and been able to receive much more of the challenge logs each week and I could have made the rank. A lot of you earned rank when PvP was newer, fresher, and more populated. I spent 2.5 months doing nothing but trying to get that Bearleige glamour. Well, now I have it, and I don't feel bad at all for wearing it pre-rank 45. Even in an MMO - any single thing should be achievable when you work for it for hours every single day for 75 days.

On the bright side I guess you're way ahead of everyone else for the grind to rank 50 and you can glamour that gear to be the cool kids on the block.

Well sounds to me like you kinda got gypped too Geryth. You can rank up into 45+ quickly now at least with better queues, but a sub level 10 player who didn't put in what you did can get enough WM's for that set in a day or so. I'd have been fine with them dropping the rank requirement on existing gear 10 levels or so.

From your post it sounds like you think you're one of the players those of us at rank 45+ are unhappy about suddenly having access to the new gear but that couldn't be further from the truth. It's players who have not put in significant time or effort suddenly having access that we object to.

Hey guys maybe I'm missing something but when I look at the gear it still shows a pvp rank requirement in order to equip (i100 or the animal sets as I've heard them called). Is the tool tip just incorrect or can anyone wear now? Also, how do you unlock the new pvp map? I wanted to give a try yesterday but when asking around in game noone responds

The tooltips were not updated, but the restrictions are in fact lifted. My bearliege set still says it requires PvP ranks in the 40's but I can both equip it and glamour it at rank 37.

You don't have to unlock it if you have secure and slaughter unlocked, and are lvl 60.

PvP is and always has been a slow grind for some cool looking glamour gear. It's not fun. It's not balanced. It's literally horrible. If you think otherwise you are simply fooling yourself.

For anyone that thinks giving FREE gear is fine, then the same should be given from PvE content. Coils/Zodiac/Dungeons, they all were tone down to be EASIER but not free. If in pvp, the requirements for the gear was lowered by 10 ranks, then yeah sure, that would have been fine, if the ranks were lowered by 10 ranks and the exp/marks were boosted, yeah that would have been fine too, but at least make it take more effort than simply running into pvp and derping around for a few matches to get gear. But besides armor, SE should have given other rewards for being at certain ranks. One idea of my was the ability to purchase materia for each 10 ranks in pvp, thus making higher ranks of pvp more desirable. For example, at rank 30 you can purchase tier 3 materia of your choice for around 10k marks.

The i100-i110 gear isnt free. They cost WM. This means players that were put off simply by the idea of grinding to 45 will now have something in their reach. This means MORE players doing pvp. And thats a good thing.

Yes, I understand they cost WM, but those are so EASILY obtainable. How will the queue times be any different from the 30+ min queues from the past after a week when players are "oh, I got my WMs, I can buy my stuff because I JUST NEED WMs, time to dip out from pvp." I also understand that with the ranks no longer there, it makes players want to TRYOUT pvp and maybe they will like it and stay and maybe they wont. Just like almost every new content, players will want to try it out until they get bored of it, and that's where incentive comes in which was the ADS mount and pvp armor but that "incentive" has gotten reduced to almost nothing.

In 2 months I can get a full set of ilvl 200 gear. Why bother getting i180 with 2/3 a years worth of work?

I love this change, should remove ranks altogether! =)

So everyone got there tainted gear and que times are back to an hour. quick let them have the new gear so they can stick around a few more days.

What did you think was going to happen?

If there is no incentive to play or if the incentive is perceived (whether accurately or not) to be too much trouble for the reward no one will go for it.

There should be

1) A reduction (note not elimination) in the amount of ranks and the time to get to top rank

2) A more evenly spread out reward system so you arent going through a bunch of rank ups without getting anything....hell even now its takes 4 rank ups to get 4 SP to spend on a skill....thats not fun

It's not like hitting rank 45 was really hard anyways boo hoo you sat in a q for 40+ minutes just to get your pvp gear I might actually feel bad if you lost exp from loses but that never mattered you just had to go in and mash buttons for all it mattered.
you want pvp waits to go down? You need to get people in with an easy to reach goal and try to hook them. Sad fact is if this gear requirement wasn't lifted seize would have flopped minus those joining for the roulette bonus. (Which is what most people are doing anyways) and your 40+ minute wait times wouldn't have changed at all. Be happy you can actually get into a match in 10 minutes for once. Beside go in with a premade and rip the nubs apart for awhile and idk enjoy the game

Because they eliminated the rank requirement on the i110 gear (esp the weapons which really burns me) people are now saying 'Ok NOW what do I get???' as if 45 GD ranks' worth of rewards didn't just become available on a silver platter. They should have lowered the ranks required for it instead so people would still earn glamour rewards on the way to 45, but at earlier ranks, so they'd appreciate it.

Animal gear is no longer special and instead of spreading that 90 year old man attitude (you don\\'t know what we went through to have what you have now)encourage those new to keep going so you know pvp isn\\'t such a toxic dump of negativity.

It's pretty clear everyone who is for this change are the folks who will benefit from it, not those who were interested in PvP to begin with. They'll get gear they don't deserve and make me a wish a /spit emote was in game, ruin our games, then bail in like two weeks. We're already sitting on 30 minute queues again.

The anger is directed at SE for allowing this to happen.

Sure as you put it all we have done is "wait in q for 40mins" but based on that, isn't all pve just practising rotation, then learning a script for a fight?

Before the rank removal the only people that pvp'd were ones wanting to do so plus the odd light farmer.

There has always been enough pvp players to keep q's popping however SE's stubbornness with GC restriction has made it into what it is today and to top it off our "unique" armor can be rewarded for being sat there AFK.

Let me jump into T13 and afk?

I'm not a genius but I'm pretty sure they made this change because 1) the gear is level 50 and 2) they wanted players to try pvp, get some level 50 glamours, get hooked, and breathe life into the ques.

I'm confused. I'm standing in the Wolves Den -- looking at the i100/i110 gear via vendor. The rank restriction is still in the description for all these items. Am I missing something?

It's a bug or something -- though some folks have suggested it means you can only get the effect of morale or whatever off the item if you're the right rank.

I do not see what do you mean by that "eliminate the rank require for i-level 110" ? I just went to check woft shop now. they still says that you need to be more than rank 42-45 to equip them in the item description!

Seize is totally balanced. I never know which GC is going to win, coming from slaughter where Flames would win 95% of the time. Its not a grind if you enjoy it either, gear and mounts are a perk.
