Mojo,
right now I'm just hoping that it's not designed so that the first 500 pp lwho log in get a house and the rest of us are sol (remember when SOL meant shit out of luck) ... LOL
the rest will honestly be icing at this point.

Wonder if they could just work it so there are two types of Personal Housing;
The instance version, which is relatively cheap and locked away in an instance, allowing for nigh-limitless amounts of players to purchase them.
The neighborhood version, which is much the same as FC Housing, but with a greater cost as a result.
They probably should just do that, lets face it, plenty of people are making solo FCs just to do that anyway.
Would like to know if personal housing is even HAPPENING in 2.38, or being delayed again.:(
Spending a lot of time crafting this weekend and using up 90% of my inventory/retainer space for my house.
Could we please just get a community rep or dev or someone in here to tell us what the heck is going on with housing? When FC housing came out, we had information, preview videos, etc coming out months in advance through forum posts and live letters and interviews. With personal housing we have almost nothing.
Should we just wait a little longer because everything will be answered over the weekend? Or will we not know anything until the game goes down and the patch notes are released?
Is it still happening in 2.38? Is it being delayed?
Can I sleep Monday night or do I need to worry about logging in ASAP?
Is personal housing ward based or solo instance based?
Just... any information you could provide would be incredibly helpful and appreciated, whoever from SE might be reading this.
So, I only have 50k Gil to my name. I'm already prepared for the fact that housing won't be anywhere near an option for me. ...Right? Luckily I'm in an FC with a large house, right outside the MB.
And here I was kind of hopeful that we would get some preliminary patch notes today being as though the update is Monday/Tuesday-ish.
That idea likely doesn't run parallel to what they've done before but, eh... Wishful thinking, perhaps.
It'd be nice if Reinha-- er... Grekumah dropped us some kind of tidbit.
I've been a bundle of anxiety just waiting to hear what kind of system personal housing will use. My server is super populated, and all of the FC wards are completely full. If they do personal housing like they do FC housing... well, they'll be full within the first few hours of the server coming up, not unlike the last FC ward they introduced. I would just really like to know, much like everyone else here, what their plans are. We know absolutely nothing about how this is all going to work.
I've been saving up my gil (8.5 million so far) and plan to do more spiritbonding this weekend, and I'm downright serious about calling in sick on Tuesday if that's what it takes to secure a personal house!
It's going to be a mess, like it always is
Still no response? Really? Well this sucks, looks like we have to just wait until Tuesday and hope for the best... I thought we would have had a little tease or something by now -_- as it stands now I'm just expecting disappointment. I hope to be pleasantly surprised when I wake up Tuesday morning and see some patch notes.
I lucked out and got to do my own scheduling at work this week, so I'll be able to log as soon as the game goes live, but I certainly wouldn't object to more info on this subject. I'd mostly like to know about permissions, and if we can give them out to other players as we see fit. For instance, our raid SCH and I will be getting married in-game when 2.4 hits, and we'd prefer to pool our resources and share a house rather than each own one individually. He has over 10 million gil to my 3.5 mil, but no crafts or gatherers leveled (I'm a three-star crafter in almost all specialties), and doesn't know the first thing about gardening, so if it's feasible we'd love to just go in on halfsies on the house and have him fund the gardening/decorating while I actually handle the house layout and upkeep.
As it stands, if it's instanced housing we'll just have to acquire one under my character, most like, which would make actually enjoying the benefits of the house rather inconvenient for him.
Very sad with the lack of information, especially with SE teasing about FC houses months in advance. We were given previews and videos of how it would look and decorating would work, but nothing. I'm becoming very nervous as to even if we'll get personal housing this patch.
I've been thinking the same thing about the delay, considering the silent treatment. My biggest question though aside from friends being able to have permissions is just your account in whole itself, with alternate characters. Since we can't exactly friend ourselves, and so far they've been pretty adamant about no trading (without aid/FC chest) to alts. Might cause another problem if people buy multiple houses for all their characters lol...
Im guessing it'll be similar to FC housing in that if you don't enter within 30 (?) Days you'll lose it.
Exluding amendities like chocobo stable and personal merchants. I think we'll need licenses to build certain things after purchasing the plot.
I just hope the personal housing isn't complicated or have such huge requirements to getting one. I'd love for everyone to own their own personal home with their own set of rules that they can apply; like which players can enter, which player can feed or garden and such; having the option to open to public or close to the public/all. Also without having some sort of FC rank or any restriction.
I hope it isn't stupidly expensive like over the 5-10 mils, I hope the pricing is reasonable and cheap, and hope the personal housing aspect is creative.
/Sigh
I'm a little disappointed in the lack of information prior to implementation since it is possible these houses will be a lot of money (relative to who you talk to). Since the main reason I want a personal house is more garden space, I want one that'd give me the most (aka large if we even get different sizes) and we don't have a solid idea of the cost.
So I'm saving up as much as I can but that is holding me back in other areas like crafting since I still need to meld and get closer to 3star crafting.
tl;dr- Lack of info is stalling my progress
This. I'm holding off max melds on fisher and a retainer because I haven't had time to SB lately, and I don't wish to spend any money in the mean time. I've also not decortated my private chambers (bought for me as I put pretty much every single bit of gil I had into buying a medium FC house after ward 6 opened up) nor have I been able to do as much with the FC house as I'd have liked because I'm not spending money.
I have done bits and bobs but gathering mats takes time, and working 37hour weeks, coil time, plus stuff outside of the game... I just feel like I've had to hold on to every penny and hope for the best.
As I write this I'm suddenly very aware of how very 1stworldproblems this sounds xD
Seriously though, something would have been nice! Not really happy with the total lack of response on this topic :/
They could go the route that they've been going with a lot of "leisure" content so far.
ie: You can only participate in it if you have a FC with a house.
That's right, no personal house unless your FC owns a house. And the NPC you buy your personal house doesn't want your gil. You must pay in Glazenuts, Jute, and Thav onions.
Not necessarily. Fully instanced housing could still allow you to visit other people's houses, and do anything else there so long as you've been given permissions for it. That's if they set it up that way, of course, which just goes back to the main theme of this thread: Why aren't we hearing how this is set up?
At this point, that might be the best answer we're likely to get. If it were a good, well planned-out system that SE was proud of, we'd have been hearing a lot more details about how it works. And if it comes down to either a crappy half-thought-out and badly implemented system or waiting a bit longer for a more viable one, I might rather wait. (Of course, that assumes it doesn't turn into waiting and then still getting a crappy half-assed system later. That would suck.)
850k to way to damn much i barely have 330k from selling that green slot gems i got from quests i dont even know how ppl have like over 10mill gil without buying from thos RMT bots
They (we) play the game differently.
Duty Roulette, Challenge Log, various Levequests (crafting ones being optimal), Beast Tribe dailies, Treasure Maps, even Fishing if you have any idea what to go for (Leve and Provisioning Mission objectives). The game throws Gil at you if you know where to look, and all that is before you consider serious crafting.
I made 4 million just from spiritbinding. Considering you only have a few hundred k I suggest starting out with binding gathering/crafting gear. You'll get a steadier income. Once you build up a little nest egg, start grabbing DoW gear. It's more of a gamble but you can hit it big. On Balmung one tier 4 Savage Might can go for half a million.
You can always find spiritbind parties in Urth's gift near Quarrymill or ads in the party finder.
Where is our rep post? *cries*
Okay... weird.. Thanks!
And tbh I still refresh the site like 20x a day hoping that they will surprise with a prelim patch list >.>;;;;;;;
(same as I refresh this thread) :/
