WHat new healer spell you want to see in the expansion?

White Mage
-Divine Radiance
-Transforms the next single target spell into an Area of Effect for double the MP cost.
-Reason: AOE regen & Stoneskin enough said.
-Recast: 1:30

Scholar
-Sacrifice
-Removes all the debuffs on a friendly target and transfers them to the Scholar. In addition provides the target you sacrifice with a very potent regen effect.
-Reason: Its a emergency button for when the tank is about to die but you are fine.
-Recast: 1:30

Mighty Guard:

Casts Protect and Stoneskin on the entire party. Instant Cast. Cannot be used in combat.
(pure QoL goodness)

My mains are WHM and SCH so I'm excited about the level cap to 60. Here's a few things I hope get implemented.

WHM:
Esunaga (why is this not already in our repertoire)
Aero III that's Aoe or Tornado
Stone III or Quake
Water II (fluid aura II)
A trait to raise without weakness
A single target holy spell that causes Blind
1.0's Sacred Prism (party wide SS, regens? Yes pls!)
Reraise

SCH:
A new fairy. This fairy would focus on granting single regen to party memebers instead of embrace.
She would also have a physical damage reduction skill to counter Eos magical one.
A trait to increase sacred soil to 15-18 secs
Increase Aetherflow
A veil type party spell that prevents 1 a debuff from effecting the target (poison, paralysis, blind, bleed, amnesia, confusion) this wouldn't work on mechanic debuffs (doom, etc)
A skill that makes the next healing spell always crit (like life surge but for healing). It can have a 60 or 90 sec cool down.

I know some of this sounds broken as hell but a boy can dream can't he. :cool:

For SCH I would like Selene to get something that gives a "drain" effect to members, to help counter the aoe regen that Eos gives. As for the actual SCH, I wouldn't mind a buff to Soil, last longer or add in an elemental resistance buff.

White Mage, I wouldn't mind some nukes, but I would love to see a divine caress, give trials like primals elemental related debuffs that can be esuna with a % that they'll gain a resistance to that debuff or element for a period of time.

I want to see more effects to do with the fairy for one.

So like Enkindle but SCH version. Eos could provide a powerful shield a la Sacred Soil style to its vicinity (so control is required) and Selene could give a damage buff.

I have raised too many healers not in my party during S mark hunting... ^^;

I feel that the expansion should widen the (already nice) gap between WHM and SCH, so:

WHM:

AoE Esuna is a pretty solid "WHM-y" spell. I'd be worried about it trivializing certain encounters, though. Maybe have a small AoE, like Cure III has, but still.

Regen II, because we're the Regen class, but I'm not sure how it would differ from Regen, other than being more powerful. That's not great, as has already been brought up. Also adding AoE would basically make it a worse Medica II. (Or better, as would probably be the case)

AoE Stoneskin (out of combat) should come before the expansion, haha, and we shouldn't get a new spell or trait for it, unless we simply get it added on to all of the other spells/traits we get. AoE Stoneskin in combat sounds more SCH to me, to be honest.

Improved Shroud, to go with our increasing MP pool. Doubles the potency or something, I'm fine with it still being a flat rate. MP struggle is part of our battle.

At least one totally new spell. En[fire, etc], maybe, or spikes. The elemental nature of it makes it sound more like WHM than SCH, even though SCH seems to be more concerned with buffs and debuffs.

DPS wise, Stone III. Stone is the CNJ spell, besides Cure. A mid-power AoE for when we don't want to Holy ourselves dry.

Also, something Water that isn't Fluid Aura. It's the least-represented element we have.


SCH:

Playing around with statuses. Moving debuffs and buffs around. (If they don't introduce a class for this, a la Green Mage)

New fairy with Sacred Soil and related moves.

Crit-buffing ability.

Galvanize (AoE or single target) that doesn't heal, but has double shield strength.

I'm enjoying that Healer Bane idea that was mentioned. It would especially anchor the great synergy that WHM/SCH parties have. I love working with my SCH partners.

i recentely switched from smn to sch and i find it very funny.

since in the game description and in all F game series the scholar its a "strategist of the battlefield" i would like to see more AOE skills like sacred soil. i would like to see a trait for sacred soil that enanches its duration. sch can control the battlefield to support an help the allies so aoe spells would be great. hmm and a new fairy and i read on the forums ppl want a tan fairy but y lol. it would be cool for a VERY support buffing fairy. idk skills but verybuff oriented and pls add a sort of "enkindle" for faeries too.

Srsly tho, for sch some more sacred-soil style skills would be great. Or maybe further strengthen its dmg reduction effect, but has some downside like slow party member's movement speed in it..
I don't like the idea of enhanced succor, or adlo. If ur LF a burst healing boost, its already there called Fey Illumination. If ur asking for a long-term potency boost, I think it either breaks the balance between sch and whm, or make sch more like whm and lose its uniqueness. More important, its utterly BORINGGG.

Straight-up healing boosts aren't exactly needed at this point; the comparative redundancy of Eos at end-game pretty much proves that. New heals that add utility by granting extra benefits or by further freeing up the caster are welcome, though.

At the very least I'm hoping for a new fairy offering a slightly different play strategy and being at least as viable for end-game as Selene, but not as boring as alternating the same two buffs like clockwork.

Along with the hope they make stuff harder to heal, introduce some status effects like zombie which are non-removable to force more controlled healing, and introduce skills like reflect (we know it is possible from hellsclaw) which last 5 secs or so. Just make it so healers support and keep the party alive by other means than just pumping them with health.

AOE Aetherflow spender heal for Scholars.

this would be a great idea. and anyway juet telling if SE is reading schcooldown timers r thr best. not too much long and not too much short. plsdnt touch them.

I don't know if someone already mentioned this, but I want to see scholars summon Helios.

They got Selene the goddess of the moon, Eos the goddess of the dawn in the game already. Their names are based off Greek mythology, so I'm assuming Helios is gonna come sooner or later.

Wtf kind of fairy he's gonna be, or wtf he'll do I have no clue, but we need to complete the package! =P

Not sure what else i'd add to WHM it has a lot of things covered. Maybe another damage mitigation spell or a spell or a mana regain spell preferably a DoT you can use to damage an enemy while regaining mana from it for a set duration. Party wide stoneskin would save a lot of mana issues. Maybe another emergency spell like Benediction with a long CD that removes all debuffs from party members. Maybe a water spell too something with a debuff effect would be nice. Haste buff spell?

There are possibilities anyway to add to the class.

Can't really speak for Scholars but for WHM I'd like to see any or all of:

- Some sort of reraise spell or ability, whether self targeting or casted on a party member.
- A buff that auto-heals a player if their HP falls to low (may be more suited to SCH though)
- A trait that extends the duration of Aero spells.
- AoE status effect removal.

some sort of a hard CC for Scholar please. Something that lets me control the amount of trash adds that my tank faces on the run from one boss to another.

I'd be really interested to see something like a debuff you place on the enemy which causes all damage to the enemy to be returned to the person dealing damage as health. For someone like SCH that would really help with AOE healing without being too broken if the buff only lasted 10-15 seconds.

Additionally, perhaps more battlefield-shaping abilities for SCH such as creating 'repel' zones on the ground that bounce enemies away/out of them until they fade, or movable 'channelled' walls allowing them to direct enemies a certain way/stop projectiles, etc.

Swiftcast-->Shadow Flare is kind of the norm for dungeon pulls, already. I also wouldn't really call it CC since the refresh debuff it inflicts is so miniscule as to be unnoticeable except perhaps by calculating numbers over a very long duration.

IMO let AoE CC continue to be one of the trademarks of the WHM. I like that they have that little extra to contribute to trash pulls since SCH excels at sustained DPS and simultaneous tank shielding instead.

Hm. Maybe a trait that allows Raise to be cast on targets before they die? We'll finally have Auto-Raise.

I think I would like some different things from whm and scholar. Don't get me wrong, the basic aoe stoneskin would be wonderful, would would an esuna that was aoe. However, why not take this into a different path? How about getting a buff we can cast that allows for...say 30 seconds, for 10% of damage dealt to a mob be returned to the one with the buff as healing? sort of mix it up. We don't need an aoe regen, we already have that in medica II. We don't need a more powerful cure like cure IV, your skills power up as you get more stat boosts. Cure will always be viable and so will cure II, I don't see those needing more of an oomph to them. A trait that allows stoneskin to be aoe outside of battle would be nice, inside battle that's too easy to abuse. Haste would be nice as well, instead of doing anything crazy, just have it up the auto attack of the target a bit, nothing game breaking, just another nice buff. I seriously don't think whm needs any more damage skills, people push us to DPS enough as it is, we don't need another skill to confuse newcomers to the class and let people die while the healer is in cleric stance because people can't let healers heal first and dps when they are ready or comfortable with it. Another option is to provide a regen like tick for your mp that's greater than shroud, shroud is pathetic at the moment, the enmity drop is nice, but it's just not good enough.
For scholar, I think having a second shield type would be nice. adding a spell or skill that is a single target that, for instance, prevents a status ailment would be a nice addition. Maybe a separate skill for magic damage mitigation, while they have protect in cross classing, perhaps they can get a huge magic defense bonus.

I like both SCH and WHM as they are, but can we PLEASE get some Choco Esuna up in this piece?

i want a cooldown that increases the range of my healing spells

some things im missing on WHM:
- esuna II to remove 2 debuffs at once
- some kind of "aoe esuna" (not really fun dispeling 8 ppl one after another), dont care if it has high mp cost and/or cd but would be nice for emergencies
- a decent way to get mp back, especially when being solo since aero(II) and stone(II) burns mp way faster then we get it back from that stupid 2min cd skill
- you guessed it: aoe stoneskin

I saw some nice ideas in this topic but imo some of them need some tunning to be viable in-game; I'll list a few.

Auto-Raise: I can see this in game but not as most people would like to. A skill with no cast time and long cooldown (~3 minutes) that places a buff with a short duration(3~5 seconds) that auto-raises the target if he dies during the duration. Yes, a poor man's Benediction.

AoE Esuna: The only places where I see this being usefull are Mog EX and Savage Turn 7 (Most likely i'm forgetting some other things) but in both cases it would be OP as hell. IMO this would only be viable if it had a hugeass cast time (~4 seconds), forcing you to time it perfectly.

AoE Stoneskin: Only outside of combat, just as a quility of life thing. In combat it would be way too strong to deal with raidwide damage such as turn 9 megaflare

CD to increase healing range: I actually like this one a lot. Just a little more utility, nothing too strong.

Mainly though, I would like to just see more interesting traits or cool down abilities. Add a trait for Medica2 to apply a 5% stoneskin

stoneskin has 30min duration, which is why every (good) whitemage applies it to the whole group at the start of an instance and keeps it up as good as possible since it helps very much to prevent some random dmg to your group so you dont have to heal them on every single mistake one person makes. it also kind of increases max-hp permanent by 18% which helps migrating strong attacks.
thats why we keep this skill up as good as possible on the whole group, BUT with 3s casttime it takes forever to buff your party at key points (begin of instance, before/after bosses, ...), especially in an full party. and please tell me which random group waits that ~30 sec it takes to apply stoneskin to all before running streight at the boss.. right, nobody!
even the developers already gave in and said there will be some kind of aoe version, but most likely only outfight

Casting it mid-fight has the same effect as Galvanize (actually less so, since 18% of most people's HP is still less than what a well-geared Succor can do even without a crit), because any time you'd want the AOE, it's likely to be lost quickly to group-wide damage.

To be fair, Stoneskin from WHM will exceed Succor's galvanize effect. A 5100 HP target will receive 918 bonus HP, which exceeds even a crit Succor outside of situations where healing is buffed.

In any case, WHMs aren't asking for AoE Stoneskin for this reason; it's more because it's tedious to apply it one-by-one to each party member at the start of a fight.

Reading this thread answered a question I had myself about the new healer in the expansion.

I was thinking that with how most endgame fights have mechanics based on damage mitigations (Nael Flare, T8 allagan field, t10 Prey,),

How would Squex make a third healer interesting enough to take it insitead of say a whm or a sch?

One mechanic suggested in this thread made me think of an option: an healer whose main role is to increase overall raid hps with an added regen effect. Or a single hit mitigation spell. (doesnt absorb damage in the way succor does, but absorb the next hit received)

A Battle Chemist might be suitable for those kind of skills.

What could make a chemist interesting is also having all instant cast spells (like being a skill based class instead of caster while still being based on mind).

I just hope they wont make a different healing set only for chemist.

important is the "that does not exceed your own max HP" part, so it can not stop onehit skills since it does not work for dmg that is above the casters HP which will (one)hit the group anyway even within the shield
a bit like succor shield but with high cd and mp cost as well as low range
could be quite useful in critical situations when you know an aoe is coming (or even several quick after another). also for easier trash mob handling ;)

Was saving these for mage tank idea i was building but saw this thread thought a few would work here with tweaks.

SCH
Prosperity: A slightly stronger AoE heal but does not galvanize instead has the following added effects
--Temper: Doubles the effectiveness of active positive status effects bestowed by caster (e.g. galvanize shield, stoneskin...etc) of affected party member, duration extension/reset (or +% chance of duration extension/reset).
Boon: Bane for positive status effects to sum it up.
Conversion: Converts 50% of 100% of targets remaining MP into TP (i.e. drains all MP and replenishes half that amount as TP)

Third fairy(possibly broken/op so don't take it too seriously)

: 200 potency heal with equivalent shield stack able with aldo/succor galvanize (give this to Eos, this one can have The basic Embrace)

Fey Link : Fairy receives 20% of damage received by target party member instead
Growth : Temporarily doubles effectiveness of fairy abilities

WHM
Lifeward: if target party member's hp falls below x% ward activates instantly restoring 100%hp (or %hp that doesn't make it OP)
Wellspring: % of incoming damage dealt to mana instead
Reflect: reflects 1 instance of all magic damage back to source
Bless: Neutralizes and renders target immune to all negative status effects for a duration
Crown of Thorns: All spells can be cast without the use of MP, MP cost is deducted from HP instead and user receives reduced healing.

Additonals spells and abilities i'd like to see but fall into Blue Mage territory not healer territory but would work as cross class-ables

HP/MP switch - self explanatory

Overdrive(stance) - increases spell potency, drains mp while active (trait: further increases spell potency and increase mp cost)
Restore: x second buff that when it expires returns HP/MP/TP values to what they were when buff was applied

How about a "Consecrate" type spell that creates a patch of ground with HoT? Not sure whether that's better suited for WHM or SCH, tbh...
