I assume this is NA only since I received no email with the EU store for they physical collector's edition.

I think it's probably best to state which zone your heavensward is, and also whether it's physical or digital. Since I think the eu version said something like charging 10 day before release/early access while other version hasn't stated it?

So maybe those who already got charged might have na version, while eu isn't charged yet...I dunno.

Mine was off the NA store, physical PC CE, paid with my debit card.

NA Physical CE, paypal

These situations are the only real advantage that a credit card has.

Anyway, I suspect they gave a charge warning so far in advance because they're going to need to pay the distributors and decided, for whatever reason, to use pre-order charges rather than eat the cost up front and pay it back later.

Understand what they mean by preparation? It's not like 3 days before release they will go ok let's see which people can actually pay and charge them now, they are preparing early. For all we know the orders could be shipped as soon as next week and arrive a few days before release so that people who did order online don't have that awkward period of waiting for their box copy to arrive.

This doesn't change the fact that they said something different when pre-orders were first made. The email you quoted was sent later, just last week on May 27th. Also, according to pre-order information "*On or Near Release Date Delivery. While we try our best to schedule delivery to arrive on the release date, actual delivery date may vary depending on your location and method of shipping. Orders received after June 14th, 2015 11:59pm PST will arrive after the Release Day." Note it says on or near release date and not early access date. So we are not even talking about June 19th, early access, but the actual release on the 23rd. Also, the purposed of this being placed is that people don't freak out if they don't receive their physical copy by release date and isn't really talking about an early delivery. If you bumped up your shipping from standard you may see the game before the release date but chances are it'll arrive on or a bit after. Standard shipping is 2-5 days so likely they'd be shipping around the 18th to purchasers, which means charging should be taking place around the 14th or 15th and not 2 weeks earlier.

If they are doing preparation that is fine, but if it actually takes money out of people's accounts or cancels orders before at most 2 weeks before release then they really needed to explain the process better for how they will deal with pre-ordering and charging people's accounts. The wording on the pre-order at least by me read shipping to your home not to whatever warehouse they are storing the games until later shipping.

Because it is a pre-order. Why do people use credit cards if they know they don't have the money for something or other forms of credit or reservation? Because they know they will have it when the time comes to actually pay the bill.

Considering you have no knowledge of people's financial situations, budgets, or savings I find it quite comical that you feel like you can make such a statement. Who says me and others weren't saving for it? People are complaining because this was announced to take place much earlier than the information they were given on pre-order would have them believe. If more accurate information was given, I for instance, might not have even made the pre-order until later or shuffled some of my budget around to accommodate. But since they gave what a lot of us believe is misleading information I no longer have as many options available to me. That is what people are upset about. Not everyone has up to $130 extra to spend on 5 days notice. People have other responsibilities/commitments outside a leisure activity that come first.

my pay pal has not been charged yet either D= -panics-

I use PayPal alot and from what I've seen the charges don't show up until days later. I paid an item last Thursday and it just today showed the charge.

No, they should normally show up right away. I do a lot of eBay selling and whenever I pay for the shipping, I get an e-mail notifying me that my Paypal account has been charged within minutes, even on the weekend.

I remember getting the email (I think I deleted it cuz I can't find it), letting me know I would be charged on the 1st, but nothing has been taken out right now. :o

Interesting maybe the type of billing? I use my paypal to pay some bills, buy things that are made easier with PayPal(heavensward) and I don't get billed right away. At least certain things I don't. I'll update this when I see it taken out of my paypal though.

Same here, it's 3:30 EST here and I haven't been charged on my account for my Physical CE preorder yet.

I think he means your actual bank. If you have a bank account connected (like mine) it'll take around 1-3 days to actually show in your bank instead of immediately funds being taken out.
If you use PayPal on Friday, funds will be transferred the following business day, which is Monday.


So technically anyone who used PayPal probably will have an extra day to get to the bank.

For all who didn't get charged yet, relax. They said they will "begin" charging preorders, not just yours specifically. Probably doing Credit/Debit cards the PayPal.

They haven't charged me for it yet.

I preordered a copy right when ti was available and I entered the Codes they gave me but I still havent been charged or received any emails since the code was sent. I'm hoping when the time comes that it directs me to complete the PayPal Purchase because the card I initially ordered it under was lost and replaced and I would prefer to have ti come off the Credit card for a purchase this big instead of the bank account. Problem is I cant delete my old card because it says there are outstanding charges and this is the only thing I would have pending. I have the new card on there, I just need to choose it when they charge me.

I know there are still a couple weeks before anything would even ship, so I'm not worried. i only wanted to see if anyone out there had any input on this. I was told to select the CC as a default, but with this new PayPal site design, I cant seem to find the option.

Yeah, I would imagine that it has to do with how the billing system is set up on the billing company's end. eBay obviously has it set up to debit your account right away, because if I check my account right after I paid, it will show that it took out the money already. Other companies might do it differently, but Paypal itself can kick in the charges whenever, not just on business days.

Ah, yeah, that makes sense. I was thinking in terms of a Paypal account balance, since I always keep money in there specifically for things like online purchases (due to my eBay selling and the need to purchase shipping for items).

I haven't really followed this thread that much, but is this different for NA and EU players or something?

I haven't gotten any email about paying yet, which was said... And they have been pretty clear that they would charge 10 days before release. Now I don't know if that was for EU only though...

EDIT: And my account obviously haven't been charged yet either(I can see if it's about to be charged too)

The people who preorderd and have been charged, Where did they order from? I ordered from the SE online store themselves and I still havent received an email or been charged.

That is a reminder for your subscription. That is also how mine shows up when it is near time for me to pay it again. Also with my confirmation email about my preorder being billed the 1st of June it also sead if funds are not there the order whould be cancelled.

I just want them to charge me so I can stop worrying about it.

Same. I received the email saying I would be charged today, June 1st, and yet it is now 7 pm here and I still haven't been charged. I have the money in my account but if they tell me they are going to charge me today then do it. Don't leave me hanging wondering when it's going to go through. I just want it done and paid for so i don't have to worry about it. Pretty unprofessional. Though i supposed they still technically have 5 hours left but the business day is over with already.

I never got the e-mail about my account being charged on the first, nor have I actually been charged. I'm starting to worry about this. If I miss out on the pre-order bonuses, I'll be pretty upset.

Every digital DL preorder I've done I paid for upfront.

If I was getting it in stores I had the option for a deposit and payment at pickup.

Why would it be different here?

Amazon's standard way of handling any and all preorders is to charge when the item ships and not a moment sooner.

The e-mail I received stated that they would begin charging on the 1st. There was no indication that it would be completed in 1 day. The SE store still shows my order pending. Give it a couple of days. I have a feeling that they are going in order of shipping time. Ground goes first, 2 day air 2nd so on; so forth.

Valnen....unfortunately we are not dealing with Amazon but with a company hired by SE. I have no idea how reputable they are. If it's anything like Digital River I am not too impressed.

I understand that, I'm just saying why some people's expectations might be different. Also, mine hasn't been charged yet either and I picked the 5-10 day shipping. So I suspect the system is just going to be slowly processing the orders over the next few days.

I pre-ordered my PS4 Physical Collector's Edition on the day it went live...(yes it took forever). I wish they would just charge at that time and not wait personally. You will be fine not matter what but it did say if the payment does not go through that they would cancel the order. Unless you want a physical and they run out you can always just order the digital collectors and get everything except the dragon, book and blue ray. So you will not really miss out on anything at all. They should though ship it no matter what so that it reaches you in time for launch...that sucks that some of had to pay a bunch to get it here faster.

I heard though we have with pre-order code that it will last us like until end of june until we have to register heavensward giving time for physical stuff to ship o.O
