The question was point blank raised about the amount of gil being required in the early video. The response then was to not worry too much about the pricing and that it would more than likely be lower than what was shown in the demo.

I wonder if it'll be based on server just like FC housing.

Could you please provide a source for that? All I remember is that the only answer they would give is that they were monitoring the economy, and would base the prices on that. I don't remember anything being said about the price in the video.

Would be great if it's that cheap.

I'm expecting them to be around 1 mil when it's all said and done, with the cheapest at or around that. I think that would be reasonable as much as I hope they stick to the 850k range.

Who's sticking to 850k? They never started at 850k.

Well, no, it has little to do with server bandwidth. It's funny to me that they're going to allow people to buy individual housing for gil, but extra retainers cost real money? That makes very little sense to me.

I really dislike this counterpoint towards the cost of something. It's ridiculous to be so narrow-minded about it. Utilizing this argument, why should anything RL related be in the game? Why do we need to have anything be identical to RL? Why can't cloth be the most defensive armor type? Magic... it can do literally anything.

Chances are, you're thinking that's just stupid. It doesn't make any sense, it's not how things work, etc. Well why do those concepts, which are true IRL, have to exist and make sense in the game when the concept of cost justification shouldn't?
