-When you start to believe ostrich's are just black chocobos, and that their normal call is "wark wark!"

This is something from both XI and XIV, but I'll often look at the items and methods used to create something in-game, and try to figure out how it's done. As a result, I've studied smithing, wire production, how to make chainmail, found out the mercury in the eissenplate set from XI is likely used with the silver to make an amalgam for the ornamentation, and other such random useless facts.

-When you stand infront of an empty counter at a shop expecting a vendor to magically spawn infront of it.

Urthdigger, Have you ever been in a blacksmithing club? I was in one for a while, But I only go to the yearly conventions now.

Sounds like it'd be a ton of fun, but as a full time student I don't think I'd really have the time, or money, to do actual blacksmithing.
