For anyone who didn't understand this right, this 2 person Chocobo is not only for you and your referred friend, ANYONE else can ride on it with you, they just have to be in your party.

S-E being typically late to the party and milking players for rl cash when Blizzard were selling mounts you could carry two friends, or two vendors, on back in 2008.

At this point, it would actually be BETTER if SE flat out sold them, rather than screwing old players who already recruited their friends long ago over like this.

Before:
You ask a friend to play with you -> friend buy the game

Now:
You ask a friend to play with you -> you send him an email with the new function on mooglebox to give him a friendcode for free -> friend buy the game and use the friendcode -> no extra cash involved

You also only get the new Chocobo if the friend like the game after the 30 days free time enough to pay for 90 days

Apparently the mount is more important than having had your friends play with you all this time. Be sure to let them know that!

I don't think I've seen a picture with a Roe or a Lala at the helm, but I'm assuming it wouldn't scale anyway (Found an Elezen, doesn't look like it scaled at all). Too bad, It would look ridiculous and be worth it just for that.

Can you do "Add New Service Account" and use the code or does it have to be a whole new MoogleStation/SE account? I'd like to link the new account/service to my husband's account since he has an SE token but not sure if the code will work with him already having a 14 account.

doing that would probably get you the choco, but for your husband his bird would be on an account that has no characters no nothing on it, an there is no way to combine service accounts, i have 3 on my account that have been there forever an dont have anything on them, you cant even delete them

I've already invited all my friends who would have played the game (9 of them) so I guess I dont deserve to get any reward.

Apologies if you were sincere. It did not look that way and I jumped the gun because I've been pretty excited to see pictures of the new mount roll in since it was released and thought it would be a shame if people stopped now.

I really hope there's another way to get a 2man mount, otherwise many people who already invited their friends just got completely screwed.

tl;dr

They never said that this was the only dual mount being introduced.

With that in mind, I am still a little frustrated that this rewards program was released so late, because I've gotten three separate people to start playing in the last few months that are still subbed.

I'm a bit confused, but does the friend have to be on a new account? Or can it be a currently inactive friend who wants to play again?

EDIT: I'm asking because it says 'In order to receive bonus items, your friend must register for FINAL FANTASY XIV using the recruitment code generated by your service account'

But a guy from reddit said he used his alt account that was never subbed (only the free 30 days)

As far as I'm aware it had to be a new account. At least the way they worded it. >.> but if what the person on reddit said was true then does that mean anyone who doesn't have an active account at the moment can put in that code and resub for 90 days? Hmmm... be nice to have a mod confirm this.

My only beef is, I think they should start making events for these things and not because of some sort of payment...or at the very least,add to the subscribers rewards...
I am honestly a little sick of these real money crap...make more FUN events in this game once in a while and let us have really neat things like this.

Not even upset about the chocobo, as I teleport just about everywhere or don't move at all these days and wait for DF...But I do like the circlet.

Maybe as a 2% drop from random FATEs if you do them with someone in you friendlist in your party (he need to be in your friendlist since 30 days).

Sucks for me. ALL of my friends already play FF14. lol. Looks like I'll have to buy another account if this is going to be the only duel mount released for sometime. If they don't come out with marriage ill be very disappointed. I was hoping for some kind of perk that goes along with marriage.

What I don't understand is why SE doesn't limit mounts/minions to solely in game activities. First it was the fanfest exclusive, now its RAF. Its obvious from the feedback that there are players out there who are collectors and it feels kind of unfair to make them go to such great lengths to get it. IMO they should just integrate them into the game. For example. if you run a dungeon 200 times with the same person, you will get the mount? This also helps to build friendship and community. It' a subscription game after all.

Because they are mounts and minions and therefore do not affect gameplay, then they are free to have events/giveaways/programs where you can "earn" them. It's perfectly logical and in no way is anybody entitled to any of this simply for paying your monthly subscription.

I'm not even a mount collector myself but believe it or not, there are some people who do play the game just for that. And it's not entirely "entitled" when you still have to run dungeons X number of times like the Pld/War mount.

Pro Tip: SE is running a business and businesses are always looking to bring in more money. This mount will probably get them an additional $10,000,000 for the next few months.
