Because letting us get the scoop on patch notes early is a good thing.
(release date is August 8th, BTW)

yeah seriously, MP is fine the way it is, No mage on my server has complained about this, stop crying.
I'm glad to see the home point thing, will be convenient.
I'm sure the Elezen /pose will be retarded like the rest of their emotes though ;c
Ya i saw the updated date announcement.
Still, dosent makes sense relasing patch notes with no date.
And 10min later realese the date in another announcement.
Note:
All those in defense of bla bla bla... MP is fine... maybe you should actually go level a MAGE job that actually has MP, and try for yourselves before bashing people that want some proper mana consumption.
or please...hide your character signature better fools.
lol ofc it is mr Archer r21
dont blame a mage for idiots in your pt rushing into a fight halfassed, wasting the healers time healing that moron.
NO, if anything this game is players / mages that stay out of range & dont go
on a freakin melee rampage. (Sadly ive been partying alot with ppl with that)
ethers?....lol are you really REALLY serious, dont you think i know what those "tools" (skills) are used for?
First of, find anything in here about me Complianing about mp consumption... no i have a problem with how players play, mages going in for melee / tp gain... serves no purpose... this is whats causing the damn mana consumption, and why mages are running out of mp, cuz people cant freakin play their class properly.
If anything it's you Melee that should spam your own Potions, cure 3's to keep the hate.
Nuuuu.... you want the mage to spame heals so you have something to <bio>tch back about... lol ethers
btw u forgot... Stygian... lol ethers
Then use them. It sounds like you don't even know they exist.
Thanks for editing your post. Anyway then complain to those people who can't play properly. Also if you got a problem about ethers then complain to the Devs about that, not about changing the gameplay. Oh BTW I do keep potions on hand, you never know if you're gonna have a sh**ty mage that doesn't know how to manage their MP correctly nor knows how to use items. ;)Quote:

Did anyone else laugh hysterically when they scrolled down and found the /pose image?
A really nice patch indeed! I wasen't expecting much, but SE surprised me!
But, when is the patch coming lol?
Totally awesome that we can set Homepoint now. Also, fantastic that temporary HP is set while doing leves, behest, and raids. Now i can set my HP in U'ldah and not have to worry about it resetting when I do leves/behest. Good job Dev team!
Side note: For the MP cost folks, here's a macro for you all (just make sure not to move):
/battlemode(/bm) on
/ac "Cure II" <t> or <st>
/wait 1
/bm off
Lalafells need to mate too!

thats your best argument for mana consumption, attacking my "mmo" grammar?
good lord how long have you "Not" played mmo games?
- An issue wherein a player is able to progress in the quest “Polishing the Mast“ without meeting the required conditions.
Well considering your best argument of someone not knowing of how to play the game is dependent upon their ranking, then I think it's a pretty good argument. How do you know that I don't have another character or maybe I created a new character recently? Also I was attacking your grammar in general.
I have to disagree with your suggestion on using ethers. You do realize that it only gives back 50mp, and has a pretty significant "recast" timer on using another one? I agree on using Tranquility and Exhalation, but as they stand now Ethers are a joke. Also going passive to regain MP while watching your party die not only makes you look like a bad healer, it's also a dysfunctional way to play a mage class.
Don't make me sit you two in a corner to hold hands.
Ethers are fine.
Hellz no...get your ass back here i was gonna show of my lil youtube video of me & 2 other friends trio'ing Dodore (um ya thats a HNM as some will call it) before they gimped it.
You wanted to see me playing my job right.... oh well, guess ur not that bold for spoilers...
lolpug23... oh wait... ohnuuuus ur hide your character info.... how sad
So you want them fix mana consumption even though you know they're going to fix the item potency? If they lower the MP on certain skills then increase potency of certain items, then it's gonna be broken again. People are going to use whatever spell they like without repercussions, because they're gonna have low MP costs and "super ethers". It's gonna be how it was before 1.18 came out again.
Patch Aug 8th

Patch notes before the patch goes live. Yes!
Also, DD buffs should help the Darkhold pigeonholing.
Setting home point is a much appreciated feature.
And finally, they're fixing the weird looking water on the ferry. /hurray!
No, idc about the crazy mana cost, i want players that havent played mage & experienced the mana consumption for themselves.
So they dont go rampaging into battles like thye expect healers do stand behind & spam heals like its freakin xmas.
I want players (mostly melee to being able to take care of themselves, have proper skills & spells equipped), and some mages to stand in their damn spot, being ready to heal when needed, not some damn crazed out melee-mage trying to play red mage or some shit like that.
I kinda like the mana consumption challenge, but i dont like players that think "it's all fine", you have auto attack... 1 major drawback for mages when using sleep, when u melee screws it up with ur damn auto-attack. (oh ya not ur fault, it's SE's.)
Thats just one example, then ther's the players that claim they know everything about everything even
thoug they have no visual proof of playing mage , trying it out for themselves, just basing facts upon rumors.
And yet you brought in the biggest FAIl item ever...lolethers, i mightaswell use my own tp skill to gain more mp that way.
