not sure there is two new zodiac quests
*Celestial Radiance*
then
Star Light, Star Bright
Players must first complete the quest "Celestial Radiance."
so the first part could be stats second could damage/defense for shields.

I would say the first is the learning of Alexandrite (gathering etc), second is the scroll, and applying it.
Hmm. I wonder how will some players react after getting sands weapon and now novus might outweigh sol weapon.
Weren't they implementing the desynth thing?
I don't see why sands/oils can't be obtained through that?
I hope this means Materia is being used. I don't feel so stupid now buying ~30 ea of all the Mateira IV on server for 5-10k ea now.
In fact it is already known long ago. When the quest line came out it is already said that the weapon, in its final form will allow players to customize its secondary stat.
There shouldn't be a complain thou.
While I do wish that I could desynch my Rosenbogen to recover the sands, but I did enjoy my pretty bow for as long as it last.
Edit: A quick summary of data mined info:
Quest starts at Jalzahn, you have to go talk to the materia people in Central Thanalan. You have to buy 3 Superior Enchanted Inks from Rowena for Allagan Tomestones of Mythology to obtain your Sphere Scroll. Sphere Scroll has to melded to the stats you want on your Relic Novus, up to 75 secondary points in total have to melded before you can obtain your novus. To meld to the sphere scroll you need to get Alexandrite, which can be obtained from
1) Allagan Tomestones of Mythology, buying Mysterious Maps from Rowena and completing them gives Alexandrite
2) Completing FATEs with Animus Equipped
Sphere Scroll melds CAN fail, they start with 100% success rate but will drop as you meld more materia. Once you have melded all the stats you can hand over Animus and Scroll to obtain your Novus.
I just wonder now what the % will be. Melding Materia on gear % turns horrid fast.
So you are basically forced to use high level materia, because the success chance lowers the more you use? Unless the chance will always be higher for lower level ones...
Get myth, get more myth, do fates. Sounds about right
oh boy. That means you can't just use tier IV's if you have a low chance of success when you're almost at 75.
Don't get me wrong I'm just observing. The relic progression quest has never interested me so I don't have a horse in this race.
Good thing I have 2000 myth saved up, (and 2000 philo lol).
Gonna be amusing how big of a gil sink this'll turn out to be. Atleast on Jenova where IVs were at first ~5-10k now with ppl using them on crafting jumped up to ~20-30k ea. Whereas our IIIs like battledance were already in the 200k's
Jenova prices sounds envious, iv prices can creep up to 100k for all relevant types on tonberry. If there is rng in the melds I hope the early novus chasers are loaded with gil.
Also it's not a gil sink, the gil is going to someone's pockets likely SB botters lol.
IV Materias up to over 600k already on Odin. You've got it good on Jenova!
Just bought a bunch of determination and critical hit rate materia. I'm ready.
Anybody knows yet whether you can RAISE secondary stats or can they only be replaced? I would like to keep the Spell speed on my Animus staff and only increase it. DET will go away, not sure if I replace it with ACC or Crit chance yet.
If what you say is true Then SE flat out lied to us, and postponed the update for no reason at all whatsoever(it's obvious that they added 0 ways since fates where already their plan and buying it with myth does not take a month to code) They told us point blank in the live letter that myth could be used to supplement and help acquire the items, but that it would in no way be required for the quest. first quest need 3x a myth item....
Again SE did not think this through the forums, their bug reports are riddled with complaints. No one likes fate grinding, even the people who finished the atma quest hate it and think it's bad design, and they reuse it? I guess they are reusing it so that people are actually out doing fates again, this was a very very very bad/poor choice.
People don't need gil to get materia (only to get them faster)
People also don't need gil for gear to spiritbound them, they can get gears from lv40+ leves
Need 1500 Myth right away in the quest (more after that ?), then we need materia, only we don't know what materia works, and how many.... With the prices, I won't be able to afford it. This turning out to be quite a kick in the balls...
Any materia will work. But lower grade will require more alexandrite.
To make novus, you need to meld 75 stats from materia
We know how materia work it's is a worse rng then atma, ontop of that all this system does is incourage players to buy gil, and spend monmey on gil sellers. We all see the bots endlessly spiritbonding all day this whole quest is just raising both in game money and real life money for the gil sellers. It to me feels like SE got paid on the side by gil sellers.
can u put +75 of one stat? like 75crit?
Saw questions about whether weapon damage would increase for Novus, not sure if already answered, but confirmed via lodestone item DB:

Damn o.O Did RMT use the money they earmed from n00bz buying t5 to bribe SE?
So why did they delay this again...?
